  1. They do and it's a pretty big one. £38 Mill in last 4 years, they're an additional £8Mill up this summer so far.
  2. Your last two posts are about the best summation of HBA I've read Mr G.
  3. Zero fight, apart from when Cabaye wasn't sold to Arsenal. Every teams players are available at the right price when a "richer fish" comes along. What fucking pleasure is there left in modern football, other than maybe watching a game at a weekend, the "big picture" is dead and it's just a self fulfilling prophesy of the rich getting richer, see today's other news from the FA for further proof (if any was needed) of that. Everyone hates Ashley, I get that. Pardew has been shown up big time but no amount of demonstration/protest/rebellion short of it drumming up £270 Mill to buy the club is going to change the first bit, and even then the "big picture" is not going to change (absent a Sheik and dodgy sponsorship deals). Turning SJP into a cauldron against Pardew may change the latter, diluting that with the anti regime stuff is counter productive. The FCB is not "getting out of our club" anytime soon.
  4. To be honest, apart from KK's first manager spell there haven't been that many memorable games per season before or since. Also depends on what constitutes memorable, one of my all time memorable games is drawing 3-3 away at Boro in the 70's, which in truth was an awful game until the 87th/88th minute when we started our comeback from 3-1 down, having been beyond utterly crap for the whole of the game.
  5. I don't disagree with the Pardew comments, he has been badly shown up since Cabaye went (and at times when Cabaye was here). BUT I'd rather win ugly than not win, sadly we seem only to be able to lose ugly just now, to a level, or at a frequency, which cannot be considered "exceptions" (as the Sunderland losses could have been considered at the time).
  6. We were what 5 points off Everton, 3 off Man U, 5 clear of Southampton or thereabouts, that was not bad. Then we imploded. Yeah the striking situation is poor, but not easy to legislate for the previously prolific Cisse completely losing his mojo. As for Remy I don't remember anyone crying about us not owning him when we got him on loan sadly he's scored so many he'll likely be offski to a CL team. Until our implosion, no-one that I recall was up in arms about our striking options.
  7. If we're honest, it only fell down on the sale and non replacement of Cabaye, we were going quite nicely until then.
  8. That's not the policy, that's the lack of application of the policy.
  9. The policy is buy young/hungry with residual value, which is sensible, the application of that policy is as I said more sporadic than it should be. i.e. Yes I think we should have spent more/bought some players in the previous windows.
  10. Transfer policy is NOT a joke, it's quite sensible, the application of aforesaid policy is a little more sporadic than it should be but the underlying policy is what brought us those good players. For every Wullie (doom-monger and naysayer extraordinaire) there's folks like my mates and family, who go every week and NEVER talk about Ashley, the regime etc. Most agree Pardew needs to go, as I do now, but none of them would want us to lose, ever. It's only about watching a game at a weekend, as it should be, to many.
  11. 'I think that his transfer policy is absolutely preposterous' then in the very next paragraph ' We have good players – Debuchy, Coloccini, Yanga Mbiwa, Santon, Sissoko, Anita, Ben Arfa, Marveaux, Cisse'. All signed by the Ashley regime. oops. written by Wullie on N-O who wants us to get humped whenever we play right now.
  12. Oh great!!, the Citeh's and Chelsea's of this world can have an A team and B team plus a couple of more teams (or equivalent of) out on loan.
  13. Have read all the books and doesn't stop me enjoying the show, even if I do know what happens etc.
  14. It's not like, PL is spot on, HBA is a legend in some folks minds, sadly not on the pitch consistently enough when he is played, hence he doesn't get a full game. All that aside, two games in four days for someone of questionable fitness (he's carrying some timber) and having just returned from injury, even if he was Pele it'd be sensible not to start him.
  15. I think so too, but that's what it says in the article, would make no business sense to extend for what the expansion would deliver in terms of return on investment, at anything close to that price. That was probably the price for Shepherd construction to do the work I think, that as well as the casino getting bombed out, there's huge issues because of the Metro being down below, so a "straightforward" build isn't possible.
  16. So it'd cost £300mill to add 10,000 seats (based on prices way back when FFS thought about it) onto the ground, that'd only take about 50-odd years to pay itself back from tickets(not counting interest). Even if a hotel and casino (not allowed) were possible you'd be doing well to half the investment repayment time. Crap article. You could get a whole new stadium for that (Emirates was "only" £390 Mill)
  17. Why would he be bricking it, if there's a drop in revenue, the only cloth that'll get cut accordingly is the clubs.
  18. Am not sure autopilots do much more than fly at this speed, on this heading, at this height until I turn you off, could easily have changed course for any number of reasons and flown right on out to sea I guess. A couple of degrees difference is a huge deal over a long distance.
  19. Slow decompression in weakened area of airframe that effects comms kit (known defect on 777 with an FAA maintenance advisory - hairline cracks) All on board become slowly unconscious due to small failure in aforementioned area of plane and the slow decompression Plane autopilot keeps it going until fuel runs out, i.e. it could have come down anywhere along it's route.
  20. Took them 2 years to find the bulk of the Air France one that went down. Cruising at 6 miles up travelling a 8 miles a minute, could have come down in any direction, huge area to search. If it disintegrated most parts will have sunk and all that would float would likely be extremely small and could have spread hundreds of miles in the descent and in the currents/wind etc. once it hit.
  21. If you want to sack someone, and avoid paying up their contract as in a normal football manager firing, you'd better be onside with employment law
  22. He could be fecked, no doubt the club had a chat with their lawyers about what they could do and came up with the formal warning and fine, I suspect if the FA ban him for a long period, especially if that includes a stadium ban, that could make his position untenable although I'm not sure how any further punishment from the club would play with employment law given it's the one offence.
