Edgar - Bassong - Colo - N'Zogbia I suspect Charlie might be pushed into midfield as Duff will probably have to play up front with Owen... Should be an interesting team selection anyway. You are forgetting that Stroller is back. I reckon Given Edgar-Colo-Bassong-N'Zog Jonas-Butt-Guthrie-Duff Shola-MO

Saw the picture and thought it was Owen..

Film/moving picture show you most recently watched

Went to watch 'Role Models' at the flicks last night.. Very funny movie. Even the usually unfeasibly bad 'Stiffler' bloke was canny! -
19 is his best so I recall and that was some time ago. He's scored 18 league goals twice in the PL iirc. Although both times that made him joint top scorer in the PL as well. Presumably he's got more than 20 in all comps on at least one occasion. Getting back to what you said previously, I actually think (used in the right way - like the deeper role KK gave him) there actually is more to his game than 'just' goals. I can't help thinking that's a bit academic as far as NUFC is concerned though. He scored 38 in 01/02 (including England games)

He's 13 and capable of reasoned thought. IMHO what he was saying was the thoughts of a young lad that has been very very let down by a father who can't even recognise him on the phone. My father wasn't around much and I had my mother bleating about it and I quickly came to the same conclusion that Regan has - that the best place to be is to distance yourself emotionally - so that you are numb to potentially hurtful things. Like Craig said if this was a different alcoholic, abusive, embarrassing Joe Bloggs the lad would be patted on the back.
-
All Regan sees is his Dad being an alcoholic abusive man who has beaten his mother and rarely seen his only biological son when he has been sober. He obviously feels totally let down by him. It's no wonder he feels the way he does when he recites memories of Gazza eating a bag of sweets, throwing up in the bag and then continuing to eat them. Paul Gascoigne is one of the most (if not THE most) talented footballer I ever had the pleasure to watch in the flesh. The fact that his life has turned out the way it has is extremely sad. However, if this wasn't Gazza and simply a 'Joe Bloggs' with a drinking and mental health issue, people would probably pat the kid on the back for being strong-willed and forming his own opinion. That's spot on for me.
-
I think he's entirely beyond help, but people very rarely hear home truths and no father would like to hear what Reagan had to say about Gazza. If he watches it even remotely sober, perhaps there is a tiniest possibility he might actually realise that his kids are worth getting better for.

Not sure to be honest, there aren't that many cheating diving keepers around... Could be an indirect free kick...

I agree in principle but I actually thought that Butt and Guthrie were excellent today. Jose looks like a proper player!

The Official Portsmouth Vs Newcastle United Thread
donaldstott replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
I would agree with most of what you say except for that I thought Enrique had a good game especially in defence. There was a number of times we would have been right in the shite had he not covered for the two centrebacks. And I thought we looked the most likely to take the lead pretty much from the off. They were getting in a few digs early on but not from particularly worrying positions whereas we had a number of good chances (Beye in particular should have scored). All in all I couldn't be happier with the outcome of this one. We desperatley needed to start winning games away from home and if we can beat these then there's no reason why we can't go to places like West Brom, Stoke, Blackburn, Hull & Spurs full of confidence. Mind you as it happen I've seen Portsmouth a foew times this season and they have looked crap each time (and that includes when Redknapp was there). They badly miss Muntari. I thought Jose had a decent game as well, I also thought that Shola did really well when he came on. -
We are always on the lookout for good referees in the CCL. Its a North Tyne league so we play in Hazelrigg, Bullocksteads, Brunswick etc. Wooooaaahhh hold up there... I never said I was any good!
-
They've started insisting on doing tax returns for the extra earnings... It turns out my refereeing business is not very profitable. I made a £67 loss last year.

How many units of alcohol do you consume in a week ?
donaldstott replied to Jimbo's topic in General Chat
Had nowt last night. Saturday on the other hand I racked up 31.74. -
I don't know how much you get in the south like, but it's just £15 a game here plus expenses. That John willget you fixed up, but if he doesn't for whatever reason there's a young lad called Paul Mosley on Nazi's Online who knows a lot of the refereeing fraternity. I knew that north/south pay gap thing was a myth.... I get £26 a game £30 for cup matches.

Cheers mate!

Sky Plussed it - Went to watch and Arsenal vs Wigan came on... Bag of shite!!
-
Does anyone know who to contact about Sunday League in Newcastle (preferably Gosforth area). I referee down south and could quite fancy doing a game when I'm up for xmas. Ta
-
We're not having one. There are four people in my office, two directors and two account managers. One of the acount managers is being made redundent (last day is xmas eve). They felt perhaps she wouldn't be up for celebrating!!
