  1. I don't buy that, since the deductions for the other teams there's been more than enough time to setup something with Saudi clubs or something like that. They can bail Chelsea out but not us? And with all the noise the club has been making about PSR for the last year or so you'd think we wouldn't be left scrambling till the last week. I suspect they still have something up their sleeve but we're running it real close now.
  2. Time to reignite the Saudi interest in Miggy, he should be zero net book value by now surely.
  3. I wasn't aware they were asking for 35M for DCL I was thinking maybe 20M for him and shipping Wilson to Saudi for 25M would be a shrewd bit of business. And aye, totally agree we need a 3rd striker, especially if the first two have a history with injuries. An up and coming young one from Europe or South America I suppose.
  4. I get why all of these rumors feel underwhelming to many, not what we expected after becoming the 'richest club in the world'. It's just the reality of what the PSR have made football though. DCL for Wilson makes sense, especially if given his age we're able to get higher $ for Wilson from Saudi. Looks like we're monitoring a number of CBs, fairly confident we'll get someone decent in. Tomori > Kilman from what I've seen but lets see where we land. On the whole, having either of those and Burn/Kelly as backup makes for a very decent defensive squad. RW of course is the big one. I wonder if Barnes becomes a regular started on the left and Gordon moves to the right as we've seen on occasion. Still, replacing Miggy is absolutely paramount. He sticks out like a sore thumb with the quality of the rest of our attack now. If we were in for Olise clearly 50-60M has been earmarked for that position, should be interesting to see who's next. Neto links popping up again but surely we don't sign him, DCL and Kelly in one window with their injury records and what we suffered through last season
  5. Why would you expect anything else from Southgate though? Even when you get far into tournaments the team is painful to watch, disjointed, getting by on individuals. Everyone has known this for years yet the FA still employ him. I can see them squeezing through to the quarters or the semis and then lose out trying to win 1-0 or go take it to penalties.
  6. Much better rumour but we'll probably lose out here:
  7. New PSR avoidance strategy, sign dodgy PIF owned Saudi/Middle Eastern sponsors and build in hefty cancellation fee for reputational risk. "Worker mistreatment? That'll be 10M, now bugger off. Next." "Lashed your lass in public? That'll be 15M. Next." "Fetish for farting on your camels' nose? Animal cruelty. 10M. Next."
  8. Contract extension on the table too apparently. going by the model Ratcliffe seems to be following.......another 8 years lets say?
  9. Ooof that advert will cover any shortcomings the shirt has, that's class. Agree that the front of the shirt looks great, the back not so much. Better with numbers maybe? Anyway, come take my money you deviously sexy corporate bastards
  10. I wouldn't count on that based on my limited experience with American Healthcare 🍭
  11. Shame since he was on a free. Sounds like he's purely motivated by money, which I don't blame him for but I will hope his career falls to pieces at Chelsea.
  12. Well there's always well grounded quality stuff like this from the BBC to counter the shite from the likes of the Athletic
  13. I'm guessing certain people aren't happy with what Pickford said either. Friendship ended?
  14. You know the season is over when MF digs up 9 year old articles. It is a pretty good one though to be fair to him.
  15. They've got tsunami zones marked out in Oregon too, public warning systems and all that. Mind you there's still schools, hospitals and what not within those areas so not sure exactly how seriously they are prepared. The general American attitude is probably a bigger threat than lack of preparedness tbh. In Texas they seem to be pretty well prepapred for extreme weather, and north Texas does get a lot of it. Sirens go off for hail, tornados. You also get alerts on your phone, and they tell you exactly what the threat and danger is and what time exactly the storm will be where in the area. Quarter size hail, golf ball size, baseball size. Doesn't stop some from pulling out their trucks and driving off as the alarms are going off Just yesterday Dallas got battered by hurricane force winds. I looked out the window for a brief moment and in that time saw at least 3 people get into their trucks, one of them literally feet away from a place where the roof was flapping and about to come down.
  16. Aye it's the FFP that's the main thing here. Don't really mind not playing in the competition other than that. It's bloody typical what's happened though, us losing control of the Europa place right near the end of the season. What pissed me off is that Manu have had our number when it really counts forever, and that hasn't changed in the last two seasons. Can't stand the cu**s. Finishing above them for the first time is a start though.
  17. And 17 in each of the last 2 season. Meh. He's okay if we're getting someone else too and he comes on the cheap (which wont happen) as a 3rd striker.
  18. He'd injure himself in between getting off the bench and walking to the 4th official to be subbed. In other words, he can't be trusted much like Wilson this season. We'd end up hoying Gordon or Barnes up top again.
  19. As a Tolkien fanboy I'm still not over how bad it was. Forget the adaptation, the actors/casting were generally terrible, more out of a teen movie than a supposed epic fantasy.
