  1. I can hit keys badly and sing worse. Take your picks.
  2. Papa Laz reckons getting a studio should be a piece of piss.

    Dyer

Maybe he'll fulfil his potential by the time he gets to 33.
  4. Agree with 2J, he's been outstanding for a few seasons now. I had thought he was older than he is, I reckon he would be a very astute signing.
  5. Big fan of Baroque stuff. Harpsichords are where it's all at tbqfh.
  6. Admittedly, spread-betting on banking shares is not exactly the greatest deal on the planet, this has nothing to do with the club. And if his contract for difference on the HBOS shares is longer-term, he could be very, very wealthy in 3 years time although margin on his account will use up a lot of his funds. Losing £129m is shitty, but it happens. It's not such a blow when you still have hundreds of millions in the bank in cold, hard cash. Didn't Ashley rake in about £60m on Adidas shares in a few weeks?
  7. Names, names, names. Come on now.

    TORNADO

Like the finger-wobble, as if that makes any difference to the sound.
  9. Did Courtney get his job on the basis of him being able to impersonate Sir John Hall?
  10. If we sign him, The Chronicle can pay the fee by laying off their headline monkeys.
  11. In many ways an inspired appointment, he's a media darling. Still needs a proper tactician alongside him though.
  12. I am in because I can't be arsed to go out and watch the F1. Should be an interesting sleep pattern tonight/today.
  13. If you've got 3 weeks you can get out and see a lot of the UK. Don't spend more than a day on the typical London sights- they'll all be rammed with snap-happy tourists and once you've seen them, you can tick them off your list and forget about it. Far more interesting things in London that are much more interested but a little off the beaten track. Markets, little squares, tiny museums which open for a few hours a day, ancient churches, all infinitely better than gawping at Buckingham Palace or queueing 12 hours to get on that fucking wheel. Visit the parks. Find some travelling mates and have a BBQ in the park in the sun with some beers. Victoria Park in Hackney is quite nice (and is massive). Loads of good nights out but it depends what you're after. Old Street/Shoreditch is pretty interesting and not as expensive as other parts (west end ripoff merchants) although by day it seems to need a lick of paint (looks like a shit-tip). Heading up the east coast, York and Newcastle are certainly worth a visit. Sheadloads of history and great architecture. I'd throw in Durham Cathedral as well- amazing structure. They're all stops on the East Coast Main Line which you can get from Kings Cross. Coastal walks up Northumberland are a must. It's not as easy to get to but I really like the Peak District too- little towns like Buxton and Bakewell, depends how much of the country you want to cover. If you're up for 3 weeks then travel practicalities permitting you really should visit Scotland- part of the highlands are just breathtaking. Just don't tie yourself down to one place for too long, plan it well, book train tickets asap (you'll save a fortune).
  14. I'm absolute garbage. I can hit a volley OK and my first touch is pretty useful- unlike my second or third touched. I don't usually get a fourth. Can't head, can't run. At work we play a bit of 5-a-side but my fitness is so poor it passes me by. I can look a little less pathetic out on a full-size pitch.
  15. Is penis pasta served with grated knob cheese?
  16. My period off the drink lasted a day. It was a long day.
  17. Enrique can get a bit too comfortable on the ball and get himself into trouble, though to be fair to him he got himself out of it as well. Think he made a good impact yesterday. Zog should start for Duff, the only real replacement for Barton is Geremi.

Agree with Alex on that. What you have to do is look at all the teams down there, I think we've got enough in us to finish above one of them. If we were cut adrift that we've be staring down the barrel, as it is I think we have to be positive, accept that yesterday we were decent but wasteful and paid the price. Or we could go off into a spiral of despair and call everything and everyone worse than shit.
  19. My train gets in at 12 so someone wants to get themselves out!

    Happy Birthday!
  21. No it was the season Sunderland got promoted the first time into the PL, IIRC. Think they beat Millwall 5-0 or 6-0 and Millwall went into freefall after that.
  22. What we should have done is told Ashley to fuck off and spent £20-30m on proven internationals by using the money we didn't have at the bank because the massive overdraft wasn't really there. And as we had that sponsorship with Northern Rock we could have just asked for another cushy loan as they're a solid line of credit. And we wouldn't have had to worry about being technically insolvent because all that really matters in results on the pitch. Seeing as we had a manager with minimal knowledge of the current transfer market we could have relied on some mates to recommend a centre half, maybe one from a former club who has seen him do well. He might even be French and could one day even play for Juventus, he'd be that good. Check out some of the 'shite' 17-year olds current league leaders Arsenal have signed in recent years. Not all a success, but bang for buck it's undeniably good business on and off the pitch.
