  1. I think that's now the truth of it, in terms of, he's now in a place where it's absolutely no "fun", in fact he probably hates it, the stick he gets, the agents and all the s*** that goes around (who's fault that is, is irrelevant) and continuing, with any ambition, is likely to be nothing but very expensive for no guaranteed return. I reckon he's got to the stage of "f*** it" to the point that he wants his wedge back asap at which point he'll get shot if he can, but until then it won't cost him a penny if he can possibly avoid it. We're screwed in the meantime. Bit like buying your dream house but then finding out it's a total money-pit and the neighbours hate you, but you've got it habitable and you can rent it out and recover something.
  2. Of course there is, let's put ticket prices up to the equivalent of Spurs/Arsenal, that'll work well.
  3. It's profitable now, it's not a "worsening" financial position by any stretch and is definitely in that respect, a financial turnaround any way you want to slice it. Whether said profits go back in, of course, is an entirely different matter.
  4. Isandwhala I believe, "no ammunition without a chitty boy" hard to open ammo boxes didn't help. Rourke's Drift hugely bigged up to brush aforementioned massacre out of the headlines, incredible bravery irrespective of that though. Zulu best "war" film ever tbh Lots and lots of those already mentioned to which I would add, The Cruel Sea, Ice Cold in Alex and Reach for the Sky. (oh and Battle of Britain, just to watch/see the planes)
  5. Whilst not making any sense in the real world, the JFK thing could make sense in a parallel universe where he's brought in to make the positions of who Ashley wants gone untenable and to clear house. Expect Dennis Wise now !!!!
  6. Very good Based upon observations of Cisse, I Believe Sharia offside applies the same rules as for Muslim women walking behind their men, so Cisse gets 3 yards ahead of the infidel, only has to be level with a Muslim defender. Chez nailed the serious question btw.
  7. As a total aside - Mate of mine and his Mrs saw Neil Young in the 70's at the City Hall, were sat in the bar debating whether to drink or watch the support (as you do - or as you did back then) decided to sit and drink, as he says they decided at the time "Ah, we'll not bother it's some band called the Eagles, never heard of them"
  8. Not seen anyone for ages (discounting the visit to the Grand Ole Opry) but upcoming - Runrig 40th anniversary gig at Edinburgh Castle on July 20th, train up am, on the sauce, gig, curry, hotel and yem Sunday, should be canny if weathers OK !!!

And......................................... A good PP recipe would be much appreciated, had some great PP in various eateries on our holidays, but to be honest probably the best (amazingly) was some of this we picked up at Wallmart to "give it try", was truly stunningly delish http://jackdanielsme...cts/PulledPork/
  11. I don't presume anything in terms of the data use, i really don't care. The problem is that's always been the case, you only have a problem with this type of stuff if you naively think anyone on the face of the planet is actually free to any great degree, I am of the opinion we are not - hence for example, I can't own a firearm. Cold war quote (I can't remember who from) "The only difference between us and the Russians is, we think we're free, they know they're not". True today as it ever was.
  12. And what buzzwords or hot-words/phrases do said computers search for, thousands likely, multiply by number of times globally the hot-words are committed to (Allah) t'internet (Allah) and your talking fucking massive amounts of sifting, someone at the end of it still has a HUGE mountain to plough through (Allah)
  13. Not at all, I am of the opinion I should be allowed to own a firearm if I so choose, I'm not, I don't lose sleep over it. I do no wrong, nowt to be scared of, except the scum who aforesaid sadly not allowed to have firearm I should be allowed to discharge in their direction should they enter my home.
  14. I care about this, why ???? If they are collecting everything (even this as I type now) that anyone anywhere in the whole world is producing via the social media/computer O/S's etc. in question, even with triggers on buzzwords in search programmes they'd need bazillions of folks employed to go through it. Don't give a shit personally (I'm not a baddy, nowt to hide) they can also stick a drone over my house 24/7/365 for all I care.
  15. You read Erikson's 10,000 page epic ??
  16. Dunno what you mean tbh, the books are superb, there's one (third I think) that's a tad "slow" mainly because a few of the characters you want to hear about don't appear but overall the series is a fantastic piece of work/read.
  17. Can you truly use "sensibly" in a sentence about driving in Italy ??
  18. Was great, would go back at the drop of a hat. If anyone was thinking of going to Memphis I'd do maybe couple of nights, one day and you can do Sun Studios, Civil rights Museum and Graceland and a night or two on Beale Street well more than enough. Until we did Graceland I'd forgotten what a HUGE star Elvis actually was and he had way more money than he knew what to do with, 24 carrat gold buckles on his plane seatbelts (and his taps/bog) FFS !!! and his cars................ wow!!
  19. Holiday done report follows: Memphis – bit of a shithole to be honest, couple of blocks from the centre and there’s grass a foot high growing out of the pavements and broken glass everywhere. Graceland is right in the middle of “da hood” (as I was later told by my barber in Nashville), had an interesting drive there as highway was shut for a major smash and satnav kept trying to take us back to it. Popped into Wallmart down the road from Graceland to pick up some beer/nibbles etc. for the hotel room, it was chocker, Mrs went to restroom so I stood around with trolley and waited and after a few minutes it dawned on me, “I am the only white fucker in here” interesting feeling being a minority with VERY noticeable gangsta types all over the place. Central BBQ, best ribs in the history of my rib eating life EVER. BB Kings Blues Bar, best bar by the country mile, great music (really, really, good bands) brilliant sound system, loud enough to hear crystal clear, but not too loud to not be able to talk. Absolutely shite food. Nashville – truly lovely city, great bars great music (although the propensity for bands with squawky lasses singing wears a bit thin) expensive booze $5 a beer and $7 for a Jack’n’coke. Bands start at 11.00 am through to 1.00 am (2 at weekend) hour or so each band, some bars one band upstairs and one downstairs. AND I could smoke my ceegars in most of them, which was a pleasant change. Best bit - Johnny Cash Museum, went as a sort of “Oh we’re here, we should go and it was on the way to the hotel” was actually quite moving, Mrs had a tear in her eye at the end of it, didn’t help it was Hurt playing at the final exhibits mind. Cabin and Smokey Mountains – Absolutely stunning!!! could easily have stayed another week. Cabin absolute silence and majestic view, 15 minutes away Gatlinburg which is like Aviemore on steroids, 15 mins the other way Pigeon Forge which is like the 192 and International drive in Kissimee/Orlando combined (and a big bit tacky tbh just like the 192). Obviously never get Brits there we were asked “Where you from/Love your accent” literally everywhere we went. Extremely “bible belt” (can’t by liquor in Tennesse on a Sunday and several places are “dry”) but Southern hospitality is not a myth, the people were lovelly BUT everything is VERY slooooow, don’t expect to pay for your petrol in less than 5 minutes per person ahead of you in the queue. Lots do wear dungarees to go out, wear caps have mullets and missing teeth and many variations of strange staring eyes also there really are rocking chairs on all the front porches. Mountains feel very like Central/Western Highlands as does driving through them, single track roads in lots of places less visible rock than Scotland and pointier/higher mountains with forest right over the top of them. Forest like I’ve never seen, walk in 50 yards and you wouldn’t find your way out. Loads of hiking trails (Renton would love it) from 200 yds to 3 miles to various points of interest, but “be bear aware”. (Never did see a bear sadly) Lots of old “homesteads” preserved in the park, amazing some of them like “why’d they settle up here and how the ferk did they get here through this forest etc”. Would deffo go back (not Memphis though)
  20. That's what's pissing me off, the old it "evens out over the season" bollocks. In the direct game between us and Wigan which could have a fundamental effect on "the season" it went against us, that's not going to even out. It's crap, in this day and age that we just accept this shit when there's camera's all over.
  21. If the last minute handball winner at Wigan had been seen, which I still find incredible it wasn't, we'd be just about there an all.
  22. Not looking for a positive spin tbh and I would much rather we stayed up, but in reality it doesn't matter, team will still run out on a weekend and win some/lose some. Was thinking about this over the weekend, Hull fans going mental because they'd come up, fair do's they've achieved something in the competition they were in, but next season they're likely going be on a hiding week in week out, it's all hype over substance.
  23. As someone, thought provokingly, posted on another forum: "The thought of relegation is much worse than the reality" Which if you think about it is true. The team will still play games each week (more often than not on a Saturday) in a competition they realistically have a chance to win, as opposed to playing games all over the shop, each week, in a competition they have absolutely no chance to win. Still rather stop up mind, but quite philosophical otherwise.
