Unless someone comes in and buys the club restoring harmony with a decent manager Owen will go, no two ways about it... and I'm 100% positive that he won't be the only one.

Press Release & radio Newcastle interview 4.10 today
TheMoog replied to peasepud's topic in Newcastle Forum
Fucking hell, I've just checked out the thread you're talking about, what a bunch of no-brained, cock-nosed wankers. If it's all on the level and like Pud says there is a building of sympathy towards Ashley as opposed to Keegan I can't quite see how it's come about but strangely knew it would... are those supporting Keegan really becoming more of a minority? Has the bite gone from the fans?... Find out next week in the next exciting installment of 'The Fall of the St James Empire'. I'm starting to question whether there's more rent-a-mong fans than I had accounted for. -
Hey guys, just got back from my hols and have been purposefully staying away from the news - by the look of today's result I can see not too much has changed but have I missed anything important? I assume Ashley's still being a fat cunt? Has he found any potential buyers yet? What are the papers saying? Are the boycotts and protests likely to continue? I see we have a supporters club on the go, I've signed up for that.

Who the fuck is Matthew Syed?? Can't be a sports writer with that little knowledge about the game.
-
Not being funny Tom but you seem very set on supporting Ashley in all this, I thought you were against him or did I get the wrong end of the stick? Don't get me wrong, the articles spilling out of the press aren't that much better written than anything else they've produced recently but personally I'd rather have them coming out in support of the fans than making it all about the fans wanting too much again. Fair enough we don't know what this could bring about but I'm willing to lean towards the positives due to how shit things have gone through the current owner's bungling of late. I'm trying to take a fair view of the situation that's all. The fans expectations were realistic however Ashley is not the devil incarnate. That's fair enough mate, nothing wrong with trying for the neutral stance - in my eyes I think Ashley brought all the problems about himself. Yes he did a cracking job of sorting the finances out and I'd thank him for that but the structure in place was never going to work with the people he employed and that was down to him.
-
Tbh I doubt there's anything solid on which investors are likely to be ruling themselves in or out yet, talks would need to take place first on both parts - any decent business wouldn't rule out an opportunity without checking it out first.

I've got to say that MackemDale piece is spot on, with the exception of the digs against the actual club and fans of course - shame there's not a few more fans from other teams with as much sense.
-
Just watched the news on the Beeb, their two main points were Ashley saying that he was concerned for the saftey of his family and that the fans crave instant success... words fail me, fucking useless, lazy journalism of the worst kind - and fuckwits round the country will lap that shit up like there's no tomorrow! Jesus.
-
Spot on. I'm surprised at the number of people swallowing his sob story and actually feeling sorry for him. I have no argument with the theory of identifying and nurturing young talent, but Stevie Wonder could see the first team squad needs 3-5 decent players who could come straight in and do a job. We're not talking Ronaldinho's here, just decent pros who know the game and the premier league. They couldn't even do that....Absolute amateur hour. Half of them in LA the other half in London. Good fucking riddance. I'm in agreement
-
Yeah but even he must of been aware of a budget, and the comments about Lampard, Henry etc just show how deluded he must have been! Aye because the News of the World always prints the truth doesnt it... Poor WUM tbh.... To be honest the sad truth of it is that this is likely the view of the majority of non-Toon fans because they don't have a clue about the club and take on all the negative shit from the media without looking at the facts, etc. I assume all we're going to get for the foreseeble future is wankers like this posting on the forum because they think it's clever.
-
For fuck sake, fickle bloody fans everywhere tbh
-
That's the thing isn't it, the media are going to hype us up all the more (using their own bollocks instead of facts) that the fans of NUFC demand so much. It'll make it harder in my eyes for any new owner to see the club in a positive light, no wonder Ambani has turned his attention towards Everton based on the turmoil at our club. It's a shame that the press can't actually report on the truth of what the fans want/need to be happy, are we cursed?
-
And that pretty much sums up how I feel. I can honestly say that I have never craved instant success and was happy with how things were going up until the point he chose Wise over Kev, I was happy for things to take a slower progresion knowing that the team was in the hands of someone who would give their all for us and bring back the football we wanted. If Ashley had just let Kev manage as you'd expect a manager to do then he would have been up there with the best owners for me. Sadly it wasn't to be, I do feel a little sorry for Ashley if his statement is true, maybe he was just ill-advised. On a side note I do think if he'd not appointed Keegan and it had been anyone else the fans wouldn't have been anywhere near as bothered, and because of that I'd be very surprised if a new owner brought Keegan back for a third stint at manager risking the wrath of the fans if something went wrong. Whether it was the boycotting of sales or the general anger shown towards Ashley and his regime that has brought this about I guess we'll never know, we're just left to wonder now what the next chapter at the NUFC circus will bring.
-
I think thats the point Gemmills making though, a fan who goes to the game and wears an Ashley out t-shirt has more right to do the things he does than those who sit at home watching it unfold on the box. Im not sure I agree with him fully on the whole "you dont go so fuck off" but I can definitely see the logic. Shoudl this club ever be relegated and fall it will us that have to stand in the cold at Shrewsbury and the like while the worst that happens to armchair fans is they cant choose to fast forward through us on MOTD anymore. Not having a personal go there btw. Again for the record though I think you're all entitled to slag off Henda all day long tbh. See but that's what I didn't want this to turn in to, I don't agree that just because someone goes to a match their opinion holds more weight. It's down to common sense, to be honest I think we really are all on the same side in this nonsense, for what it's worth.
-
point being It would have went through normally...seeing as i don't live near the ground I used the club shop many times. and Ashley's shops round here don't really stock any nufc gear (like i said in a previous thread) what'd you do in way of protest anyways Gemmill, superfan that you are and all. Fuck all. I never buy any NUFC gear and I never buy anything from the shop at the match. So you didn't do anything about the situation and yet you and Tom want to tell us we don't have the right to voice our opinions. Right ho. I chanted Keegan's name, I applauded the Cockney Mafia OUT lads. Oh and I went to the match. How's the weather in France today? Average sadly but should be better next week. I don't think Mike Ashley's shitting himself about my opinion or yours but I still think a bloke who can't go to a match and not buy a pint when he's supposedly trying to voice his disapproval is laughable. It's just a bit of a shame that somehow people who supposedly want the same thing are trying to pull rank because they're at the game and others can't be. The question is what is worse? Someone who can be there but sits idly by or someone who can't be there but wants to do something? It's a fine line I guess. You're hilarious. "I reeeeeally want to do something but I can't possibly be there unfortunately. What's that? What am I doing that stops me from being there? Just....you know.........stuff. If I was there though I'd be doing fucking all sorts." I think if you were me you probably wouldn't be there either. 'Fans' like you deserve all the mid-table obscurity at best, relegation threatening crap that comes along with scum like now run our club, it's just a shame that the rest of us have to go along with it as well. Fucking hilarious. I'm sure it'll be a real hardship for you. Amazing Keep on keeping on mate. You are the ultimate boycotter. Your argument advocates going to the games and still buying stuff from the ground, while the "non resident" protest involves not buying merchandise. Which do you think Ashley is worried about? There are more Newcastle supporters that don't go to matches than those who do. Tens of thousands of people not buying has a big impact. I don't advocate buying stuff from the ground. But nor do I advocate vilifying someone that does. As for who Ashley is more worried about - I couldn't say. I won't be going to any cup games and I think that if a lot of people take the same stance Ashley would absolutely shit himself as stuff like that has the power to turn a profit-making club into a loss-making one. Keep not buying stuff from the shop btw - I fully support that, I'm just not happy with turning up on here having watched that shower of shit today, and finding a couple of lads that never have to suffer it in person taking the piss out of someone that does. So do you think that because I don't 'suffer it in person' it hurts any less? That I have less right to be angry with what is happening? Be as angry as you like but don't tell match going fans how they're going about things the wrong way, how they deserve mid-table mediocrity, or any of the other shite you've come out with recently. I'm off to bed. Us match-going fans get tired before the rest of you. Oh okay, if you go to the match you can be exempt from criticism for fucking up then, that's okay then. Fucking soopa-fan prick, goodnight.

I wonder who the 'four parties vying for control' are?

'Fans' like you deserve all the mid-table obscurity at best, relegation threatening crap that comes along with scum like now run our club, it's just a shame that the rest of us have to go along with it as well. I dont normally get involved in the "you dont go so fuck you" arguments but that last post is a pisstake shirley???? 'Fans' like you deserve all the mid-table obscurity at best -- what? fans that actually fund this club by buying season tickets? going to cup games on a freezing Wednesday in January? and generally those of us that had to sit through the shower of shite we were served up today, most of last season, all the season before that and generally many of the past years? I dont doubt that you have a liking (even a loving) for the toon but you will never have the right to call any fan who actually attends the games while you sit there forwarding through the shite on Sky+. ps If you are going to do that then dont even bother turning MOTD on tonight because you'll need it on 32x for the duration (even then Shola wont move much ) oh and for the record, I dont agree with Gemmill on the subject of this, I think the original poster was at best moronic for buying a pint. To be fair Pud that's not what I was implying, I've got every respect for the fans that can make it to the ground or stand in the driving rain on a cold night and have paid for their tickets in advance to this fiasco. My 'Fans' like you deserve all the mid-table obscurity at best' was aimed at those fans (even the ones inside) who choose to defend people who buy things from inside the club or club merchandise since all this kicked off.

I'll be avoiding the front entrance like the plague after the game. Cringe-tastic! Yeah, best not to support anyone trying to make a change at the club eh? Honestly mate are you literally having a laugh? Did you sit with your back to the telly when Final Score came on? Hey if you're happy with the way things are that's fine. How can I be happy when I know how sad it's making you? Ohhh I get it now, you're actually on a downer with things at the club but you're having problems directing it at the right people so you're trying to make yourself feel better by winding people up on an internet forum. Okay, congrats, you can have a gold star, I'll try my hardest not to bite on your daftarse comments anymore.
-
Piece of piss though isn't it. Much like not ordering stuff from the club shop is. Is it sinking in yet? Don't shout the odds telling people how to protest effectively when the sum total of your effort is to not buy stuff from a website. It's hardly our fault if some of the people allegedly trying to protest are too thick to do it properly though is it.
