Duff was a great signing. N'Zogbia's the most exciting young player we've had at the club for years. Our midfield looks pretty amazing. Ameobi's been on great form recently and this will continue without Shearer playing alongside him. Martins will be good. We have one of the best keepers in the league. Taylor's going to show why he was England's U19 captain at 16 with some amazing performances. These will help Bramble play up to the level we know he can. That's if World Cup scoring hero Moore doesn't keep either of them out of the team. We can sign Bridge in January.

Although there are probably outside reasons for it, Alan Pardew is hardly the best known manager in the world yet he probably made the two best Premiership signings this summer. Money speaks a lot louder than most things. Players will have seen how we struggled under Souness and that reflects on the club rather than him. I don't think we paid over the odds for Martins. He's 21 and he's done well, when he's played, for Inter. They've just bought Ibrahimivic for lots of money which they needed to recoup some of, they did this by selling one of their reserve strikers. How nice would it be to have a reserve striker of Martins' quality ? Roeder has an amazing track record with youngsters and I'm sure we'll be seeing that this year - mainly because we now need to play them. N'Zogbia will be PFA Young Player of the Year this season.

I've just head (from a mate, I'm not ITK) that we're thinking of signing Rangers' Kris Boyd for around £4m. He also mentioned a few other clubs were in for him too. Has anyone else heard this or am I being wound up after our last GREAT signing from the Gers ? I don't have any fancy bins, bags or crates to put my recycling in; I just have to take it to the supermarket with me. It's very silly, though, there's no place to recycle plastic bags (I remember shopping with my mum and there used to be such a thing) so the normal bin is packed full of them.
