  1. Ameobi should never (dis)grace the field in our colours again- end of
  2. Okay. Now that we've established you manage barca, can you please fuck off. no problem. but you know i'm right. your midfield just knows how to foul players and play long balls. will win plenty of games with that strategy i'm sure. all you need are world class strikers right? good bye, and best of luck trying to avoid relegation Listen, cockend, I, like many others on here, have been lamenting our shite midfield longer than you have been here, so please, do one. Exactly - what the fuck are we supposed to do about it - we didn't buy the fuckin players - i may be in the process of having one too many but can u stick the condescending "we're better than you cos were barca and you obviously know fuck all" up your arse and fuck off - why do these cunts think were interested in their fuckin points of view - funny you don't get them hangin round when there team has a bad result and were doin ok
  3. I'm glad he had the guts to drop Collocini but otherwise it's the usual consevative crap in terms of team selections we've put up with for years now. Managers too afraid to drop the likes of Duff or Ameobi in favour of trying younger players. At least Ranger is one the bench but I think we'd all prefer Carroll up front in favor of Shola, in fact I'd prefer Shearer as he is now instead of Shola. I would have put vukcic on the bench and slung him on when it goes tits up - he looked really good the other night against man city reserves and he has the added advantage over and above our midfield in that he can pick a pass (forward)
  4. Fucking liam lawrence - guaranteed to score a belter - hex sign on us that twat
  5. To give us pace and creativity on the wing.......ohh right i see what you mean
  6. You what? Aye after he was hauled off there was a marked improvement
  7. We have a couple of lads who could come good in the championship out of the reserves for me edgar is a decent player but he is away soon and i can't see the likes of bassong, beye, colo, s taylor or enrique hanging around if we go down - means an entirely new back four
  8. Which number was Vukcic. didnt see his details on the team sheet. First time Ive been to see the reserves play at sjp at i thoroughly enjoyed it. Parked in the Strawberry at 6.55pm, straight into the ground with no messing. What a difference been one row off the pitch to been in level 7. Could here every grunt and groan from Smithy and an alltogether much better football experience. Shame it was the last home game of the season. The match itself was very good and exciting stuff with a superb goal and a win thrown in. Why is Krul not playing in the first team. His distribution was great and looked very commanding coming out into the box to catch balls. Also impressed with Darren Lough, smiths hard tackling and simple passing, not conceding possesion in the middle. (would not be surprised if he gets the nod off Shearer). Carroll I thought was immense, some nice touches from Xisco first half. Two other lads who looked decent in the middle were Wesley Ngo Baheng and Frank Danquah. Overall highly reccomend a night at the reserves for anyone who has never been. Free for season ticket holders OR £3, OAPS £1.50 He was number 14 - came on for guthrie - wasn't on the team sheet - reckon shearer wanted a look at him
  9. Agreed - given could have waited till the end of the season - dropped us in it and his bleating on when he left was pathetic - we stood by him when he was injured and paid him a fantastic wage throughout his contract - we owed him nowt
  10. Carroll was good, Edgar and Lough were decent at the back but Vukcic was excellent as an attacking midfielder - played some lovely passes and has a great first touch
  11. Different coming from a deeper position though. Plus, he's been class defensively and there are no viable alternatives at LB. One of the reasons we don't win games is we don't create chances/crosses, Jonas and LoveK won't change that. Neither can cross a ball while running. Agreed - and the midfield is overrun because there is no ball retention or pressure on the oppositions back four - 2 holding midfielders (ours in particular) will still get mobbed or completely bipassed by stokes long ball
  12. Sunday morning stuff that man. He'd almost certainly struggle if he played with his back to goal. Agree but a sad reflection of our striking options because as gash as he maybe at hold up play i still reckon he would be better than ameobi or as good as carroll - obviously he won't be played there but against stoke somebody is going to have to step up to the plate physically in our forward line and take some pain for the team - i just don't know who is willing or able I know, tt’s clutching at straws due to our plight. Wouldn’t work imo and would be worse than other options. I’d stick with Owen and Martins anyway though, even away to Stoke. Carroll or Xisco being an option on the bench. I have a feeling an owen/martins combination would get booted out of the game - counter attacking football is great when you have the pace of martins but no-one from midfield can break with him and i would think this would resort to hoofball tactics or the woefully inadequate wing play we have shown so far this season - i would prefer three up front with martins and owen working from the hold up play of carroll/viduka or ameobi
  13. Sunday morning stuff that man. He'd almost certainly struggle if he played with his back to goal. Agree but a sad reflection of our striking options because as gash as he maybe at hold up play i still reckon he would be better than ameobi or as good as carroll - obviously he won't be played there but against stoke somebody is going to have to step up to the plate physically in our forward line and take some pain for the team - i just don't know who is willing or able
  14. I'd prefer taylor upfront rather than rw - he is better in the air and a better finisher than any of our tall strikers
  15. Edgar would have been as good a pick as collocini today - he is awful and unless we start getting our wide players to perform passes or crosses we will never score - taylor was woeful from set pieces - reckon taylor back cb is as good a shout as any alongside bassong and sack sideshow bob
  16. *Newcastle have the best goal difference of all the clubs in the bottom 6. Wouldn't have expected anything else from the cockney muppet - seems strange that he praised zolas recruitment as manager of his beloved hammers when zola has little more managerial experience than shearer - and as for clubs with no foundation how much are west ham in the shit financially?
  17. That's good. I had visions of the former terrorising our defence (especially if it's a makeshift one). Coloccini will be delighted Aye that little tussle could have got embarrasing
  18. It doesn't sit well that strummer was a chelsea fan like - but hey nobody is perfect
  19. Been thinking about this new investor theory (that i raised about 20 posts ago ) and it kind of explains the unwillingness of ashley to overspend and pay up front for any acquisitions - he has bought out of necessity really and has kept things ticking over rather than pushing forward (done it on the cheap is probably what i mean)
  20. Now there's a thought. We can dream. In amongst the madness its the only sane explaination i can come up with as to why he would take the job now - hope its true and hope he can keep us up
  21. Totally agree - if we are going down we might as well go kicking and screaming rather than the luke warm tepid approach of most of the season - hoping that Ashley has been told by prospective buyers to install shearer as manager as a precursor to a summer takeover (i can only dream) as an attempt to stave off relegation
  22. Aye good article - none of the usual shite about us hindering his career - listened to talksport last night - fuck me that durham what a wanker - he reckons owen doesn't get picked cos he plays for a crap club - fair play to darren gough who was on with him for bigging us up but i had to reach for the off button
  23. I am not a huge fan of his but he has been great the last couple of games - really rolled his sleeves up and looks prepared to die for the team- pity about sideshow bob in the centre of defense though - now there is a dilemma with Beye fit
  24. The recent news on inflation doesn't really back that up. I thought the spiralling deflation we were going to hit may cause that as well as the quantative easing and zero gold reserves to prop up the currency Only going off my sketchy knowledge of these things and GCSE history but there was hyper-inflation in the Weimar Republic which meant your money's worth less by the day and any period of deflation will mean your money's worth more, no? Aye the products you buy are cheaper but the value of the currency also goes down (apparently) this leads to nobody buying anything and eventually the whole thing collapses i suppose he reckoned this may cause the hyper inflation - like i say he was a professor of something and seemed to know his way round it - once you wade through the government spin there are some pretty clever blokes sketching out some very scary scenarios Fair enough. I don't understand how the value of the currency goes down though. In the UK, that is. Fair to say I'm no expert like Me either mate - thats why i live in fenham and not jesmond
