  1. Maybe there are more desk based jobs in London so a comparatively greater portion of the workforce can work from home as their jobs are largely pointless (mine, particularly so). That might explain the lower R0.
  2. I was amazed at that given what I’ve seen recently. That said, pretty much everyone I know down here has been working from home for more than 2 months? It will be interesting to see what proportion of people have the antibodies once the testing gets done.
  3. It says it is written by Alistair Magowan. I thought he was an impressionist? A particularly unfunny one at that. If his reporting is as accurate as his David Beckham and Sven-Goran Eriksson impressions were, then I shouldn’t imagine we have too much to worry about.
  4. I’d be absolutely delighted with Benitez or Pochettino. I appreciate that Pochettino has never won a trophy as a manager but he has managed Espanyol, Southampton and Spurs. Would you have expected him to win a trophy at any of those clubs? Arguably Spurs but, when you consider Spurs wage structure and transfer spend, they are miles behind most of the rest of the top six. Getting Spurs to the CL final is an unbeleivable achievement. I also think he comes across as being a decent bloke and he seems to get the best out of his players. We’d be lucky as fuck to get him.
  5. It’s not a bad thing, so long as the people queuing up to get into B&Q end up drinking the Cuprinol.
  6. If you thought episode 1 was a treat, just wait until you see the episode in which they are trying to sign Will Grigg.
  7. “Petition Closed This petition had 1 supporter”
  8. In fairness, that would be mint. I love Wyki’s workplace tales of woe. An entire forum of Wyki types, about to go full Columbine on their workmates, would make for great reading.
  9. I went to Greenwich Park yesterday so my kids could run around. Everyone was staying well away from each other and the police were moving on anyone who was just there sunbathing. Almost everyone that I saw was being considerate. A lot of people have no, or little, outdoor space and will have spent the entire week cooped up, working from home with their kids running around the house. I see no problem in people getting some fresh air so long as they stay well away from each other. I appreciate that some parks weren’t like this (although I suspect that the large majority were) but there is way way more chance of catching it in a supermarket.
  10. Really couldn’t agree more with PaddockLad and Ayatollah Hermione. The absolute rank hypocrisy of these people would beggar belief were it not for the fact that a large majority of this country have proven to be cunts time and time again over the past three years. They’re irredeemable as far as I’m concerned and I’m almost certain that about 99% of them would still vote conservative tomorrow.
  11. Correct (according to this source at least!). https://medium.com/the-global-millennial/how-the-netherlands-is-the-worlds-second-largest-food-exporter-c411b8fb14dd
  12. I’ve lived down here for nigh on 20 years and, while I love the place and will probably always live here, I agree with you. Whenever I come back up, I’m always struck by the warmth of people in Newcastle to strangers (even little things like people calling you pet).
  13. I’ll set one. Which country is the world’s second largest food exporter after the US?
  14. Managed to split the back of my head on a door this morning. I was in Lewisham hospital A&E getting glued back together again when the news came through of Johnson having coronavirus. The staff there were delighted that he had it! I hate the cunt as much as the next man, but the NHS staff seem to despise him. Still, it gave them a welcome boost in what must be terrible times for them. At least he’s doing something for their morale.
  15. It will be far from heaven. The 2 year old will start knocking fuck out of his keyboard as he tries to work and/or screaming for Paw Patrol or some other shit. The 6 month old will be whining like bastard because they haven’t been fed in the last 3 minutes. I’m working at home with a 3 year old and a 10 month old, I’m pulling my hair out.
  16. I’ve applied for one, this fucker’s application had better be behind mine in the queue.
  17. That’s a fairly terrible thing to say, regardless of their politics. Education and compassion is surely the way forward. A lot of these people probably don’t have anyone else at home, so this is their only for of companionship. They probably don’t realise the danger they are putting themselves and others in. That’s why the government needs to step in and close the pubs to save them from themselves. It will be tough on them, taking away (for some) their only social contact, but it is for the greater good. Besides all that, Greenwich voted remain.
  18. I walked past the Wetherspoons in Greenwich earlier. It was full of pensioners, the exact people who need to be isolating. London needs to be locked down as quickly as possible to save these people from themselves.
  19. Absolutely, my immediate reaction was to think that the tories were prioritising the economy over the lives of the populace. The conversation I had this morning made me doubt that. That said, it still didn’t make me waver from my belief that, to a man/woman, they are self serving cunts. However, Whitty and Valance seem to be highly respected.
  20. Hah, brilliant. Sometimes you’ve just got to step back and admire the ingenuity.
