  1. A bit of professionalism at long last Lol, might as well stick a hand-written 'For Sale' sign in the foyer window while they're at it
  2. Im all for steadying the ship as such but throwing a contract at a bad manager for the sake of it is silly wouldnt you say? Here's my take on it. A managerless club is a club in crisis. Nobody knows who's in charge. Nobody will want to buy a club in crisis, and the players and fans will rapidly lose confidence just as we are doing now. By having a manager, we at least give the appearance of functioning as a normal club should. And you have to ask one question of any potential appointment: can he make the situation any worse? I don't think Zico can, myself. It's a catch 22 situation, it's likely that no manager will touch us until we have a new owner in and at the same time a rudderless ship isn't attractive to potential buyers. Bring in Captain Pugwash!
  3. Quotation marks. Means they have it on record. If there were no quotation marks it would have been looked on with scorn. Not always. I know what you're on about but I've seen quotes in the past of such nature be proved false. I can't see them making up a solicitors statement, clearly he did say this word for word (and given the guy sat there with a huge smirk on his face vs Hull, and with all that's been said about him by people that have had dealing with him it's not exactly out of character for him, in fact it's pretty much expected). Is it me or does Llambias look a little like Jim's dad from American pie? Obviously not a well-meaning as Jim's dad though, in fact a complete cunt.
  4. Oh my good god, I've just read an article that said a consortium of Nigerian entrepreneurs are close to buying us... that'll be them fuckers who send out emails asking for people to transfer money for them! ... Edit: Ah crap, welcome me to 6:30pm this evening...
  5. I think you're being a touch melodramatic there tbh. He's prolly right though tbh
  6. That has made my day. Fuck you very much Ashley. Cunt! I thought that... then I thought hang on a minute, losing £300m might just make him that more reluctant to sell up unless he can make a big profit on us to cover his recent losses.
  7. I've got to say I don't believe this bollocks about Ashley saving us from financial ruin anyway, we were running in the same manner as many football clubs and had a debt, also the same as many football clubs - we weren't going to go under and we weren't going to 'do a Leeds'. Yes Ashely paid off most of the debts and that's great but it wasn't imperative that it had to be done or that we'd have been guaranteed to have gone under. All Ashley's done since arriving is pay off some debts that wouldn't have made a difference, restructure the club (badly) and lied through his teeth about what was going on and how things were working. I don't know if these people who are backing Ashley over Keegan weren't around for Keegan's first spell and maybe don't know him very well or whether they're just dumb-fucks who listen to the ill-informed 'Southern' press too much. It amazes me tbh.
  8. I thought it was a wind-up at first as "He's gone down in my estimation" is a line from the 'Love it!' interview. I was seething by the end of the first page, skim-read the second, and gave up in frustration and disbelief. I just don't understand them, have they missed everything that's gone on? It's like they've been in a cocoon, force-fed Pro-Ashley propaganda written by Llambias and his evil pixies... very fucking weird.
  9. welcome back fella. not much to report tbh. Cheers mate
  10. See that's the thing isn't it, I mean it must be blatently obvious that we were doing great up until the point Kev left. On the face of it then if you owned a club, you wanted to be successful, the team was working and things were progressing, why mess with it? More to the point would you choose a Director of Football (ie Wise) over the Manager getting the actual results from the team (ie Keegan). Hmm, I'd have thought it was a no-brainer personally because fuck me, look what happened when you choose the wrong one - the team stop playing, the fans get pissed off and you end up looking no only like a complete cunt but a stupid, lying one at that.

    Owen

Unless someone comes in and buys the club restoring harmony with a decent manager Owen will go, no two ways about it... and I'm 100% positive that he won't be the only one.
  12. Fucking hell, I've just checked out the thread you're talking about, what a bunch of no-brained, cock-nosed wankers. If it's all on the level and like Pud says there is a building of sympathy towards Ashley as opposed to Keegan I can't quite see how it's come about but strangely knew it would... are those supporting Keegan really becoming more of a minority? Has the bite gone from the fans?... Find out next week in the next exciting installment of 'The Fall of the St James Empire'. I'm starting to question whether there's more rent-a-mong fans than I had accounted for.
  13. Hey guys, just got back from my hols and have been purposefully staying away from the news - by the look of today's result I can see not too much has changed but have I missed anything important? I assume Ashley's still being a fat cunt? Has he found any potential buyers yet? What are the papers saying? Are the boycotts and protests likely to continue? I see we have a supporters club on the go, I've signed up for that.
  14. Who the fuck is Matthew Syed?? Can't be a sports writer with that little knowledge about the game.
  15. Not being funny Tom but you seem very set on supporting Ashley in all this, I thought you were against him or did I get the wrong end of the stick? Don't get me wrong, the articles spilling out of the press aren't that much better written than anything else they've produced recently but personally I'd rather have them coming out in support of the fans than making it all about the fans wanting too much again. Fair enough we don't know what this could bring about but I'm willing to lean towards the positives due to how shit things have gone through the current owner's bungling of late. I'm trying to take a fair view of the situation that's all. The fans expectations were realistic however Ashley is not the devil incarnate. That's fair enough mate, nothing wrong with trying for the neutral stance - in my eyes I think Ashley brought all the problems about himself. Yes he did a cracking job of sorting the finances out and I'd thank him for that but the structure in place was never going to work with the people he employed and that was down to him.
  16. Tbh I doubt there's anything solid on which investors are likely to be ruling themselves in or out yet, talks would need to take place first on both parts - any decent business wouldn't rule out an opportunity without checking it out first.

  18. I've got to say that MackemDale piece is spot on, with the exception of the digs against the actual club and fans of course - shame there's not a few more fans from other teams with as much sense.
  19. Just watched the news on the Beeb, their two main points were Ashley saying that he was concerned for the saftey of his family and that the fans crave instant success... words fail me, fucking useless, lazy journalism of the worst kind - and fuckwits round the country will lap that shit up like there's no tomorrow! Jesus.
  20. Spot on. I'm surprised at the number of people swallowing his sob story and actually feeling sorry for him. I have no argument with the theory of identifying and nurturing young talent, but Stevie Wonder could see the first team squad needs 3-5 decent players who could come straight in and do a job. We're not talking Ronaldinho's here, just decent pros who know the game and the premier league. They couldn't even do that....Absolute amateur hour. Half of them in LA the other half in London. Good fucking riddance. I'm in agreement
  21. Yeah but even he must of been aware of a budget, and the comments about Lampard, Henry etc just show how deluded he must have been! Aye because the News of the World always prints the truth doesnt it... Poor WUM tbh.... To be honest the sad truth of it is that this is likely the view of the majority of non-Toon fans because they don't have a clue about the club and take on all the negative shit from the media without looking at the facts, etc. I assume all we're going to get for the foreseeble future is wankers like this posting on the forum because they think it's clever.
  22. For fuck sake, fickle bloody fans everywhere tbh
  23. That's the thing isn't it, the media are going to hype us up all the more (using their own bollocks instead of facts) that the fans of NUFC demand so much. It'll make it harder in my eyes for any new owner to see the club in a positive light, no wonder Ambani has turned his attention towards Everton based on the turmoil at our club. It's a shame that the press can't actually report on the truth of what the fans want/need to be happy, are we cursed?
