The best and worst of recent comedy shows

"I Don't Really Know!" 79006 Having bought the DVD i have to say i enjoyed it even more the second time round, top quality work from Gervais and Merchant again. -
Yer dads a fucking legend! 78658 Yeah, take out Rod Stewart and Earth Wind and Fire and you couldn't get much better from a parent! My dad likes the stones as well which was a bonus. I was lucky that most of the stuff my parents played i liked (and indeed still like) as it was mostly rock n roll, motown, blues, soul and other sixties music.

What is "toonarama" then? If it was an NUFC based version of Futurama, that i would pay good money to see (something i can't ever say about the team under Souness)! Or is it an NUFC version of bananarama!

The way this club is run does my head in. Any semi-professionally run club with compitent coaches and staff could make life easier for us. All you ask is that when a player gets injured, they diagnose it, explain it and give a good guide of when the player will be back. And then shock, horror aroudn the time they said the player will be near or about to return. With this club it goes like this: Player gets injured, he'll be out for 2 months, no with its only a week, actually sorry its definitely 8 weeks, no he'll be playing tomorrow! They don't just get things worng, they also don't tell us things. Like with Carr, they leave us all thinking he's pissing about with an injury that Shearer recovered from in no time, when he's actually ot a whole new injury, but it takes them weeks to point that out. And what about Taylor, do you have a brain and give him the op and have him out for one long period, or do you do what our imbeciles did and think wait about 10 weeks, bring him back knowing it can pop out again at anytime and he'll have to have the op anyway and miss another 3 months! I mean did they seriously think a centreback playign in the prem wasn't likely to even slightly knock his shoulder at anytime!!!

Some will actually agree with that, mate. 78927 How could they not agree, Souness, McDermot and Anal Oliver have all in the past said/reported its the best ever team spirit so it must be true!!! Seriously though i have never feared relegation and i still don't even with the world biggest prick in charge. What i have always feared was mind numbingly dull and depressing notthingness, not relegated but not challenging for anything, no entertainment, no hope and being angry at the match all the time!

Divine-Righters demand to be honoured
Papa Lazaru replied to Dr Kenneth Noisewater's topic in Newcastle Forum
So you don't see anything wrong at all in two manu managers winning it once and get knighted, but the likes of Clough, Shankly, Paisley et al get fuck all for daring to win it with a club that isn't manu. 78385 Ahh, well you see, I'm referring to the original point that Parry thinks that Carragher and Gerrard should be knighted. Your point about the managers you mention is a good one though. 78386 Yes, the manu players as far as i remember never got anything, so he can't really expect the pool players to. However manu in the form of Fergie were recognised and honoured and Liverpool should get the same, especially as both not only won the CL but did it with amazing comebacks. -

Typical of this country that for a truly disgusting and evil crime, he could be out in 6 years and she isn't even going to a proper prison and will be out in no time. How they could get anything other than life (and i mean locked up until the day they do us all a favour and die) defies belief...and yet doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

The best and worst of recent comedy shows

Hyperspace really was quite bad, and wasted Nick Frost and kevin Eldon. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as Red Dwarf, that was unlikely but had hoped for something worth watching, but it just wasn't funny. -
Its a joke that Fat Fred has made it that expensive to sack Souness. But the simple fact is with each place higher you finish in the prem worth a load of money (is it £500,000?) you could easilly point out that sackign him and a caretaker or new boss improving things will get back most if not all of the money by climbing higher than Souness would in a very average premisership. As for the blame, Souness has been a one man disaster who has ruined us, but Fat Fred can't escape blameless. He hired a known shite manager who was busy relegating Blackburn, paid them for him, paid Souness a fortune nad has failed to sack him at any point thus far. Also i haven't forgotten Fred allowing (and even joining in) Souness' character assasination of Bellamy and Robert as he was about to sell them, makign sure every club knew we were desperate and would accept crap money for both. For a supposedly shrewd businessman Fred wants shooting for that episode.
-
To be fair though, they're nothing like girls aloud, they have a manager who knows what he's doing and who has got success despite a complete lack of talent!
-
To be fair Papa L, Oliver is now obsessed with getting Souness out ever since h pissed him off and will probably use everything he can to do so... As Ally and I have pointed out, he only has to read a few NUFC forums and he knows what the fans want and will write about it to add pressure... 77867 It is quite obvious how shallow and transparent Oliver is and how quickly he's turned on Souness since he fell out with him! What is sad though is that because of how easilly influenced/fooled alot of fans are and how thick Fat Fred is, had Oliver been doing his job as a journalist from day one, Souness would have been out long ago. I'm no journalist but if i had been Oliver i guarentee i could have got Souness out before this season started. Its not hard, just put a negative spin on everything instead of kissing his arse, focus all stories on the bad stuff instead of hiding it, back Bellamy, Robert etc. instead of the boss and continually question his tactics, selections, coaching, fitness work and the like and sooner or later the fans and then Fred would react.

The manu biass thing is glaringly obvious. Fergie and Busby (manu) win it once and get knighted. Paisley, Shankly, Clough and several other managers win it, sometimes more than once but don't manage manu and get fuck all. But why should that surprise anyone in this country! -
Very true, and i've noticed from talking to people, that more and more are coming roudn to the view that he absolutely has to go and now, with anythign better than this one man disaster, whether it be something short term, long term, Shearer, or even letting the players pick the team and tactics themselves!!! 77827 I kinda like that idea , although isn't that just the same as Shearer being manager? 78009 To be honest whilst Shearer wouldn't be my choice for manager i am intrigued as to exactly what changes he would instantly make. He's right in the heart of things and i would love to see which players would be straight out of the team, which woudl be in and the style/tactics employed. If he picked himself then surely he would play to suit his game, ie. width, pace and creativity to set him up and do his leg work for him.
-
I was dreading that as well. We could have easilly ended up with either an embarassing atmosphere as various groups react differently to Bellamy, or worse a potentially nasty atmosphere with infighting and fans clashing. But as somebody else on the thread said if he had played and had scored the winner/a goal in general you can bet the head would have been turned up on Souness, so in that sense he's escaped yet again.

It used to be quite alot of people wanted him out, but many of them not until this season ended, now its increasingly becoming everyone wants him out and alot of them want it now. The whole mess was probably best highlighted by an article from Graham Taylor recently. Now we all know the mistakes he made as maanger but he was a respected coach and knows the basics of the game very well. And he, after watching us said that we had absolutely no structure, organisation, tactics or gameplan. That he couldn't work out what we were doing, that the players had no clue either and that we didn't even do the very basics of football. And he's damn right. Souness has produced dull, negative depressing football to watch, but its also lacking in any tatcics, gameplan or even basic ideas of whats going on. We never look like scoring and we play some truly awful long ball football. This is bad enough when aimed at Shearer who can cope, but when Souness signs a player like Luque with his attributes and gets players to smack the ball up at him, its embarassing.
-
I don't think they mentioned team spirit much under Keegan, as it was obviously great and therefore didn't need to be mentioned every sibngle week! But the way Keegans team played there was always a chance of a goal or hope of a goal (for me anyway). I don't have the stats obviously, but under Souness its something like once we've come from behind and won in the prem, and the records of all our other managers would have to be better than that!!!
-
Thats fair enough, i think he's easilly worth the hassle (as have all but oen of his managers), but not everyone thinks that way. The difference now as supposed to in the past, is everyone knows for a fact we won't come back. You see/hear it when you're in pubs watching away matches, we go behind and thats it. In the past i always held out soem hope, and we even looked like coming back at times int he past, now its simply a case of game over and that is truly depressing, as footy fans always need hope.
-
Because i have to pay to go and watch some of the most depressing, negative, long ball playing, clueless, tactically inept, formationless, shit football i've seen at St. James with no hope of it improving under Souness...it makes me sad frequently, and angry even more. I never said i was sad Bellamy was out, i stated it was saving Sounes' worthless arse again>. The fact he won't play benfits NUFC which is good, as a side effect it could help keep Souness in the job which is bad. 77727 Anyone with a timeshare in half a brain would find that difficult to understand tbh. 77730 Are there many people on here with time shares in half brains?

He'd have destroyed our defence in their current form, Souness is saved yet again!

Bobby may have let the younger players get a little out of hand but as he said hismelf its what they gave him on the pitch that matters, ie. putting NUFC first and not his own petty little vendettas. Of course he did that hismelf with Nobby, but with Bellamy he had the brains to see what he offers on the pitch and put up with him being annoying. And to be fair Bellamy has only had serious trouble with one manager, a manager who has had problems with many, many players before. But like i said, its Souness (and his cronies) Bullshit that does my head in, as if Bellamy was almost singlehandedly ruining the team spirit and that now he's gone its amazing. Well it isn't, its shite and despite what 1 or 2 of them say, they don't give a shit about playing for Souness and there is practically no team spirit or morale as shown every single time we have any adversity (ie. going a goal behind etc.) Souness may be an abysmal manager but he's a grade A bullshit merchant, i'll give him that!
-
Basically Souness is a twat, Bellamy's a twat and Shola's garbage. 77685 Bellamy may well be a twat, but is there still anyone out there who believes he (and Robert, perhaps) were ruining our team spirit whereas now its "the best Souness has ever had". The team with the shite team spirit (and Bellamy) would be the one who used to regularly come back from behind to win games, the one with the amazing team spirit is the one who is beaten every single time they go behind and play like it. Its obvious from the fact Souness pretty much mentions the dressing room or the spirit every week that he is way overcompensating, is hiding the fact he hasn't improved it at all and is tryign to still justify his fall outs with players by bullshitting about this amazing dressing room he has created. You don't hear other managers who actually have a great dressign room/spirit mention it all the time, they just sit back and let the results show how good the spirit is. If he mentions it once more or says the word "proper" in any context i hope the interview twats the useless fucker!
-
Plenty of people connected with Blackburn and fans have pointed out many things. These include the drastic improvement in coaching and training/fitness, tactics and football being played. It isn't rocket science to see the reason for it. Of course i don't know how Rovers can be playing well, i mean with Bellamy there the dressing room and team morale must be abysmal, as supposed to the amazing spirit we have here shown in the fact we can't ever come back from behind in the prem under Souness. And why not bring up a favourite Souness quote/load of bulshit: Bellamy will only ever get you 7 goals a season but Shola is a 20 a season player! (may have been 9 not 7, i can't remember) Well Bellamy already has 9 and has been injured half the time, can't quite see Shola getting to the 20 mark this season though!!!

Its a surprise to see Anal Oliver (unlike Fat Fred) finally seems aware that many intelligent toon fans are wanting the likes of Hitzfeld, Hiddink, Le Guin etc. and that we aren't all obsessed with having a geordie/English/British manager! Shepherd has shown more than once when the right player is available he will pay seriously big money to get the best. Yet when it comes to the manager, the most important man at any club instead of going for the best we go for an imbecellic fuckwitt who was in the process of getting Blackburn relegated and we actually pay them for the "privallege" of getting him! Its no coincidence that the teams who go for some of europes best and respected coaches benefit and teams who go for shite Blackburn managers suffer: Arsenal - got Wenger and have never looked back Chelsea - Got Jose and are almost invincible Liverpool - Got Rafa and are champs of europe Spurs - Got Jol and could get into CL something they have never once looked capable of Toon - Got Souness and now look second best to Mansfield
