1. Yeah, just selling kids to paedos is fine, nowt wrong with that!
2. Gemmil only started watching Brasseye because he heard one episode was all about "cake"
3. If you don't hate them then its fair enough if you want them to do well, personally i would never wish well on any of manu, arse, chelski etc. Though any english teams that don't bother me i am ambivalent to and don't mind either way what happens to them in europe. I had no problem with Liverpool winning it other than it blatntly sets them further out of our reach. It is hypocrisy to go from hating somebody to wanting them to win just because their opponents happen to be foreign. And ther's no national pride in a arsenal who are managed by a frenchman and have almost exclusively foreign players. You can dmire their great football, but they are only english in name (not that i give a shit as i don't want them to win anyway!) And i said i don't want them to win trophies, we just need them to keep doing enough to give england their 4 CL places etc. The prem makes a fortune whatever they do in europe, and players from South America will always choose spain etc. over us for the climate and language.
4. It is certainly a strange list of jpegs to be having on your hard drive and definately needs investigating, but nothing dead certain to say they're a raving paedo yet as far as i can see, until you look at the actual pics.
5. I've never understood those that go from hating the likes of manu et al to suddenly being up their arse because they're playing against "Johnny Foreigner". I'm not a hypocrite and on a weekly basis i hate manu, arse, chelski etc. their managers, players and fans and i won't suddenly drop all that because they're up against itallians, spaniards etc. Also every euro trophy these teams wins helps take them further away from us and ends any hope of competing with them. All we need is for them to do relatively well here and there to keep england having 4 places in the CL. However anyone who doesn't dislike manu, chelski can at least claim some consistency in wanting them to do well in europe. But for me i'll take some Spaniards who are distant and don't bother me over a bunch of arrogant cockney fans, a whinging, hypocrite manager and various players i don't like.
6. Its actually a law now that something like that be shown on camera to make geordies look like braindead charvas as often as possible! To be fair its blatantly obvious that sky (or whoever) film a load of interviews with fans and then instantly bin any that feature eloquent, intelligent fans who sound normal and leave in the footage of fuckwitt charvas and those freaks that only ever seem to surface when an NUFC story breaks. That said if Roeder does get the job, "Ah swear to god wa pure gonna win tha league and everything like, and then Sheara's gonna come back and wull win the champions league an' all!"
7. Our problem is aside from our own tough couple of games we are relying on the smogs and Charlton helping us out!!! Well Charlton may as well pack up and take a holiday for all they do from January onwards and the smogs are going to be knackered and lets hope devastated from their two failed cup runs, so i don't expect too much from either. We really have to hope the pressure gets to Bolton and/or Blackburn and they cock it up completely themselves. Oh and a short term injury to Bellamy would be nice, because he is easilly the biggest factor in what Blackburn will do.
8. On what i've seen so far of him playing for us you'd have to say he's done a simple and effective job at the back for us. As people knew already he's agressive and physical, but he's been pretty acomplished in other aspects as well and has been part of some improved displays from our back 4. Titus as been excellent since his return from injury as well, though his detractors will continually deny it. But we still need a top class, experienced centreback to be signed, preferably one who organises from the back and can help the likes of Titus and Taylor as well.
9. If Roeder doesn't get the job then i certainly think he has earned a place in the senior set up at St. james with his turnaround of the complete devastation left behind by the previous fuckwitt.

Yeah, I saw it on MOTD2. Then he ran back to his bench, went for a high-five with someone and missed completely. 126857 That was excellent, but fair play to the bloke he's done an excellent job so far. As for Boro their fans inability to fill allocations and grouns for big matches is embarassing and seeing them dumped out of both cups ina week will be reward enough for them!
11. Roeder is definately a pretty sharp guy who in his time here has made several comments that could be nothing other than showign what a complete cock the previous manager was for missing something that Roeder sees as blatantly obvious. But he does it without actually calling Souness a talentless fuckwitt and lets other people arrive at that conclusion themselves!
12. I think 2 of the best examples of how pens are ultimately about pressure are Le Tissier and Shearer: Le Tissier had an incredible pen record of something like 51 from 52 because in his own words he said nobody should be missing something that easy and he looked at it as a free goal, he felt no pressure because of that was for me the best pen taker ever. Shearer orginally had supreme confidence and wasn't worried by pressure so he backed himself so much that he blasted pens at 100mph into the roof of the net where no keeper had a chance because h knew he'd hit the target. The for some reason he changed a bit and lost some confidence and he started tryign to place some of them with less power and his record suffered. though fortunately towards the end he seemed to get it back a bit and started lacing them again, as the mackems will always remember! But Le Tissier showed if you can handle the pressure you'll score pens for fun.
13. I hope he was, but think that the man is above such things! When you think of the way that prick Souness is spouting his utter bullshit on tv about how we're only doing well because all the players are back is a disgrace to everything Roeder has done. You'd think just one person on tv with the twat could have the balls to say "give it a fucking rest Graham, Roeder has had as many if not more injuries than you, had no Owen, injuries to Shearer, at times only 4 fit defenders one of whom was Boomsong! Yet he's got on with it and never once blamed luck, injuries or refs, you talentless fuckwitt."
14. There's a world of difference between hitting the target and hitting a good penalty. As AF said, the whole 'technique doesn't matter' idea is complete bollocks. 126598 Do you seriously think Englands 5 main penalty takers are lacking the skill and technique to kick a ball well from 12 yards having allready taken pens before in their life. I said any player who thinks practice will help can do all of it that they want but if they can't handle the situation they'll take a shite pen. 126602 Penalty taking is not an 'easy skill'. Getting the ball on target is, but consistently getting it in the areas that are difficult for the keepers (ie the corners) is difficult. The players who miss are usually defenders/midfielders who do not have much shooting practice, hitting it at a comfortable height for the keeper to save. And it's not just them - Beckham, the player who can put the ball on a sixpence from 60 yards with a cross, and curl free kicks in from 30 yards, takes shit penalties. If players practiced more they'd get it in the corner more. Plus with practice they would become more confident in taking a penalty and thus would be less vulnerable to nerves, pressure from the crowd etc. 126610 I do know what you're saying and i agree that for any individual himself who feels better after some practice thats fine, but until any given player takes part in a pen shootout in a big game you can't know how they'll handle it. If i was a "lesser" pen taker, like you say a defender or soemthing and only ever goign to be called on in a shootout after the main 5 (which isn't very common) then i'd work on 1or 2 pens i was happy with, probably one in the corner and a blaster and come the situation i'd just go for it. But if these players are bad at shooting (just a strikers can be shite at tackling) then theres every chance that even with practice they'll still be crap and panic when the pressure comes! And i think your Beckham example is because of what i'm saying. The bloke is clearly technically gifted and as you say can hit a football incredibly accurately yet he arses up pens. And the reason is the pressure, you have to score it, its expected because theres no real excuse for missing, whereas when he takes a freekick the pressure isn't the same as percentage wise he's not expected to score as often.
15. Or they could have a weeks wages deducted for each miss, that would have them hitting the target!

17. As i said if an individual thinks he needs practice at kicking a ball from 12 yards then he can do all the practice he wants and if that helps his confidence then great. But if his arse goes on the night and he bottles it, or panics and changes his mind or just lets the pressure get too much then no practice in the world will do any good. Your example of darts players practicing is them practicing all the skills they use in their sport and footballers do the same, they train to maintain their skills, i wouldn't expect anything less. But penalty takers know what works for them and it ultimately comes down to whether they can handle the big situation. With something more technically demaning like say Johnny Wilkinson havign to kick an egg shaped ball 40-50 yards at times in the wind and rain its understandable that he puts in hours of practice to go with his massve natural talent, but you can bet he doesn't spend much of that time practicing a straight on kick from about 12 yards. Just the same as i'd expect Beckham and the like to put in soem time on freekicks and set pieces because there is definite room to work on, but a pen is so easy technically that the only thing to work on is pressure, and you can't do that in training.
18. In things like world cups, taking pens is down to your mind, confidence and attitude on the night in that moment. Any of the 5 players who step up can kick a ball on target from 12 yards with ease, but you can practice it all you like and you will never create the pressure they have to handle when a nations hopes come down to them and them alone. If some of the possible later candidates after the top 5 (or any within the top 5) genuinely feel they need to practice kicking a ball from 12 yards and that it'll help by all means do it, but it won't matter for much when it comes to a semi final and you have to take the pressure kick.

Ameobi

Its true that Shola because of his demeanour and percieved attitude prob gets more stick than others. But he is frustrating because i don't think he is making the most of what he has got ability wise whereas Crouch probably is. Really next season is his absolute last chance as he's finished this one strongly and actually scoring goals, there will be no Shearer and either a new manager or Roeder who has done well with him and he'll be about 25 or soemthing!

It was always likely, or at least i always thought they'd bomb out of both cups at the same time and suddenyl realise they'd done shite in the league and had nothign to take from the whole season (sounds familiar!) I would expect Steaua to score in the return leg as they look capable and as long as they don't do a Basel and collapse it'll be curtians for the smogs.

The lack of power and convicition is probably the main thing stopping him scoring consistently, he scuffs and underhits too many shots and other times doesn't shoot quick enough or at all when a chance arises.

Superb penalty. If Henry had scored one like that we'd have seen it 402 times on the news by now. Ameobi gets no credit when he does something right. Typical of the fans of this club I'm afraid. And no, I'm not suggesting he's good enough to be first choice next season, but at least recognise the things he does sometimes do well. 126451 It was an excellent penalty placed right in the bottom corner where the keeper couldn't reach and more importantly he wanted the pen, he chose to take it which i'd want in a striker. He always annoys me because i don't think he is shit, i think he has ability but wastes it with his concentration, consistency, application and lack of agrression and killer instinct. He's never likely to be prolific but he should be aiming to be a second striker alonside a better goal scorer. But if we want to challenge at the top he should be our 3rd/4th choice striker really, unless his current goal scoring form becomes the norm week in week out and he cuts out missing sitters.
23. Yeah i've seen it and its nothing amazing, though Henry is an amazing player. I've seen that goal countless times playing football with mates when you're bearing down on the keeper and just flick it short range with the outside of your foot instead of stepping round to curl it with your instep, its nothing to get over excited about.
24. Thought the young lad played really well. Worked hard as people have said but showed some intelligence about his game, picking the right pass and being aware of what was going on around him. Souness has left us with a very small squad for the premiership and we have to hope a few young lads can come through and at least be squad players to bolster our numbers.
25. I think Spurs were totally right and as usual Wenger has come out of an incident looking and acting like a whinging little kid. No Spurs player fouled anyone, just two Arse players collided and were in no danger whatsoever (one was getting up and the other soon followed) and Spurs have no obligation whatsoever to kick it out. And for Wenger to dare have a go at another manager calling him a liar for not seeing something, when Wenger has made a career out of never seeing anything his players do is just embrassing.
