1. Apparently it was a data entry error- they meant to set odds at 35/1. Someone wellied £100 on at 350 apparently and can make a killing laying it off on the exchanges.
2. That is mindboggling. I had our logic worked out on the fact we knew we could nail him on a loan. It's not time to be picky about contract duration, if he puts his name on any kind of contract we should be doing backflips through hoops.
3. The wide road that starts at the roundabout next to the St James Metro car park between the brewery and the old bus station. Pretty sure Jackie Milburn's statue ia still along there. Good luck if you have to cross the road diagonally at the lights at the bottom of Westgate Road. It took me 5 minutes last time, 6 sets of bloody lights!
4. old board? eh? whats that then? can you find a copy of the thread eh? Oh thank you HTT for that slip of the finger which removed all trace. 16963 Local copy

No- what you've just fitted are filters. 'Filter' is a misleading name- really it's a splitter.

It will be, due to reduced noise on the line.

Did you install them? They send two because you need one on every phone point- so say you have your main home phone and internet in one downstairs and another phone upstairs you'd need one on both.

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/in...oduct_uid=39530 Those will be fine as long as the socket isn't in a cramped location, otherwise you may need one with a bit more flexibility.

I take it you've got microfilters, is that correct? Hell of a first post, this one. 16712 what's microfilters? 16833 A microfiler splits the voice and data communications down different strands of the phone cable. Otherwise the signals will interfere. Simply bit of kit really. You need a microfilter on every phone socket you use. Don't buy them from Dixons etc either- get on ebuyer or a local independent PC shop.

I have BTBroadband "512k" but I'm getting 2K downstream. Most likely they sent something to my dad and he just chucked it. Had Pipex down in Lancaster- scarily fast at times.
13. "To be fair to the lad, the Chairman and I have never heard of him."
14. Glen Roeder, the bargain bucket option till the end of the season, then Shearer. I'd like to laugh that off, but it seems far too plausible.
15. It's just that I have it from a source I trust that Stuttgart were prepared to pay up to 7m Euro for him after the initial bid of a loan with an option to buy was rejected. 16643 7m Euros straight cash? Seeing as we were valuing Viana at £4.5m in the Luque deal, we wouldn't have turned that down* *Please note, the above point used conventional business logic. Any use of such logic by NUFC is purely coincidental.
16. No changes until the transfer window slams shut. Crucially, the international break that saw the end of Bobby is just around the corner as well. I don't think we've got much to gain by sacking Souness unless we have a real top coach lined up. I don't rate him as a manager but who else will we get in? I'd sooner have a crap manager who we can get shot of in June than another one sitting on a five year deal. Unlike with Bobby, Shepherd cannot get rid of the manager to hide the blame, it's clear everyone has seen through that now and removing the manager will only leave Shep more exposed. I should also add in Fred's defence, that the decision to sack Bobby Robson was made by the Halls. I think it's more likely Souness will walk to salvage what is left of his battered reputation.
17. But he will expect Viana to do relatively well in Spain and Valencia to have the readies if they want to make the deal permanent. Let's hope they do. Going to Germany was perhaps seen as less of a risk- also there is the desperation factor setting in as we get nearer the window.
18. Why is it our money ? It isn't. Once you've bought something from the club, it's theirs. 16535 As a fact that is undeniable. However it can be argued that fans have pumped money in with the expectation that will actually spend some on players. While the board are entitled to spend that cash as they see fit, they should not be surprised if the supporters reciprocate by watching games in the pub from next season.
19. So Le Guen didn't take that job after all then.
20. Unless by 'luck' he means 'play someone who has half a chance of getting a goal'. We could still be playing now and we wouldn't have found the net.
21. Hey! a beer with us aint that bad! 15600 Talking of which, when I heard you weren't around after the game I considered the possibility that you had followed the idea of offering your services to Souness and were undergoing a medical at the first opportunity.
22. I left proceedings to catch the 10PM number 43 bus, but Papa Laz and Bridget may still be debating the merits of masculine and feminine words in foreign languages. No, I'm not sure how we arrived at that either, but it was better than talking about the game.
23. So this writer is claiming we will sign a £1m goldfish in addition to the arrival of Luque? No, thought not, just another two-bit website scribe happy to draw any parallel their limited footballing knowledge can find.
24. I don't get this, we'll offer the asking price in cash but we're so desperate to cut the wage bill that we'll send another player back their way as well?
