  1. Who's taking our pens now? Edit: Oh Christ
  2. Thing is we've already seen that these same players can actually play, without direction or motivation though they look like they do now. It's a shame but it's not a surprise, even the best players in the world will have their quality affected if they're amongst the sort of turmoil hitting our club at present.
  3. To be honest I'm just having to disregard these matches at the moment. The team's just not playing to it's potential, I think the players will probably continue in this vein until the club is settled with a new owner and a new permanent manager. The team really isn't as bad as they're appearing, we were playing so, so different prior to this whole disasterous saga.
  4. Team: Given Bassong Taylor Coloccini Cacapa Geremi Butt Duff N'Zogbia Xisco Owen Subs: Doanaldson Tozer Edgar Ranger Ameobi Harper Doninger Could be worse I guess, shame it doesn't say what formation we'll go for. Still, oddly I'm feeling a bit more positive about today's result
  5. I think all the paper stuff has been true (that the club has been for sale almost since he bought it). It's just the insane amount that he wants for the club that has put all potentially interested parties off. How can he expect to get more for the club than he's paid for and put in to it to pay off debts conbined when it's in the state it's in? It's like buying a used car, spending loads on repairs and then expecting to sell it for the same price as it was worth brand new.
  6. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...icle1740605.ece Reading Given's comments on the appointment (not from the Sun) underwhelmed would be putting it mildly. I can't help but imagine him saying it in Falling Down kind of way. I don't think he's a happy bunny at all, and who can blame him? It's a shame really, Joe seems like a really nice bloke and says all the right things - IF he could be as effective with the team as manager I wouldn't mind how long he stayed... seems like a good guy. Of course if he's as pants as some have said then it'll be thankyou and goodnight.
  7. More pointless matches in an already busy season then... for those in the tournament... hell, why am I bothered?!
  8. Made it a little easier to digest. Good post. O/T that avatar, man. Class. Aye, loving that! Quality. ... and thanks for sorting that post out, I couldn't be arsed to read it when it was one block.
  9. Anyone listening to the radio this afternoon would be in the know as Joe Kinnear said it in his interview. Why is everyone suddenly opposed to Keegan coming back? He had us playing well last season, the Man U game was a great start and then it all hit the fan! It seems to me the problem is the owner and the board. Well if news is to be believed then in 4 weeks the board will be gone, keegan will be back, he will have full control over transfers and a hefty sum of money to spend in Januray. Possibly training Shearer to take over from himself in 3 years time. That seems like pretty much the perfect scenario to me Yet people are still moaning? No complaints here - as cesc fabregas said today its not about winning stuff but enjoying football and i for one say that i never enjoyed watching newcastle as much as when kk was in charge (sbr was close like) as for Kinnear after the initial shock I listened to his interview and he seems a decent bloke who will try his best and is under no illusions - i wish him well for the time he is with us I'd be pretty happy with that, in fact I'd be very happy. I understand the reservations some may now have, since the dust has settled and people have had time to think or be influenced by the media, the fact of the matter is the gut instinct of most when Keegan left was to jump to his defence and show anger towards the people who had created the mess in the first place - and they always say the first instinct is usually the correct one. I can't say that I don't have any concerns at all that Kev's a tad temperamental but to be fair to him his hand has been forced the times that he's walked. Until such point as a new owner is in place and a new full time manager is brought in Roy Kinnear has my full support also (though I'm still not buying anything from the club until Ashley's gone ).
  10. It's all Boggle-eyes Wise and his crazy gang connections alongside Ashley's supporting of the Spuds. I can't help thinking that Ashley's motives for the club since being attacked by the fans is one of f*ck em, let's really screw them over for ruining my party. It's like a sad, sad comedy really isn't it, I'm at the stage now where I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry. Even the supporters of other teams that sit round me at work can't believe it! I feel like it's all been some big joke since the whole sorry situation all kicked off, I'm chuckling to myself but I think it's more maniacal than anything else. Edit: For the record I'm not against a temp appointment of Kinnear, it just seems to have topped the whole episode off really. Hehe, Joe Kinnear indeed.
  11. I think he was manager of Man City when they went down from the Prem to the 2nd division... could be mistaken like. Think he was at Forest for a season a few years back. Yep, my mistake, was thinking of Joe Royle.
  12. Forget that original post, I've just been reminded he was a Spud player so that explains it.
  13. Lol, might as well have dug up Roy Kinnear!
  14. David O'Dreary... just when you thought it couldn't get worse than Terry Vegetables. Whoever comes in needs to be accepting a match to match contract, anything more and it'll just get annoying when the new owners come in and want their own man in charge, be it Kev or whoever. Ho hum...
  15. Terry Vegetables... well I did enjoy how the Endland team of Euro 96 played.
  16. Nestle is responsible for more violations of the World Health Assembly marketing requirements for baby foods than any other company. But I still enjoy a Kit Kat. While I'm coughing up the cash for baby killers, my priorities would feel out of whack boycotting Newcastle because the owner let Keegan walk. I have no problem with eating Kit-Kats or boycotting sales towards the club while Ashley's able to draw money from it. The players will play no matter what and how well they perform is likely to be more to do with the lack of a decent manager than any amount of fans turning up. I won't be sure Ashley's selling up until the ink's dry and the new owner's installed.
  17. It's this sort of shite that pisses me off to no end about the media, wank journo, wank story.
  18. Is she having a fucking laugh? He's bought 'big' this summer and they are playing wank Aye, had to chuckle at that bit too, where exactly are the Spuds in the league table?
  19. I thought the big idea was not to go? Or was that only if tickets had to be paid for? I suppose if they're free then it'll make no difference to Ashley's pocket - BUT NO BUYING STUFF INSIDE THE GROUND
  20. Let's face it, Ashley will probably try and sell us to the biggest bunch of scumbags he can find just because he's got the arse.
  21. I'm still laughing at the free ring dings
