  1. If pardew is buoyed by that performance, why aren't we?
  2. I don't think sacking him is an option. But I think we'll be in the bottom four by January given the December fixtures unless he turns things around starting with Wigan. Seeing ameobi and ranger coming on smacks of a man who has run out of ideas and is tantamount to desperation. Bit embarrassing as well, tbh.
  3. IMO, there are more obvious glaring weaknesses that need to be addressed before Taylor.
  4. Not as a central defender. I don't hate any Newcastle players. I call it as I see it.
  5. Perch didn't do OK last season. He is rubbish anywhere along the back four where he has any responsibility to mark a player plus he is physically weak and no good in the air. He has found a back up spot in the midfield where he always has a player behind him to bail him out. I'm sure Crouch would just love to see Perch in the back four.
  6. If win bonuses made up a significant part of a player's salary as was the case years ago, I wonder if the tiredness would disappear or the can't be arsed attitude?
  7. So, you are saying Cisse can't be arsed?
  8. There is playing poorly, which I agree many players have been, and there is being rank. I was being generous saying Cisse has been poor. And don't you look to your "star" performers to give a lift to the Simpsons and Williamsons of this world?
  9. I think you are wrong. Cisse's overall game is poor. Its not enough to say he isn't getting the ball on a plate. He needs to work to make things happen and he's not doing that. While I agree he is not getting as many chances as last season, he has still managed to miss every one he did get. As for offside, he's playing himself offside because he lacks awareness and also is mistimg his run. In fact, I'd say that he's asked ameobi to explain the offside rule to him.
  10. My post is off on the timeline. I meant I see us in the bottom four by the end of the year. And need additions in January. Look at Decembers games, not pretty.
  11. Sinking like a stone. Unless we get a couple of players who can contribute immediately and make a significant impact, then I see us winding up in the bottom four by the end of the year. Cisse is absolute shite but whats more worrying is the total lack of ability of the players that could replace him. Unless pardew can get him playing, I don't think Ba will score enough goals to give us a fighting chance, and I don't see where else they'll come from given what we've seen so far.
  12. Very aggressive for you, Nancy. Looks like I touched a nerve, eh?
  13. Don't be fooled by Alex. He had no idea that the Benitez family liked living in the area. He's trying to dig himself out.
  14. FFS. Does everything need a smiley face?
  15. Stability is only a demonstrated benefit if you have Alex Ferguson as far as I can see.
  16. That is exactly the reason up front. I mentioned this last season that they are clueless playing together up to the point that IMO, pardew shouldn't do it. Work on Ben Arfa playing behind Ba, put Cisse on the bench until he gets his act together as his overall game has been right off, not just his lack of goals. Problem is that I think Pardew is more of a fingers crossed and hope manager rather than a tactician Get rid of obertan and ameobi and buy Falcao. That would help.
  17. People, including me, thought he'd be the answer but the truth is Marveaux hasn't done much when he has been on. Limited time, but largely unimpressive. It's like saying the pitch is big so start obertan as with his pace, he'll lose people. Again, the truth is its just a bigger pitch for him to run up his own arse. The biggest things that got us results last season were good defending with a lot of luck and moments of individual brilliance. Without Colo the back four goes to shit and Cisse has gone to shit for God knows why. I don't think pardew has much idea about what to do other than hope Ben Arfa and Ba can pull something out of the hat. Individual moments rather than an overall convincing team display thrashed out on the training pitch.
  18. You have to say that pardew and his coaching staff don't seem to have much imagination. Tactically they appear devoid of any ideas and, perhaps more importantly, incapable of motivating certain players who keep turning in abject performances time after time with no signs of improvement.
  19. Xisco scored a hat trick but it didn't get him very far. And yet, we still persist with the goal machine that is ameobi.
  20. I think George Best is about the only player I've seen live who could score a goal like that. What set him apart is that he could do it time and time again. Both players have such incredible balance.
  21. Politely declining is the obvious response to anybody with half a brain. Providing she has no ulterior motives.
  22. If this relationship was going well, I'd hate to see one that was going bad. My money is on the fact she's already splitting the sheets with the opposition or fully intends to do so. Either way, if you don't get the job, this relationship is doomed. I'd also say that, if she is any way involved in the interview process and is favouring one candidate, you've got a solid complaint to HR. Especially if he gets the position. Unless of course you are in her direct reporting structure, which is a no-no in most companies, and you were doing it on the QT. Thats also an HR issue because of situations like this and complicates matters.
  23. I think you mean white not redneck. Unless of course you also refer to the blacks and hispanics as niggers and wetbacks.
  24. Considering obama got 93% of the black vote and 71% of the hispanic vote I'd say Romney is right.
