  1. Who are we to wag the finger and say they were negligent, seriously...... Are we all perfect enough (and I'm talking about the ones of us on here who are parents) that we've never had a situation where our kids have been out of our sight long enough for someone to snatch them? I know that I can't say hand on heart that I've never left my kids in a position where they could be abducted. I've popped out to get something from my car and left them in the house - what's to stop someone coming in from the back and nabbing one of them? How many people blamed Denise Fergus for leaving her son outside a butcher's shop while she went in and bought some meat for their family dinner? Her son just happened to be James Bulger and we all know what happened to him. Yet I can't recall one finger being pointed in the direction of his mother as a cause (even indirectly) to his abduction. Why are the McCann's being berated and she isn't? I presume its because she turned her back for a split second rather than going off to a tapas bar for 20 mins and was not doing something which could be classed as a 'social activity'. My personal opinion here is that I think it is almost certain the villa was being watched. The room she was in was locked and the window had been forced to gain entry. The crime here isn't neglect, it's abduction. If the parents had been in another room in the apartment and someone had broken in through her window and exited with her, would that be their fault as well? I think what they did (by leaving her) is morally VERY questionable. A very BIG mistake. But the criminal action is by the abductor/s and that must be pursued.
  2. Witch-hunt is perhaps not the right word, and I wasn't referring to specifically on here.... But the fingers are beginning to be pointed and I personally find the whole situation uncomfortable.
  3. The witch-hunt that the media frenzy has whipped up is ridiculous... Many people have already tried and convicted the McCanns before they've even been charged with anything. What if it is a load of bollocks? Try to put yourself in a situation where not only is a child of yours missing, but that people are (possibly) falsely pointing the finger at you for being responsible. I can't speak for others but it would destroy me. So Kate McCann does look like she's acting a bit odd - her kid's been snatched for fuck's sake and grief and trauma affect people in diffferent ways. Far too many people are too quick to judge these days - if there's conclusive proof they've done something, THEN show your disgust of them. Trying to think rationally and given the amount of media hype around them for that first 4-6 weeks after her disappearance, there's no way in my mind that they could have transported her in that car without someone noticing.
  4. No offence Craig, but I think you or her would be daft putting your shirts on, whichever end you sit in. Of course there might just be banter, but there might not, and why take the risk for the sake of wearing a football shirt? Besides if you sit in the away end in a toon top, there's a very good chance you'll be escorted out of the place. She might get away with it in the home end, but I really don't see the point in risking it. 95% chance that it'll be in our end - even if she gets the tickets, it'll be from someone who gets them for the toon end. As for her not putting her shirt on, that's down to her - she'll be OK man, she'll probably have 5 layers on top of it given it's November and she's not from up there
  5. He could be on his hols...
  6. Are the press going to report on every minor bump that Hammond has now? Fuck's sake, they're really struggling for news, aren't they?
  7. In all honesty Dr Ken, I doubt there'll be much if any grief. I reckon there'd be more chance if he was a Blue Nose who was tagging along to a Newcastle v Liverpool game. On the whole, we seem to have more respect for Liverpool than we do Everton in the same way we do for Arsenal rather than Spuds.
  8. You off in search of the lesser-spotted Borders Mag Pud??
  9. I'll be going to the Liverpool match in November with a red scouser in tow. Not quite sure which end we'll be sitting in yet either but we'll both be in our respective shirts I can't see why there'd be any aggro - bit of banter perhaps. Anyway, if he has Reds tendancies, surely he'll be screaming for us anyway?
  10. .com Try getting out of that one you fat useless lard-arse.... (No doubt Leazes will have an answer for it though - will probably say we've editted Freddy's statement )

    Passports

I'm referring to the fact that it's doubled in price in 10 years. And what difference is there in passports since then? Just one - they print your scanned signature in instead of you signing it on receipt of it. But now you bring it to attention, think about it i layman's terms. You're paying £6.60 a year to provide them with information that they already can readily obtain for nothing.... More to the point, if you have a family of 2 adults and 2 kids who need their passport renewing, that's £264!! Little bit different when you were able to have one passport per family, isn't it?
  13. 30?? Fucking hell I thought he was older than me......by at least 3 years! Happy birthday Sammy
  14. He's been offered what he's been offered. If he's true to his word, he'll sign the contract. If he doesn't sign it, then his salary is more important to him and off he'll go. N'Zog and Milner are nearer 1st team selection (both in terms of ability and in comparison to their peers), IMO...

£51 I think Jon, it's just gone up this year...... And if they bring in further biometrics, expect that to shoot up even more!
  16. So fucking what? Steven Taylor keeps going on about the fact that playing for Newcastle United is the most important thing to him. If that's true then sign the contract and shut the fuck up!!!

    Facebook

The press are making more of this than they need to tbh. Until you accept someone as a 'friend' on there, all they can see of you is a thumnail image (doesn't show much) and the list of friends you having. It's not like they're allowing access to private information FFS!

tbh Laz, I'm trying to persuade work that I need to make a business trip abroad - that way it'll be paid for me

So because America charge that much, it's OK for us to do it is it?? Didn't realise it works like that.... It fucking stinks if you ask me, all the details that exist on your passport are already in the government's hands to start with, they just charge you an extortionate amount every 10 years to 'confirm' that detail with them. When you consider it's nearly doubled in price in the last 10 years, do you find that acceptable? Will you be happy paying around £130 in 10 years time?

    Passports

Mine expired last month so i've just looked into getting it renewed..... Sixty-six fucking quid!!! Are they taking the piss or what?? OK it might have been 10 years ago, but I am sure I didn't pay more than 35 notes last time for one. We're all supposed to part of the European Union anyway so why the hell is it so high? Surely they should offer different levels of passport these days, one for EU only and one for the rest of the world. All joking aside, no wonder there's a whole load of illegal immigrants in this country.
  21. It is rather old....... (they won't get that bit neither.....)
  22. Surprisingly you can easily get 2 decent sized adults in the back seat. No way you'd get a third though... Terrible looking car, abortion tbh. Cougar afterbirth I was of the same opinion until I got in one. For once they've actually done a decent job and not simply angle-ground the roof off it. I personally wouldn't get one but she's always wanted a convertible and had the opportunity to get one so why not? A bloke driving a convertible is the cardinal sin i reckon, something I'd expect of J69 though Easy on the 'driving' line because I'm intending to have a blast in it. Agree with you if you're talking about owning one though... I'm looking at the Golf GT Sport for my next car
  23. You can get a book on it by J.R. Hartley you know.... EDIT: Just realised that about 70% of the people on here won't get that reference at all
