1. Thats what's annoying though, with the money we'd pay, the tranfer funds available, players here like Owen, the ground, the crowd and the potential we could get top class managers but fat boy most likely hasn't spoken to them. So the problem isn't how appealing the job is, its fat fred not asking them or accepting their offers if indeed they did all want the job. If Roeder does get a short term contract then i think we can expect the return of Shearer in the following season!!!
2. Are you thick, Papa?? Portly Freddie told us that 'top managers' wanted the job so there must have been 'top' appointments other than Roeder!!!! 131313 Thats what's annoying people. That fat fred basically had it that top class managers were begging for the job and that its a job "anyone in football would want" etc. and now it seems blatant that he's spoken to O'Neil and then went straight to Roeder
3. In his time at the smogs they have 1 carling cup, but has anyone really been impressed by them on a consistent basis, clearly their own fans haven't been, as more than once they've wanted rid of McClaren. However i feel sure he will be next England boss.
4. To answe i would need to know what Fat Fred's alternatives were, rather than all the alternatives we as fans would like him to have spoken to before Roeder. It may well be that after trying O'Neil, Fat fred sees it as between Roeder and a some ppl we wouldn't rate at all in which case the answer is yes. If it's between Roeder and all the viable managers around europe that i myself would ant offered it first then Roeder wouldn't be the no.1 choice.
5. We may never know, but i think most people think he's spoken to O'Neil, thats failed or failing and he's turned to Roeder. The idea that he would have got off his arse and used his brains to talk t the likes of Hitzfeld sadly doesn't even enter my mind, just as the idea of getting a top class but foreign coach doesn't enter Fred's limited mind. Roeder is alot better than some of the people out there, including many we've been linked with and he does understand this club and its fans but h should have been the choice after fat boy had scoured europe for the very best. 131113 Hey! I did scour Europe! 131116 And what was your conclusion, who should we be making our new manager? The fans need to know!!!

7. Ah, its a while since we've had the "world class" debate, but it always comes round again. Firstly there is an ever present problem that world class means different thing to different people. But to say world class = getting into a world XI is ludicrous, as that means there can only ever be 11 world class players at anyone time and they have to be in 11 different positions. So if you have 3 of histories greatest strikers aroudn at the same time one of them by definition isn't world class!!! An as for Owen he blatantly is a world class striker. Strikers have to score goals, and he does it against the best the prem has to offer, the best europe has to offer and the best international football has to offer. He does it in every tournament big or small and when the pressure is on. He's going to end up Englands all time greatest scorer taking over from Charlton and to say he isn't world class is a joke to tbh.
8. Jesus wept! You'd be ashamed to climb down your stairs in the morning and leave the house. 131057 I know what you mean...if i wasn't 5ft 4 and a half i'd never set foot outside!
9. My worry was always that Chelsea would have the hangover from winning the title and not really give a shit against Blackburn, but then get a bollocking from Jose and pick themselves up to give us a hell of a tough game, as they don't like losing anytime.
10. With you it would be: "5 minutes in, boredom set in"
11. Since Roeder has done really well it meant the club didn't have to rush anything, and clearly we haven't!!! Whether this is due to Shepherd taking his time, England job causing us problems with our choices or any other reason, i haven't had a problem with it tbh. What worries you is that if Fred goes for Roeder you would be pretty sure that it was at best after O'Neil refusing and that he hasn't gone near people like Hitzfeld with any sort of offer.
12. Come on now lets be serious here for a moment, the thing about the germans is...they don't like it up em!!!
13. Carrick is an entirely different kind of player and role in the team so i doubt they'd have been in direct competition. Nolan like Dyer has no chance of starting but i know who Sven would prefer to have on the bench as an attacking option if the two and it would be Dyer with his pace and direct running, so i reckon Sven would have taken Dyer. 130587 Which is extremely unfair, as Nolan has been awesome all season and Dyer has made 7 appearences this season. However, I agree with you when you say Sven will probably take Dyer ahead of Nolan regardless. 130592 Tbh i wouldn't comment on Nolans season as i have paid no attention to him whatsoever other than reading he's scored goals and played well of course. I'm a fan of having the likes of Dyer and Wright-Phillips, players who aren't going to start but coming of the bench against tiring defences can rip them apart. From what little i've seen i'd take Lennon for the same reason as he seems to have a hell of a lot of pace and would create problems for defences.

I think Carrick will be going anyway, regardless of whether Dyer was going or not. 130590 And he should, one of him or Parker (before he got sick!) was always needed to provide a different option in midfield.

16. If he'd been fit i think he had an excellent chance of going. Sven rates him highly and the fact is coming of the bench he can change a game against any defence and would have been a big asset. He'd never start as he isn't in the same class as the likes of Gerrard, Lampard etc. but he'd have been great to have as a sub for England.
17. .....and O'Neill for Fulham, McClaren for England, Mowbray for Boro and Christopher Biggins for the NUFC pantomime! 130460 I think Biggins could do a job!!! He played the emperor Nero in I Claudius, so i think he'd work well with somebody like Fat Fred!
18. I actually saw the Jur Cuurl goal recently on SSN and have to admit, Gemmil was right, he did look like Maradonna for those few moments! Not so sure we'll see Crouch looking like Pele though, unless he's going to do an advert for impotence sufferers???
19. I think you're just trying to blacken his name quite frankly!
20. No idea what the racist title is about, but the tackle was a disgrace and yet more piss poor work by ref and linesman to not send him off.
21. He's actually missed quite a bit of it with injury on and off, especially in the first half of the season, which makes the 17 goals (and numerous assists) even more impressive. It is also true that if he were here and not at Blackburn then we'd be finishing well above them. 129962 Can't argue with that... 129984 But you can't argue with the fact that team spirit improved vastly after his departure. The results speak for themselves 129997 And you'll find that he's single-handedly destroyed all morale and team spirit at Blackburn which is now just filled with people who all hate him and who know for a fact they'd be better of withut him and the annoying goals, assists, pace, skill and the like!
22. Did anyone see the Quinn comments about how when they get it right they are bigger and better than NUFC etc. Firstly he's wrong, at best he could have said possibly as big and that would be debatable. Secondly its good to see he'll fit in well there with his first and indeed probably only aim being concerned with NUFC and being above us rather than actually aiming to win soemthing and have sustained success regardless of what NUFC are doing! Mind you fair play to some of the mackems, theres a thread on the smb with some of them knocking him for his comments and the obsession with NUFC.
23. That he ever played, never mind getting 40 odd caps was a national embarassment!

25. It was actually on the national new at the end when i was watching...to be fair though i can't say i blame him!
