  1. I would like a verdict brought into UK of 'Irrefutably Guilty'. With modern forensics, such decisions can be made. Brady. Hindley (sp). Huntley. There are three names that I would have had their owners wiped out, without hesitation. I think such a verdict would be very hard to make. There's always the possibility of contamination of evidence or the police framing you, for instance. Aw come on. Forensic techniques these days are a huge leap forward from "Slipper of the Yard" and fit-ups are incredibly rare. I know lots of Polis and they HATE going to court and giving evidence because they get treat like shit. They've also said because of the nightmare that it is in court, that in cases that do get to trial it's 99.9% certain the defendant is guilty as fuck, and they wouldn't take the shit unless that was the case. I'm not having a go at the police in particular, but it must be at least in the realms of possibility that a bent one (they do exist) would fit someone up if they were as convinced of someone's guilt as you make out. Anecdotal evidence suggests this happens quite a lot in the US. The point I'm trying to make is that miscarriages of justice will always happen, improved forensic evidence may reduce this but won't eliminate it entirely. And there's no going back when you hang someone, or toture someone, for that matter. Agreed, but it would be interesting to find out (but impossible too I would guess) the number of "innocents" found guilty/executed and the number of murderers who kill again upon release (or in prison). If the latter number was higher, the protection of innocents argument favours capital punishment. I don't advocate torture either, just a simple 9mm Nuerofen

That couldn't happen, because I would reckon, if someone was found plain old guilty, their lawyers would suggest that as it wasn't "irrefutable" there must be some doubt, cue lots of appeals
  4. Well, you have to be sure of his guilt and allow him his appeals. This is why it is a myth that capital punishment is a cheaper option than life imprisonment. And even then they get it wrong which is often found out pretty quickly posthumously. I'd like anyone to give me one good reason in support of capital punishment. Murder you're kidding right? so if I'm a yank and carrying a gun, I shoot someone in self defense, but a good lawyer cranks my case up to murder 1 I should fry? I don't think murders deserve death. but to be fair I don't think any country has a legal/penal system that's perfect You're called The Fish, it's your job And no I wasn't kidding, I believe we should reintroduce capital punishment for murder, I wasn't particluarly commenting of the USA (legal system is SOOO ropey) but here. I can't see any jsutification in keeping bastards like those recently convicted of pouring petrol through someone's letter box and setting it on fire, alive. Just my opinion though.

  13. They sponsor the Aussie Cricket team, so the network probably only works during Alice Springs daylight hours. The ringtones are shite as well, they all sound like some bloke blowing down a log, unless you pay for the Rolf Upgrade then you get a choice of wobbly cardboard sounds or you can choose a different stylophone I'll fuck off now
  14. Exactly. I think what people mean is that culture in Britain changes. A hundred years ago, people in this country would go on holiday IN this country. Now? Millions go abroad every year. Is this people losing their culture, or is this culture changing? I would like to know what part of people's culture they think they are losing... Try 30/40 years ago, 100 years ago only the rich had holidays.

  19. Scottish mag, Hearts are debt free as Romanov settled club debts when he became majority shareholder, He also owns Kaunas aswell as Hearts so the money woukd end up at Hearts as they are his priority club. The players are signed to Kaunas and loaned to Hearts for British tax dodging reasons.
  20. Follow Hearts very strongly and go up and see them alot. Hearts are not ****ed aslong as Vlad is in charge, just the other SPl teams like to believe that!. Ok after todays statement Gordon, Pressley and Hartley may never wear a Hearts shirt again but Vlad is clever and will bring cover from overseas. Like somebody says 3 years ago we would have been mid table now we have overtaken Rangers. long may it continue and if a minority of the players aernt happy then let them go elsewhere and let the jambos concentrate on winning the league!.
  21. I was thinking about being a project manager. I was born for it. How did you get into it? it's all about the suit and brolly tbh ............ Working with the Oil industry just now, no suits, casual wear is mandatory, it's fucking brill Best bit is waiting in the said big oil company reception for a meetiing and some suits'll come in having flown in to try and sell them something, the Oil Co guy will come and collect them and he looks like he's just got off a skateboard As for how I got into it, totally by accident, was working on a secondment for a business re-organisation and someone gave me a project to look after (I was in middle management stuff before that) and then another etc etc

    Sickies

They had that rule at some of the accountancy firms in America - KPMG for example. No sick entitlement at all, so you had to use your holidays if you were ill!? Thankfully PwC weren't that stupid. From what my pals over the pond say, they get a vacation allowance and so many sick days on top, which thay can use anytime. If however they go over the sick days allowance then it's no pay. At least I can work from home, like today (I'm not sick BTW just working from home)
