When this happens, there'll be a placeholder in place to on the front page which will direct you to the temporary forum (the old toonchat to those of you who remember it).

Due to the problems encountered earlier today, we're planning to perform an upgrade this evening which we hope will result in things running a lot more smooth and hopefully ensure that we don't experience it in the future. Until the upgrade is applied we've taken the decision to temporarily close unecessary forums and for the time being only the Newcastle Forum, General Chat, Help & Football Games forums are open. The other forums will re-enabled once the upgrade is complete and no historic data will be lost. Thanks.

Actually a very good way of describing him! And as people have said, he is showing up Roeder and his lot with every passing day. Its also worth noting that if it weren't for Chelski being cheap this year we'd also have Haim in the bag and possibly Sidwell, and he said if he'd been earlier he would have been interested in Distin. So we could have been sitting here with 6 or 7 players in for hardly anything at the start of July! But none of them are world class! we're not even european class at the moment, we're going to struggle to bring in the likes of kaka and messi for at least a few years, what we need now is exactly what we're getting, a squad You reckon?? If you're keen to 'have a go' the building your own PC is a good learning curve. But then you have to be prepared to get your hands dirty and 'fault-find' if things go wrong (or be prepared to fork out silly money for not a lot of work). If you want something that simply 'works' and needs as little hands-on maintenance as possible and is covered for 12 months, buy a Dell.

It's akin to the whole situation with Michael Owen as well. I couldn't give a flying fuck if he has no affection for the club, just as long as he puts in 100% effort everytime he represents us. I have no affection for my current employers and if someone came along and offered me a more attractive package for the same or more money, i'd be off like a shot. I still put my all into the job though. I'm afraid this is a legacy of us signing Shearer and 'bringing him home'. A lot of the fans expect other players to have the same affection and reasoning for coming to Newcastle as he did. He was a one-off case in that respect though. Don't agree with that. What's annoying about the whole Owen thing is that he cost us a huge transfer fee, plus massive wages and he's hardly played for us. Now he's got us over a barrell with the release clause he insisted was put in his contract, which means he could fuck off on 31st August and leave us in the shit. I couldn't give a stuff if we weren't his first choice, but instead of hedging his bets he should make his intentions clear to Allardyce so we have time to find a suitable replacement if needed. And who says he hasn't??? The press?? This is the same press who said he'd never sign for Newcastle United in a million years remember. And anyway if he does go, are we seriously that much in the shit? Gudjohnsen is a serious possibility from all accounts and we have Martins and Viduka as well. What happens if he claimed he was staying and then left anyway? Would that make it any different?? The soundbites coming from Allardyce suggest he hasn't. Martins may very well be off to Arsenal and who says that Gudjohnsen would still be available if we waited until 31st August? And if he claimed he was staying then left anyway he'd be seen as a bigger arse than a lot of Toon fans see him already. Who says we're waiting for Gudjohnsen? From all accounts, we're after him now. Personally I think this thread needs to be allowed to fall down the list. If we sign Baines, resurrect it but arguing about bannings and apologies is doing no-one any good.

I'd go with what Jimbo says and look to buy a pre-built Dell - given the fact I work with PCs all week, the last thing I want to is build one at home but I can understand why some people do want to. just bear in mind that with a pre-built machine, you'll get your 12 months warranty if anything goes wrong and also the beauty of a Dell is that the service tag is your passport to all the information you'll need. All you have to do is enter it on their website and it'll give you all the information you need about your machine and all the drivers for all operating systems.
