Any motivation I had for this game is swiftly dissipating. Likely to line up: Given, Babayaro, Taylor, Boumsong, Carr, Milner, Parker, Faye, Jenas, Bowyer, Shearer. Yeah, bags o'goals there.

I find it amazing that a club who had a competitive start before most is last past the post in terms of transfer arrangements. Actually, no I dont find it amazing at all. It's typical.

I have some sympathy for Gate Gourmet. OK, their handling of the lay-offs was horrendous, but they are in an awful situation. BA obviously didnt see the catering operations as efficient of profitable so they get someone else to do it, offer them even less money (otherwise they'd be doing it themselves) and expect service to continue as normal. A lot of these outsource/sell-off's are simply a bankruptcy waiting to happen. Regardless of the union talks, it looks like every Gate Gourmet employee will be out of a job before long, without any kind of severance package either.

They really should have worked something out with the union first, unofficial action leaves them with little protection. Maybe they are a little pampered, they should try working for someone like Ryanair!

I've never liked Bowyer, not when he was at Leeds, not at West Ham and I've been far from his biggest fan since he arrived here. However even I would have to admit he seems to be playing his best football in years at the moment and Charlton clearly sniff a bargain.

Diagnosis Murder is brilliantly shite. It fills all the possible stereotypes. -The doctors spends more time solving crimes than their day job. -There's a young, naive sidekick with 80s hair who makes godd suggestions but not as good as the main sleuth. -It's never the obvious killer. -They always catch them before they can do some other dastardly deed. It's never like "Damn, if we were 2 minutes earlier she wouldn't have stabbed his eyes out with that toothpick". It's Doogie Hauser meets A Touch of Frost meets an apocalyptic budget cut.

I can't wait to go back to uni either. My problem is that I've finished and am now out in the allegedly real world. Dammit.

I was hoping he'd turn out tonight in the Academy game at Blyth, but the lad in the sticks tonight was Fraser Forster. In case anyone cares, Blyth won 1-0 with a late close range finish. Not a great game. That James Triosi is rapid and looks a decent player, no one else really stood out though.
