Pretty grim stuff and the article on the Beeb about the knock on consequences was spot on. It's an impossible task to compete internationally in these industries anymore.

Right- we're aiming to dine at Red Mezze (http://www.redmezze.co.uk/default.aspx) probably around about 6-7 on the Sat eve and possibly going down to Ouseburn if the town is rammed as suspected. Who's in then?
-
Will be rattling around town from 12/12.30ish.

Don't rule out Leicester. Mandaric has thrown a lot of money at them and won't be averse to bolstering the squad in January, whereas we'll be looking to ship out any player we get a decent offer for. If we can retain (or even strengthen) our squad in January then we should be OK. We haven't had a widespread injury crisis as yet and we'll have to hope that holds out until the end of the season.

Sounds like you should ask your mum.

Teams go down because they can't score. WBA didn't improve their strikeforce when they came up- they outplayed teams at times but could not take their chances.

Is there going to be a payment portal which would allow payment by Mastercard / Visa? I have zero cash but a penchant for racking up credit card debt so that would be perfect.

NUST won't want the scheme to be too successful too quickly with this. If they somehow raise £150m then Ashley will know this. As soon as there is serious traction, then they need to show proof of funds, do due diligence and agree a price- quickly. Then there will be a period in which to raise the funds. If supporters know that the ink has dried on an unfunded deal it will be 10 times easier to attract funds that throwing money into a blind alley. I think £2,500 is well pitched and will appeal to fans based abroad (unlike the pensions side). NUST have done well to get such an interest from financial institutions. The Liverpool and Man Utd financing sagas have put most off touching football clubs with a bargepole.

'Astley for Ashley' Ashley said that he'd sell up After he had took us down Now he's renamed the ground The bastard Lambias says that we're skint But they wont just take the hint Termintate your woeful stint Of disaster

They could easily install it in the SW corner. All the boxes there are vacant this season and a screen could easily be installed at the back, with only a dozen rows or so affected.

You need some VSTs and there are thousands of free ones out there. What sort of sounds are you looking for? VSTs will just plug straight into Cubase. Try http://www.kvraudio.com/ which has a searchable database of instruments.

Ready to eat? Is that possible?

There's cover on all 4 sides of the ground, how can you get that wet? Were you planning of parking in Deleval?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbys...11-bankers.html Rather than work there for a living, I'm going to hang around in the lifts and collect any twenties that fall out of their pockets. This Polverino feller was hired on £7m a year. Seven fucking million. It's a bit weird to think that a guy working downstairs from our lot is earning more than a Premiership footballer.

The Govt was always going to struggle with Wilders- they are used to views against the impact of Islam eminating in the form of a rant from the Griffin's National Front in Suits. Let him speak then agree or disagree with him. One of the reasons our extreme political groups have gained such ground in recent years is that we are shit scared of having a calm and reasonable debate about what issues of race and religion mean for our society and how we can ensure that personal freedoms are maintained- including the right to a faith.

Using that logic we'd have made £13m in 07/08. The club made a pre-tax loss of £34m, intimating that there are £47m of additional costs (though some will be one-offs and player depreciation messes things up somewhat). So chuck in £90m over three seasons and it doesn't look so good.
-
They can easily raise £50m by asking every man, woman and child in the country to donate £1 on the agreement that no one will ring that fucking bell ever again.

Of course it's the weekend of the 19th/20th. Ignore Fishy. Would a curry do the job?

Seeing as the BBC has intervened with what is the traditional 'anywhere but Gotham Town' pre-Christmas pissup, I thought I'd kick off a thread for those like me who rely on booking things months in advance in order to stay solvent. Given our esteemed organiser now has considerable other priorities, I'm happy to sort out general carry-ons. Not sure whether it would be best to stick to Saturday night anyway? Suggestions from the floor......

Peterborough United 2-0 Newcastle United (League Cup R3)
Matt replied to Tom's topic in Newcastle Forum
John Anderson was having fits at Lua Lua for not passing the ball? He did get his head stuck down a few times, but we'd have lost possession if we passed it anyway. I also heard someone having a right go at Raylor- even though he was playing on his wrong foot! I don't recall anyone else putting in a decent cross all night. Our passing was generally abysmal- repeated low cross-field balls that were always going to be cut out and a total lack of incision in the final third. They pressed hard and we simply got in each others way until sooner or later someone made a mistake. I would highlight Lovenkrands as a particular disappointment last night. Ranger and S Taylor our better players for me. -
He's looked woeful when I've seen him in the past. Looked suspect in the FA Cup game at Blyth last season. But I guess this is what it's come to.

Do somewhere like Cov G / Holborn as it's central and easy to get to from Kensington on the tube.

He wont get £100m if no-one is turning up for games.
