  1. He's now dropped form 3rd to 4th Shola has been playing at the top level for years alongside some world class strikers and he still doesn't know when to head the ball down i.e Charlton game a while back, Nobby had to tell him. He's a thick, lazy donkey So basically you've just said what I was going on about - whining about him not being good enough for years. He played really well last year - just accept it. Why doubt him when he hasn't had the chance to prove he's still a "thick, lazy donkey"? Some of the stick he gets is hilarious.
  2. Yup. No other Newcastle fan would get so offended when someone calls them "Manure" tbh.
  3. I expected hoped we'd make a good fist of it and not look pathetic as we do whenever we lose.
  4. Bench: Pav, Bramble, Ramage, Onyewu, Luque Three defenders and no Carroll on the bench. Also chances are we're playing 4-5-1 with Oba up front alone... EDIT: Carroll aparently in instead of Bramble. Bramble basically gone then.
  5. By jetting around the world, does he mean commute to London every other week to be a pundit on MOTD?
  6. Now I don't think Edgar is anything special, but he's certainly better than Huntington to start off with. Wonder when our great manager will see this. Why don't they loan Carroll out also? Either play him or loan him - don;t just stick him on the bench and occasionally bring him on for the last five minutes.
  7. It's okay, Glenn can rotate him with Butt just for extra effect.
  8. All this whining people have at Shola is pathetic really. He played really well last year, until his injury really kicked in but we can accept that. People can't accept he's improving and has done nothing at all to warrant all this hate. I persoanlly don't think he's a particularly gifted player but he has his merits and he proved that he CAN score goals last year. I think he would be a fine fourth choice striker and hope he'll be better than before when he returns. Whenever I've seen people whining about him they have always referred to him being crap for his first five years, and forgetting that's getting less and less relevant now.
  9. He's right, but this makes me want us to beat Portsmouth more than ever now.
  10. He should get some playing time in our remaining games, certainly ahead of Luque. And sometimes Sibierski and Dyer also. He's got to be better at finishing than them.
  11. To be fair, we couldn't not support Sevilla after all those fine things they did for us last year.
  12. Carroll scores again. Hopefully he gets a good chance in the first team before long.
  13. Reminds me of the 7-1 win over Spurs. Shame we won't be able to play again like that for maybe decades.
  14. It's an average film that has its moments. Hardly a slice of comedy genius as some would have you think. Though Simon Pegg is very funny. And I quite liked Hot Fuzz, though it got a bit ridiculous at times.
  15. Nowhere near anyone else in his team as they ahd no clue how to find him. Hardly his fault.
  16. Think we were overall the better team, and there were some good performances. Good in defence, but very poor in the final third - can be said for both teams.
  17. Aye, he's a great captain, but his average as captain is far from world-class - add to that a lot of the big totals have come against teams like Bangladesh and terrible West Indies sides.
  18. He was excellent yesterday. The finish wasn't easy and was superbly executed. His play otherwise was really good too - would have been a great goal too when he hit the post.
  19. FREDDY SHEPHERD (Newcastle chairman) WHO IS YOUR FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR? Liverpool's Steven Gerrard remains the best midfielder in England. His commitment, energy and ability have again made Liverpool a major power on the Champions League stage. WHO IS YOUR UNSUNG HERO? Unfashionable Reading are the Premiership's surprise package. Steve Sidwell typifies their grit and determination. WHO HAS PRODUCED THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE SEASON? Several of Ronaldo's outstanding displays have caught the imagination, not least his virtuoso showing in Manchester United's 4-0 win against Spurs at White Hart Lane. WHO IS THE BEST EMERGING YOUNGSTER? Arsenal's Cesc Fabergas gets better with every game and it is hard to believe he's still only 19. And we've unearthed an outstanding young defender in Steven Taylor.
  20. I'm not sure. He got 45 against Canada and 26 against New Zealand as well as the odd run in a couple of other games. Slightly more than I thought then, but average still less than 12 if I'm right. Should bat lower down the order tbh.
