1. More or less sums it up. His stats were excellent and as said earlier without him we wouldn't have got to where we did, same as with Bellamy, the two of them helped transform our team. His goals and assists speak for themselevs, they win matches and thats what football is about, so people who choose to ignore this and slag him off ad infinitum are basically like Anal Oliver with his all foreigners are bad all gerodies are good bollocks. Theres reasons to criticise as he wasn't perfect clearly, but on balance he was a vital part of our CL qualification and the good seasons under Bobby. In his last season here we would have got alot more out of him if we'd had somebody other than fuckwitt Souness in charge who would waste wingers far beter than Robert and who basically treat him like crap. But sicne he's left he's hardly set the world alight so we haven't missed him greatly, but he'd still have been a better option than Shola wide left and anybody who says otherwise would worry me!
2. It didn't need to go to court at all. Even ignoring the fact the muslim council had already aproved the uniform with regards to their religion the simple fact is a school can decide on its choice of uniform and you either abide by their rules and remain at the school or you ignore their rules and leave the school. You don't need all the time, effort and expense to taxpayers of a court case because one girl doesn't like her school uniform. You give her a simple choice follow the rules and go to the school, or leave the school and stop moaning about it. My school uniform included a tie, at no point would i expect to be able to take the school to court because i didn't like wearing one, i accepted their rules. And just because her argument was about religion doesn't make it any more valid whatsoever than mine whether she likes it or not. Religion can't (or shouldn't) be grounds to pick what you do and don't like about rules and regulations made by the state and fortunately the court agreed with this on this occasion. 135018 If you want to live in a free soceity you're going to have to accept that people can challenge the interpretation of the law. The legal system clarified the last sentence of your post, and now a precedent has been set it can't happen again. It was a price worth paying imo. Or we could just have totalitarianism instead to save a few quid. 135028 A fair point you've made there, though do you really think that will be the last and you won't see a very similar case or cases in the future allowed to go to court, i supect there will be. My main problem with it is probably the religous angle. Whatever religion it is people should never be allowed to use it to challenge the law as other people subscribe to different religions or no religion at all. And religion is nothing but unproven/unprovable faith and belief and why the hell should that allow you to dicate (or attempt to dicate) laws other people may have to follow when they share none of your unproven beliefs.

4. A vehicle for the return of the might of Noel Edmonds???
5. If he doesn't then he bloody well should, the young upstart!!!
6. It is an interesting question, when do you have enough players out for a cancellation. I think your best bet is if all your keepers were taken out and you had nobody adequate to play in goal, thn you may have a chance.
7. A book that Alan Partridge rates very highly, and there can be no reccomendation better than that!!!
8. Yeah, anyone in the NE who puts on a toon shirt and proclaims loudly in front of a large crowd that they love NUFC and Shearer, can have the day off. See if any mackems can do that to get a free day off work!
9. Where to? Africa? Racist tbh! 134796 It reminded me of that song sung by Tim Healy in Phoenix nights, but no-one got my reference. 134802 I got it, the racist folk band 134809 I thought it was obvious. 134810 Same here and theres always a place for Phonix Nights references! As for Boom, i'm glad at anytime the fans get behind a player, especially ones with little or no confidence because it does help, for that game at least and its always better to have a good atmosphere rather than one filled with booing, moaning and whinging at players. He's also right as SLP said that the criticism was way over the top and thats because he's a toon defender and the law is they have to be reidiculed as worse than any defenders in any other team even when its not tue. However he isn't good enough and certainly not suited to the premiership and we have to hope he has a good world cup and we can get a reasonable fee for him.
10. But only for the group stages surely
11. Those "smilies!" One of them thought you were being serious when you said "Boro deserve the top dogs tag". 134792 all those rivals boards are useless compared to this place ( and even N.O.). I often look in the swansea city one ( Jackarmy.net) but it really is hard to get a bit of craic going like in here! 134793 It wasn't rivals, it was this little gem, containing such threads as: http://s6.invisionfree.com/New_Holgate_MB/...showtopic=16598 Someone on Skunkers suggested sending him postcards next season when we're in Europe. 134808 oh right, i was posting on the rivals boro board which was linked to in this thread! soon got bored mind 134812 Who posted as dr_marietta_higgs? 134815 Don't think they all got it either! They are going to regret ever starting the "Watching the Bill" chant! Maybe it'll teach the inbreds the lesson to concentrate on their own team and enjoy what success they were having instead of wasting time obsessing about NUFC and its fans and needeing to devote their time to singing about us.
12. Aye, cynical marketing that. 134713 And "The Return of the King" was blatantly attempting to con Elvis fans into believing he was returning and would star in the 3rd film, shocking behaviour from Jackson.
13. Just seen this post in a thread: Bunch of raging bummers tbh
14. Maybe if they hadn't spent the last month on a loop of "Geordies at home, watching the Bill", they wouldn't be getting this shit. 134655 Correct! Nobody here had a particular problem with their players and most would praise their two comebacks. But the fans throughout (and as ever) have been comeplete pricks who have been asking for the piss to be ripped out of them and they are going to get it, so tough shit!
15. Sorry but this is just so funny!
16. Not waiting to collect the North East Top Dogs Trophy? 134572 Forgot about that, but then i usually do being a toon fan and not giving a shit about the other two clubs! It'll have been retired again this season since NUFC are once again top and it'll probably not return for a good long while!
17. Such a shame that the wonderful Smoggie fans have went all that way to be fucked over like this, it brings a tear to your eyes!

BBC 1

Tbh anything south of my garden is all southern cock jockeys!
19. Have to say, they were only 1-0 down with 20 mins left, thats not for me when you go to 4 strikers as you are asking to be hit on the break and they have been. And i bet most of the smogs wish they were "At home watching the Bill" right now!
20. Don't worry you can point out that their fans are an absolute joke without jinxing the result!
21. Smogs out of their depth yet again, though that hasn't stopped them winning in the last two rounds! Also their fans are as ever piss poor, since the goal they have been completely silent apart from about 100 of them doing a feeble "Come on Boro" But what do you expect from them. Before the match on tv at the biggest macth in the history of their club what did some of their fan chant and have on their minds...thats right it was NUFC and our fans as they sang about us being at home watching the Bill etc. etc. Good to know that even in a euro final they know deep down that NUFC are more important!
22. If he thinks Owen is so incapable he can't manage probably half a testimonial then he musn't be fit enough to be in the squad. Surely the thing Owen needs is to start getting some playing time under his belt and in a testimonial he's less liekly to get clattered. When they play friendlies he's going to have to "risk" Owen or is he going to keep him out of those too so he arrives at the world cup totally lacking in match fitness???
23. FA in "getting something right for once" shocker!!! Shame they didn't also release a statement saying: "We have recinded the card and we also think Riley is a fucking useless little weasel and will be having him terminated ASAP"
24. The wall not moving back isn't exclusive to Chelsea tbh. At least half of the teams in the league do it ffs. Christ we're turning into scousers the amount of pity we have. 133656 Its funny but i don't recall saying the wall thing was exclusive to Chelsea, in fact i didn't criticise them at all for it because they are quite rightly trying to play on the edge of the rules. Its Riley i'm having a go at for being shite at his job and being a ref who probably above all others is up the arse of the top 4 teams as shown by letting them get away with what they liked, and making decsions after they'd surrounded him (for which he never once booked a single player)
25. Well done to Roeder, he took over one of the biggest messes around after Souness finally got kicked out and he turned it right round. Whether Roeder can take us to "the next level" we shall see but he's shown even with an injury hit squad he is more than capable of beating all the dross in the prem, beating the middling teams and the ones around and just above us (ie. Spurs, Bolton, Wigan etc. who were above us at the time) With a fully fit squad, his own signings, a pre season to work with them then we will see what he can do for a whole season. I certainly am fully confident he will do a good job, how good is what we will find out.
