  1. Aye its a weak league but i suppose the old adage that you can only beat whats in front of you could be used - Its the circle of success that i find interesting - get in that loop and you are laughing - they've done well if you consider the bigger leagues cherry pick their best talent and they just kepp finding more good players. Unfortunately we have dropped out of this loop and will pay the consequences for years to come - ah well vive le Houllier and get yersel to the toon gerry
  2. Its easy on the eye and effective - all twats tho Boro are a three man team - woody, boateng and viduka
  3. Aye complete turnip - this isn't the walkover that the experts predicted
  4. How come Reading can go to bolton and win 3-1 - allegedly being a fairly lightweight footballing team who can be out muscled by the more agricultural teams in the division. So therefore when we play bolton we always hear the same thing about winning the battles and fighting hard and we ALWAYS get turned over. Its bollocks thats why-Reading are organised, play at a good tempo and can pass a ball which to me would be an essential quality that any premier league team should have. All this crap about battlers not bottlers and rolling your sleeves up that GR comes out with reminds me of Terry Butcher in the death throes of his management at Blunderland - bloody clueless You need ability, tactics and commitment Glenn thats all
  5. Baptista is a fukn donkey - but he is right about the hoofing of the ball tactic - wudn't attribute that totally to northern clubs tho
  6. Smell a touch of player power here like
  7. Keegan and Robson may have made mistakes but I look at the current tactics and man-management and inept is not something you could level at either of them unlike GR. Every manager makes mistakes in the transfer market but that is not levelled at Roeder that much (I know duff has been a major disappointment tho) its more the amateurish air that hangs over the club so to make that point is rubbish. Its a Roeder/shepherd wankfest and totally paints over problems within the club - Shepherd is a buffoon of the highest order and Glenn is a nice bloke who just can't hack it - he's drowning and either he gets a grip and cuts out the cronyism within the team or we'll be sucked down with him
  8. My apologies on the fabregas comment But I do think the draw of playing for a team that nurtures its young foreign talents (french and spanish etc) is greater than not. He is a fantastic talent and a loss which we are likely to regret-but the situation has been mis-managed and allowed to escalate and i am surprised Milner hasn't gone the same way - testimony to the lads spirit tbf
  9. Aye it seems indicative of the attitude displayed by alot of our players - I think the heavy french prescence at the arse would have created the path for it - Fabregas has a word in his shell like at the under 21 meets and bobs your uncle
  10. Is it just me or does anyone else think that N'Zogbia has been tapped up by another club? I think Arsenal have had words tellin him to play shite for a season to lower his price then fake a fall out with the incumbant clueless management to manufacture an untenable position so he has to be allowed to leave Any money he signs for them and is an absolute world beater - we know the lads got immense talent and there were rumours at the start of the season about the arse bein interested in him - it just seems a bit strange - mind you as soon as we signed duff he must have been pretty pissed off to be fair and it wouldn't take that much for his head to be turned
  11. I say play him - lets face it were gonna have to think about selling him fairly soon cos he isn't gonna re-sign and it would be a disaster to let him walk away for nowt - might aswell get as much out of him as possible now and if he gets injured let the insurance pick up the tab
  12. If we had been slaughtered 3-0 i think you can level the 'never wear a shirt again/diatribe at certain players but i think u shud bear in mind last game out arsenal fukn murdered west ham for 89 and should have won 6-1(not a testimony of qualitybut i think generally thet ain't a mid table team without henry cos they haven't had him for most of the season and they ain't mid-tale). I'm not sayin it was the greatest game but if you SAW the match u could surely see that Emre and Butt had good games - Emre created plenty and hassled the oppo when not in possession. Gooch may not be a world beater but he is new to the league and i rekn he is robust, good in the air just not sure if he is a bit error prone. We controlled substantial parts of the game but the fact the ball was not bein held up in forward areas meant breakdown of the forward momentum nearly every time and martins gettin more and more pissed off - sibierski would have made a difference. Dyer was not great and i think something is going on therei.e. he wants to leave-but why bring zog on to make a five man midfield when we were already on top in in the centre seems crazy and they had the upper hand after that
  13. Wasn't fantastic to watch but I thought we showed some good midfield work - fairly solid at the bak apart from when carr has a fukn nap - but oba needs someone to play off - thought he was lively but was gettin pissed off cos he never got any help - Butt was really good and i thought Emre, duff and milner were pretty decent an all
  14. Aye you have to laugh - there isn't an interview with him that doesn't mention them although he would NEVER use it as an excuse.. He sounds like he's pleading a bit now - almost like he knows something is going on behind the scenes....we can live in hope. Saying that like if he could find a spine to use he might be able to field a decent team today and get us a result......but maybe thats hope too far fetched.....we shall see
  15. You know winning something would be an earth shattering event - toon have won nothing since i was 2 and i am genuinely worried that they may not acheive anything whilst i roam this earth but at the moment i would content myself with a team which was exciting at sjp and dangerous away from home and in all fairness i don't think its a pipe dream (AZ first half at home) this acheivement could surely lend us favourably(as it has in the past) to the cups and the rest would just be glorious
  16. soon as i get a pervert mac and a facial transplant with a goats arse i might apply mate
  17. All this talk smacks of hope and desperation - we are assuming that fs has made an autonomous decision in advance of it being a dire necessity(i.e. that we have no manager) to recruit a highly reputable coach with an outstanding record at an unglamorous club to haul us up by our bootstraps from the spiralling nosedive of a shite situation that we find ourselves in and inspire us with clenched fist and thumped chest to glories yet even to be dreamt of...... I think not. Gr gets 10mill over the summer then the boot by th autumn by which time nobody wants to leave their club-its the circle of life
  18. Unfortunately the truth is finally dawning - last season the players were just pleased to get rid of souness - this season they've realised they can dominate roeder and he's not big enough to rectify it-current form is the worry and i agree 3 points on saturday and were safe - i just wish he'd stop trying to be arsene bloody wenger and talking bollocks
  19. Hardly goin 2 be a goal fest like - they lost hulse and we can't score whoever plays
  20. First time comment here so don't slaughter me - rekn houllier is a great choice and just for the record toon slipped from 20-1 relegation odds to 5-1 on the bak of yesterdays result on betfair - somebodys layin cash on us 2 go down
