Not true actually... When all this kicked off back in January, Strachan commented that he had 'issues' with Bellamy when he was managing him at Coventry... I have heard rumours that the reason Celtic didn't make a permanent move for him was because Strachan vehemently didn't want him - never heard that bit confirmed though...

Puff! 36605 Oh look, we've got a curry 'hard man' who won't eat a curry any milder than a vindaloo.... Taste-buds are fucked then? 36614 Not at all, would never go beyond a Madras personally, and I'm not really that keen on curries full stop. But I thought Korma was exclusively for girls? 36633 Puff!

We can't all be IT dweebs. 36486 And some of us have to be 'IT dweebs' supporting the financial applications for the accountants.... They've got to be the biggest bunch of arrogant bastards I've ever come across (speaking from experience ).. Not an ounce of common sense, if it doesn't involve money, they don't want to know! 36499 I've got news for you - anything IT-related is about as far removed from common sense as it gets. I bet you've got a comedy ringtone like the IT dweebs here though. 36502 "Ring-ring" The last 'comedy ringtone' heard in our office resulted in the phone being thrown out of the window! The bastard had it on full volume as well! As for common sense: Accountant: "Fix this now!!" Me: "Fine, 3 days work at £256 a day." Accountant: "I'm not paying for it, it'll affect my pretty balance sheet..." Usual type of conversation which happens in this place...

I did the last week PANIC and ended up with a indvidual mark of 'first' for my dissertation! Some people work better under pressure! 36417 and most f*** up.................... 36431 In your experience perhaps.... In mine, the successful lot seem to be those who leave it to the last minute.

You mean the red cross is spoken for?? Shame...

You know my opinion better than I do now?? It's not 100% nonesense to me, it's very much sense. I don't think we could have afforded to play Shearer, Bellamy & Owen in the same team from either a financial POV or a footballing one... What would we have done? Played Bellamy on the wing? I can't see Shearer sitting mainly on the bench in his swangsong year particularly when there was the opportunity to re-kindle his partnership with Owen 36343 I said nothing about your opinion Craig, maybe you should read the posts again. I was just pointing out that your attempt to ridicule what someone had said didnt work because he didnt say what you thought he had. 36365 Erm.... he said exactly what I thought he had! As I have said IMO we couldn't have got Owen if we still had Bellamy, therefore my view remains that I think to say it was 100% nonesense was ridiculous.... Keep twisting it though to try and ridicule me, won't ya?

thing is though Gem, did you tell us this when he was here under Bobby Robson ? If not, why not ? 36380 No. Because I'm not a clairvoyant. 36382 I added to the last. Being a clairvoyant is quite easy sometimes .......... 36383 Robert and Bellamy both gone in somewhat controversial circumstances. Both guilty of causing bother at other clubs they've been at, and with a reputation for being trouble-makers. You're right, I should have seen it sooner. 36384 along with Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, both troublemakers under Alex Ferguson, Kevin Keegan, Brian Little, and David Dunn at Birmingham as well.. And others at Souness' other clubs ..... Never Souness is it 36386 No-one has ever said Souness was innocent.... However, Bellamy was trouble under Robson (and yes i brought it up, more than once - i just wish the old posts were still around to support that).

Shearer's still here, Bellamy is not! By definition, he's replaced Bellamy (from a footballing sense..)

If we still had Bellamy, we never would have had Owen - simple as that... 35790 You keep saying that in any Bellamy thread as if its a fact when its categorically wrong. Souness on his own admission (and rightly) bought Owen to replace Shearer, hence him pointing out that Owen was one of onle a handful of people who could ever fill Shearers boots. 36207 All a matter of interpretation. When Souness said that, I interpreted it in the sense of replacing Shearer as an iconic status rather than a direct replacement. Really?? 100% nonesense?? So you say that without a shadow of a doubt, if Craig Bellamy was still here, we'd have still have signed Michael Owen? That's gotta be one of the most ridiculous statements I've seen in a long, long while....

Just hope he is better at running a football team than he is an F1 team tbh. 36285 The bloke has done an absolutely fucking superb job of running Minardi. The very fact that they haven't gone under during his time at the helm is a miracle. It's the equivalent of managing Gateshead and their current budget whilst playing in the Premiership!! Back to 'Makeshit', any rumour in the fact his next purchase will be Austria itself which will be re-named Red Bull and the national flag changed to blue and silver quarters??
