  3. Not sure if the press have jumped on this and made some dodgy presumptions on this to be honest. To make that amount of 'employees' redundant they would have needed a consultation period of 90 days, obviously it hasnt been 90 days since we got relegated. That says to me that either the have been prepared for relegation for the past three months (despite the statements that they werent considering relegation), these werent directly attributed to the relegation and it was a re-organisation of the workforce regardless of relegation, these people were only on short/fixed term contracts and werent full time employees or finally the club have fucked up and will have one hell of an employment tribunal to look forward to....dont think any company is that stupid....
  4. He did an interview a few months back talking about his career so far and the mistakes he had made, ive had a little search but cant find it. He talked about spending time in a YOI for being involved in a robbery and also how his time at Southampton was cut short, think the kit was just meant to be a little gift for his pals. He then spoke about how moving away to Newcastle has sorted his career and life out, came accross well in the interview. Sure someone must ahve a link to it.
  5. I was under the impression that Southampton gave him the boot because when the season ended he helped himself to loads of match and training gear, this coupled with his previous 'wrong doings' was the final straw. Judge rules...boys will be boys.
  6. Im kind of hoping Justin might still have it on his TV somehow. Perhaps its blind optimism.
  7. Bit pathetic picking him up on his attire is it not? Not really. How much is a tie to wear in front of the nations media? Very true. This is the last straw, getting us relegated was one thing but not wearing a tie!! Next you will be telling me the crease in his trousers was slightly off centre. There's looking like a professional and there's looking like a tit. So him wearing a tie will make him not look like a tit? Hes a fat gormless twat who has just managed to lose half of his fortune and relegate an established premiership team all in a couple years, i think everyone knows hes a tit.

  9. Good call, Boyd would deffo be worth a punt, could try and get him and McLean at the same time. Im not too sure about Maclean, i really think he would get found out by a better calibre of defender. When he/Peterborough were in League 2 i know the players liked him being in the team as he made things happen just because of his work rate alone, technically he was quite poor. He seems a hard worker so perhaps he has worked on his touch but i think we need more than just a hard worker.
  10. Ive watched peterborough quite alot over the past few years and i think Boyd could really be worth a shot although i think he would come at a high price. Not sure how decent he is but Lee Croft might be worth a punt. He always looked decent when i saw him play for Norwich but perhaps thats just because the rest were awful, also i believe he is now out of contract.
  11. Sorry to bring this up, obviously its still a sore subject at the moment. Im sure people will be able to help you think up a clever new one though.
  12. Just out of interest have you started to consider changing your name if Bassong leaves? Be a sad day when he packs up and leaves.
  13. Am not that up on labour law but a company can change the contract of its employees if it suffers a significant changes in its circumstances. Otherwise how would companies be allowed to make redundancies? Employment law accounts for these things i believe. Done quite a bit of employment law myself, cant see them being able to enforce a wage reduction on someone unless the individual agrees to this. What some companies do to reduce the wage bill are things such as a 4 day week as long as the T.U agrees to this, not really relevant to NUFC. With reference to the redundancies there are two main circumstances they can be enforced; business closeure and a diminished requirement for work of a particular kind, once again not really relevant to NUFC. There's a diminished requirement for premiership footballers Is there not a third criteria, which has been going on all around us for the last 6 months? Major companies are not closing, their revenues are being reduced and since labour is a major cost, they reduce the wage bill through redundancies. We just laid off 800 last year, with head count reductions coming from across the company. Our business model hasnt really changed, we still do all the same type of work, just with less people. You'd obviously ask them nicely first but am sure there must be a way of adjusting a contract if that contract threatened the ongoing survival of the company? There could be an arguement that certain players could be made redundant however one of the key things to consider is that an employer can not make an employee redundant and then replace them straight away, it is obvious that if we were to get rid of these players they would need replaced. This kind of protects employees as it stops the employer just getting rid of them 'easily'. If the club were to seriously consider getting rid of certain players (employees) they could do worse than to look at the 6 potentially fair ways to dismiss someone, the one most relevant here would be 'Capability' as there is a strong arguement several of the players are no longer able to carry out their duties to a required standard, however this required the club to follow a disciplinary procedure so could take a little while. All of this is trivial as i cant see the club going down this path. As for adjusting the contract if it threatened the survival of the company, its a difficult one. Im not expert on this but im not certain this is an option, i think the organisation would have to ask the employee very nicely or persuade them its the best way e.g Toyota couldnt afford their wage levels in the current climate so negotiated with the workforce (Trade Union) that it was in their long term interests to accept a 4 day working week for a fixed period.

  15. Snore off....FOP is my Hero!
  16. What does a man want? A woman who shuts up and and does what shes told...deal with it.
  17. Taken his kid off him? You are aware he's chucked them out of the family home and they're in a pokey flat at the moment? Family's important to him though of course..... Pokey flat! You twat. Have you seen it? Nah didnt think so. Never liked Lampard but has gone up in my estimation 100 times today, feel sorry for the bloke for the shit hes getting. You are a cunt. Fucking pokey flat, get real you prick.
  18. To be honest i dont rate Darren Ferguson, yes he has done a great job but when you look at it there is no surprise. The money he has had available to him since Darragh Macanthony (spelling?) brought the club is why they are doing so well, they paid £400k for Joe Lewis as well a relatively large sums for Aaron Maclean, Craig Macail Smith and George Boyd (good player and nice bloke, if we get relegated would like us to have a punt on him). These are just some of the higher profile players who have done well. You can then take into account money wasted on flops like Scott Rendell. Yes, Ferguson and Peterborough have done very well and i think they will continue to do so but Peterborough's success has stemmed from the 'Big Ron Manager' series which encouraged Macanthony to buy them out, not Ferguson.
  19. What does a person have to do to get a knighthood these days? Surely old Hawking must be in contention, no?
  20. I agree and because of this i think Hatton may stand a chance, i think his style of jab - hook - hold, if done effectively wont allow Pacquaio to do his damage. I think Pacquaio will be a HUGE challenge to Hatton but he isnt the same standard as Mayweather, close fight but Hatton just to edge it.....i hope.
  21. Anybody in to rambling?
  22. good stop but one reflex save doesn't make him a good keeper sort of similar to how one goal v shaktar doesnt make giovanni a good signing or the next big thing True but he is steadily improving and has hardly put a foot wrong and is keeping Cudicini on the bench now. Even the wanky top four biased commentators are starting to give him credit now. He has been impressive of late, well done to the lad really as he was terrible to start with so it speaks volumes of his character to dig deep and come out the other side. Got to feel sorry for Cudicini though, surely they promised him first team football? Cant see why he would swap being a Chelsea sub for shity spurs.
  23. Bit of ice will do the trick.
  24. According to the man himself he apparently was match fit. Your assessment of NUSC is fucking ridiculous. Firstly, this club doesn't need to go down for members to feel justified in their feelings towards the current regime. They've already proven they're complete fuckwits incapable of running a bath let alone a football club. Secondly and most importantly people for NUSC don't just sit in their apparent ivory tower and judge from on high. They go to games both home and away and they were supporting this club when you were nowt but a glint in your Dad's eye. They have an emotional and a financial commitment to the club and have done for years. Just because they have a different opinion of the way the club is being ran and the way to solve the problem doesn't make them any less of a fan of NUFC than yourself. It's actually quite ironic that you alluded to that as some of the shit flung in the direction of NUSC has been that they see themselves as ubers and 'better fans'. Im by no means an adocate of Ashley, Lambias etc but to suggest they are complete fuckwits incapable of running a bath is perhaps a little naive. A complete fuckwit who by all accounts is worth over £1 billion, yes? No idea how to run a football club i would agree. I honestly would love NUSC to achieve their goals i really would. I struggle to see how it will happen any time soon though with their current approach. They go to games home and away...join the club. They were doing so before i was a glint in my dad's eye? Wasnt aware you knew me.
