  1. I was saying just a couple of changes for today, not as a matter of policy. Willock and Gordon maybe. I'm sure they thought about it and checked fitness stats etc., what do we know. But one can't still help but think. Because this has happened regularly to us when we've played 3 in a week. Villa's squad is so much better. They've been able to manage all the extra games well and you know they'll get away with PSR. We have a massive summer ahead.
  2. Agree with much on what has been said here re this was a hiccup not totally unexpected and we just need to remember the position we are in and get back on track vs Ipswich. Two things stood out for me: 1. Bruno set a really poor tone for me. Cranky, petulant behavior, throwing himself to the ground and then getting worked up plus giving away needless freekicks in dangerous areas. The ref was a massive arsehole no doubt but you need better from your captain. 2. A bit of squad rotation might have benefited us in hind sight. I know Tindall spoke about not changing a winning formula and Eddie has said the same in the past but this has happened to us before when despite great form we stumble purely due to lack of energy. Maybe try something different just to give yourself a chance.
  3. Aye a couple of weeks of bedrest follows probably, he should rest till after the Ipswich game at least, Tindall should be able to handle that. Time to cook up some ideas for the title charge next season Eddie
  4. I'd give player of the season to Burn. It's not just his story, work ethic etc either I think he's performed to a very high CB standard. His reading of the game and decision making has been top class and allowed him to overcome his lack of pace. Obviously the form of the players around him has helped, Tonali covering every blade of grass, Hall and Tino having great seasons means you'rea assured of the support around you but he still deserves massive credit for the way he's performed. And don't forget how important scoring that first goal at Wembley was.
  5. I'd take a draw here although if we play to our ability we beat them. Fitness may decide who gets the points here. Gordon, Willock maybe even Miley off the bench could be important. We drop off considerably when subs come on so you hope those 3 catch a bit of form. I dont have any hope whatsoever left for Wilson and Longstaff, especially not off the bench. Even IF we dont get the points its not the end of the world. Avoid injuries. One game a week after that and with everyone in full flow we'll blow away most teams and have enough for a CL finish,
  6. Aye there's not been a word of that anywhere. Let them lap it up. They wont be playing a 10 man Lyon every week.
  7. Has ewerk been deleting posts? I'm proud of my slightly pre-mature hahas. It will be funnier when the lose in the semis or the final.
  8. Useless French pansies but this one is on the officials the dodgy pricks
  9. And the refs drag them back into it of course..
  10. He wont be under the radar much longer, people are picking up on it now. I've never seen another Nufc player make everyone else no matter who we play look so ordinary. He makes Bruno who's been our best midfielder in ages look average ffs. And I honestly don't feel like there's any exaggeration or knee jerk conclusions here, you just watch him play, it's imperious stuff. I know he was highly rated and all but had no idea he was capable of being THIS good. Prepare for Sky and the like to start peddling him off somewhere very soon.
  11. It's also experience isn't it. Experience of playing the cup final two years ago, of playing in the Champions League, of having been in tight European races and of having played and consistently beaten top sides. I think some people in the media like the idiot Simon Jordan still continue to quesiton Howe's ability to get more success but I think many of them are now waking up to the fact that we are going to be a massive problem for not just your Chelsea's and Spurs but also the City's and Liverpool's going forward. If another club had won a cup and smashed their way to 3rd in the league there would have been massive hype, I think we're still going a bit under the radar but that's fine.
  12. Done! Fantastic to see how high ethical conerns continue to be on the public's agenda. I know there must be a proportinate number of surveys on how we feel about the arms sales and billions of dollars of trade with Saudi, the military and intelligence support with our tax payer money for Israel etc etc.
  13. Clearly you've forgotten how we do things here. Btw in case you want to disuss Tonali, obviously head on over to the Harvey Barnes thread.
  14. No statistical forecasting model is perfect, that's not the point. The point is to provide an objective, consistent metric that can be used to evaluate performance. Also I thought we'd been over the fact that it doesnt take into account player quality. Isak may have scored 4 out of 10 from that chance for example but your AVERAGE player wouldnt be anywhere near as close and that's what the models would consider. Clearly not enough accountants on this board.
  15. Nope, because xG is the probablity of a goal from the opportunity based on the circumstances around that opportunity like angle, distance etc. Not external factors like player quality, weather, quality of shite the night before etc. You can evaluate Isak and Hojlund based on their xG to goals conversion or something like that, not the other way around.
  16. Wilson man.......just put him out of his misery. How bad can Osula be
