1. 99262 The thing is that in the few Villa games I have seen this season Milner put in some quality crosses. He also didn't look like running in slow motion.. 99270 Confidence man, confidence. 99274 Confidence, coaching and a manager who whilst being a prick, knows how to get the best out of promising young players. But he's stupid for talking him up too much as it doesn't help Villa at all. We have to keep him and see what he can do for us next year, especially as he'll now have the benefit of a run in a team in the prem and some confidence.
2. Looks like Shearer will be out, and if theres even a tiny element of risk we have to rest Dyer to make sure he's fine for the next few games. So this is the best chance to give Luque a full game up front to see what he can do, now that he'll have the likes of Zog, Emre and Nobby playing football to create for him instead of Souness' gameplan of smacking 10 foot high balls at him and creating nothing to take advanatge of his movement and well timed runs.
3. Typical for this country sadly, its always a joke. Not only did he run her over, kill her and drive off, but he's stolen the bastard car and has no lisence/insurance AND had handled stolen goods, and was out on parole for a previous conviction for wounding!!! Might as well give up doing these stories in the press as by now i think everyone in the coutnry know we are a joke and isn't in the least bit surprised by any of the fucking ludicrous sentences we see handed out.
4. There was a slight decline in Bobby's last (full) season, but alot of that was down to Bobby losing the plot, playing people out of position, not using subs and kicking Nobby out. When Souness came in he inherited a top 6 squad whether people like that or not. It neede a little work, some motivation and a few new ideas to take it back to challenging for 4th onwards. Something fuckwitt himself acknowledged by pointing out it was the best squad he'd worked with. To finish anywhere below 6th would have been poor, to finish where he did was abysmal and for people to try and suggest we were heading that way anyway is simply wrong. Under Bobby (who was losing it) we'd have finished anywhere between say 10th at worst and 6th if he managed his previous seasons efforts of bad start and then recovery. Under a new manager but not Souness we could have done much the same. Had Fat Fred done his job properly, moved Bobby on close season, got the right man and given them time and money we could be flying, but he didn't and we aren't!

Goal!

Shaolin Soccer is far and away the best football movie, though Escape To Victory is of course a classic and i always end up watching it when its on! Goal was crap to be brutally honest and if you took out the NUFC aspect i doubt many on here would rate it at all. I was disappointed as i was one of the few from the start who thought it would be good, and i'd certainly like to have seen what the original director and script would have been like.
6. Newman and Baddiel couldn't stand each other by the end of their last national standup tour. Don't think i've heard of Lee and Herring falling out even though they seem to always work apart these days. TMWRNJ was class and whilst the later nite version had more in the sunday morning one got away with shitloads itself.
7. Excellent site Jimbo, cheers!
8. He's a quality player who has pace and skill, loves to run at defenders, offers width and fires in some lovely early crosses that strikers thrive on. He also looks as though he'll score his share of goals and get back to help the defence right till then end of matches. So needless to say Souness played Shola on the left ahead of him!!!
9. We'd only do that if it looked like he was about to relegate them!
10. Sums up how useless refs and the FA are. They've watched that and have two very simple options: 1. You don't think he even makes enough contact with Baros so its not even a foul, hence you over turn the red 2. You think its enough to eb a foul but it isn't a professional foul as he's not last man and Baros is heading away from goal, so you overturn the red Of course you do always have option 3. You are the FA so act like morons and ignore all evidence when making the decision
11. Frustrated the crowd though. Plan A! 95864 That is true, in all my years as a toon fan i don't think any manager has managed to frustrate the NUFC fans as well as Souness!
12. I'm going for 3-0 or 4-0 I fancy us to give somebody a hammering and under Roeder i have confidence in us doing well as the players have always been there, just held back by Souness, one of the single worst things to happen to NUFC.
13. If people are drinking before/after the match i'll be there!
14. The version i've heard, i think on QI with the king of all knowledge Stephen Fry, is that it was invented in glasgow: Some scottish bloke had ordred chiken tikka and asked for some gravy with it!!! So they just made something up, a massala (which is just "sauce" and can be pretty much anything) and the dish stuck.
15. Sounds utter bollocks, everything i've read about or by Emre has never once mentioned him struggling to settle in England and he's adapted to the prem from day one and been greatly missed when out injured. He'll be one of many footballers at the club who will see the benefit of not having a complete cock in charge of the club thus allowing them to make more use of their skills.
16. Aye, ditto Micky Owen convalescing in Chester. 94331 Is it just me who thinks Amdy Faye is mint? 94332 I wouldn't say he was mint, but I still think Faye can do a job for us with the right formation and tactics. I think away from home with 'proper' players out he does alright. Having watched the ANC, he deosn't do a bad job for Senegal. Under Souness we were negative so when he got the ball he was expected to add something to the attack, which isn't his game. If you had someone like Dyer in the middle and got the two wide men to attack I reckon he'd do a good job at protecting the back four. Tin hat firmly on. 94340 I think thers only two things stopping him from doing a good job for us under a better manager with better tactics! 1. He is nowhere near a good enough footballer at the top level, and even defensive players have to have good enough ability 2. He isn't actually good at timing tackles or defensive positioning often ending up chasing down his player and fouling them needlesley But he will undoubtedly look better now Souness has gone as will ever player at this club!
17. But i suspect he won't be heading straight back into the team under Roeder!
18. That picture makes me physically sick. It's an afront. The one on the right (Van Nistlerooy) is punching well above his weight tbh. 94045 A few minutes after that photo he was probably fisting above his weight as well
19. With Woodgate you'd have to be looking at some sort of pay as you play deal because the risk of him missing half a season or more is always there. If he's fit he's amongst the best defenders in the world and had he never had the injury problems he may well have been thought of as the best. As somebody said though, if he keeps fit and plays regularly then you'd think Madrid wouldn't want to let him go.
20. What if the article had been: "a story about an alleged assault on a young lass that also mentioned his pace, movement and 100% effort on the ptich
21. Both Hughes and Dyer are distinctly improved by the presence of Nobby. Hughes best run at fullback was with Solano and some of Dyers best football was played with Nobby to his right.
22. He was never a world beater, but it was yet another stupid, pointeless souness sale as he set about dismantling a squad he himself said was too small, and then he whinges every fucking day about needing more players!!! Hughes wouldn't have been in my team with every player fit, but he can cover RB and CB and is good to have on the bench as well. I certainly wouldn't sign him back, but we could have used him this season.
23. Have we had a single red card this season that wasn't either debatable or just blatant bollocks from the ref, because we have had some shite of them. For this red card you could argue he didn't even foul him so its nothign, or if you think he did foul him there was a toon player back defending and the villa striker was going away from goal, so its a yellow at best. But then, Riley is a complete twat and a red card against us was to be expected.
24. hope so, of course there will still be some, despite the certain upsurge in team performances, who would say we are "better off without him"...although I suspect most of them will keep their head down and be quiet ... 93583 Let's get him back - assaults on 19 year old girls are EXACTLY the sort of thing I want from a centre forward. 93767 And instant, ill informed, snap judgements of unproven guilt are what i want from toon fans
