  1. According to joe jordan he is near london talking to a player - i would piss myself if this came to nowt and all the press have been barking up the wrong tree
  2. Its all media fuelled speculation - nobody knows except the people who should - which is fine and the way it should be - the only concern for me (other than he is not my 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice for the job) is that he turns us down cos we are north of watford - how is that goin to make us look in the eyes of an already hysterical southern press mob? Tell you what like considerin the amount of negative stuff goin about that we are a mediocre club in a shithole of the country with crap delusioned fans and no history we don't half get some press coverage
  3. I am with you on that - i was convinced yesterday that it was a done deal with a really big name and almost got the cigars out to celebrate only to find myself utterly underwhelmed this morning - Redknapp may well happen but it just didn't fit into the series of events which had transpired. I am still holding out some hope for a sudden turn of events but with his press conference being cancelled it seems less and less likely (maybe he couldn't be arsed to field all the newcastle questions) here's hoping
  4. I am not sure what his current regard within the city counts for but either way he has made more money than all of us put together times lots and lots therefore he ranks in my eyes as a bloke who is not daft because if he is i must be somewhere below amoeba. I will relax and chuckle at all the southern gutter press slagging us off and presenting a myriad of candidates for us to rant over safe in the knowledge that the deal is done and big mike has got the right man.
  5. I honestly don't know what we are worrying about - Ashleys best mate is paul kelmsley and when tottingham decided to make a change they simply went out and got the bloke with the best cv that could produce thr type of football they were after - done and dusted - and i am sure he will look at that and think he can do the same. Can't see it being jol or hughes (jol because of the tottenham link and hughes because he has won nowt) Mclaren is an arse and shearer is a stupid risk (certainly when a £250m investment is at stake. As far as redknapp is concerned he may well be able to organise the team and win the players over and produce some good football and results - its not rocket science and our players are not as shite as the recent woeful displays would indicate. My personal view is that a hard nosed aggressive business type like ashley wants a top guy - will stop at nothing to get him and as a result will back him and we will move forward and all this hullabaloo will be forgotten.
  6. Like I said its all instigated by the southern press - wait and see - Ashleys no muppet he wouldn't do this if he hasn't done the deal with someone
  7. The southerners are shitting themselves in case we get Jose
  8. Smokescreen - putting everybody in the dark so they can shock the world with Jose
  9. Whilst it would be somewhat of a miracle if Jose did land up at SJP as has been said he does have some connections to the job and i am sure Sir Bobby would have waxed lyrical about the place also worth bearing in mind that he would be well aware that if he acheived even half of what he did at any of his previous clubs there would be streets named after him never mind statues put up on every corner and a man of his ego could well be drawn to the prospect of leaving a legacy of legendary status. As well as all that what other club could he go to that would piss off the entire country as much if it actually acheived its potential as Newcastle - its a long shot but i would never say never
  10. Apparently we're getting electricity soon, too! Aye - well i'm off to take the whippet for a walk to the pigeon loft in me flat cap and hobnails
  11. I am sure he would have been able to write similar about man u in the late eighties - busby babes and all that - its a piece of piss to deride and mock anyone or anything but that doesn't make it journalism - if they have a few square inches of space in their rag its just a matter of trotting out a few old newcastle cliches and adding some sly insults about how deluded we are and there you have it - bollocks. Tottenham may have got a bit of stick about jol but i don't recall it reaching levels that we attain and we haven't even sacked our manager - and nowts said about the fact that ramos has made fuck all difference. So we got annoyed about some inept performances on the pitch - fuckin wow - it happens every week everywhere even chelsea were slaggin off grant.
  12. Aye - zero creativity - in saying that mind the only player worth playing thru the middle would be n'zogbia cos emre is piss poor
  13. sorry like but this is unacceptable - it is only the players natural ability that is creating anything at all cause the team set-up is geared to nullifying any fluent football - never seen so many international players look like they have never played above sunday league level-gettin scary for relegation if something drastic doesn't happen
  14. Well if the quote about that Ashley made about winning the prem or CL within five years is true then he needs to flash some cash and get Mourihno talked into it - as you say money talks and i think he would like nothing better than to shove it up abramovich - cos at this rate we will be trying for for the the blue square premiership within five years - i was willing to give him time but he is making Roeder and Souness look good at the moment - its fucking inept and bloody awful on the eye and i can't see the type of players he wants or more to the point can attract making any difference
  15. Yes Bolton aswell - But few of the aforementioned are as fucking awful to watch as us - even that would be a consolation - a time in the game where we may create a scoring opportunity would be nice - I dunno maybe its the players to blame - surely a professional footballer on 40k a week should be able to pass a ball fairly accurately - ah well at least Glenns doing well with the canaries - nice man - boring but nice
  16. My big worry is that on current form (and we have been playing the also rans in the main) is that we may be THE team that gets dragged into a relegation situation from mid table - there is always one - accompanied by the cries that they are too big to go down. Maybe its pessimistic and thats fair enough but it is a real danger as everybody else improves(tottenham, birmingham, wigan etc) we are fading badly
  17. Its All bollocks - regardless of the players he wanted or not the point is - how many internationals did derby have 2 or 3? - if that - every one of our players has international experience at some sort of level - no excuses the system is crap - the players are falling well below their potential and i can't believe the patience shown by the fans today - we should have mullered them - they were below strength and there for the hammering and we couldn't even get the basics right to beat them. 10 minutes away from humiliation - really poor - got no confidence for the wigan game - christ the way we defend sibbers will have a field day.
  18. I certainly wouldn't say he is crap but even playing in a system which suits him i think his lack of nouse will be exasperating cos he will always drift offside - in saying that he can be dangerous in the air and can produce goals which as you quite rightly say owen can't - his distance shooting is pathetic - i reckon his kicking muscle has been considerably weakened by the injuries - as poor as his pace
  19. I feel the problem lies in the fact that Martins has freakish pace which we do not play to ,however, even when we do manage on the rare occasion to play a ball through the oppositions defence for him to run onto his fundamental lack of awareness and inability to spring even an average offside trap renders the whole attempt at that type of attack pointless. As for Owen his positional sense is tremendous but i'm not suprised he stands with his hands on his hips considering the lack of service - he might as well have a lie down for most of the match.
  20. So true - give me the 89 minutes of a disinterested Ginola or Robert for that 1 minute of joyous brilliance over 90 minutes of the hoof and run stuff any day Nzogbia has the potential to be better in my opinion. Wouldn't disagree with you but i don't think he has the dead ball ability of robert - probably better at running at defenders though and could be a better central midfielder than either ginola or robert
  21. So true - give me the 89 minutes of a disinterested Ginola or Robert for that 1 minute of joyous brilliance over 90 minutes of the hoof and run stuff any day
  22. Truly one of if not the greatest waste of talent i have seen - talent to burn - pace - everything really but went completely radio rental and threw it away - pity you couldn't splice his talent with milners workrate and attitude - what a player you would have (fuck me it would be ryan giggs)
  23. Hardly bodes well for Allardyce if they won't let him sign anybody - probably just paper talk and bollocks like but if there is any truth in it then they are either pissed off at the amount of wedge they are being asked to spend or simply don't trust Allardyce to spend any - personally i don't reckon they are that convinced by him but it will be interesting how far they back him come january
