  1. He might not be quite the player we sold, but I still think 7 million is a steal considering what else you'd likely get for that money. I agree, having played virtually a full season he has justified a gamble of that kind of fee i think, but i don't know if we'll ever see Woody at his very best again, which is a shame, though not so much since he plays for the smogs!
  2. I've spoken to 2 or 3 Boro fans who watch them regularly and it sounds like he's not quite the player we had, with all those injuries finally taking a little from him. Seems like he's lost the edge of his pace a touch and its no suprise them number of muscle injuries he's had. Also i was thinking myself if the player that was at NUFC had played that many games this season the papers, tv pundits etc. would all be constantly banging on about him becasue he was absolutely amazing, so i don't think he's quite reaching those levels. That said he's streets ahead of anything we have or are likely to sign with Roeder in charge and if he stays fit the smogs will have done well to sign him. But i'm not sure they're quite signing the player we remember.
  3. People mention it because its true, whether you rate him or not, and i didn't think he'd make it myself. The fact is though, if the people who run this club knew what they were doing, when he still had a couple of years or more on his contract they have loaned him for a year to a championship side (instead of him festering away in the reserves and warming the bench), then if he bangs in a shitload we can sell him for decent fee as people will want him. Erm, he did go out on loan, didn't he? I know he went for a while, but not a whole year unless i've remembered wrong! I think if he'd had a whole season and reached the kind of goals tally he has at Cardiff then we could have been looking at a decent fee for him as people will always take a gamble on goalscorers, even if they've done it at a lower level. 17 goals in 39 games at Barnsley That was a start, which should have been followed either by giving him a run in our team if they thought him good enough or another year on loan, where he could have done what he has at Cardiff and then we could have got a good price for him.

  6. The quick solution is get a few places like New Monkey, that will attract charvas by the hundred, wait till each one of them is full to the brim with charva scum, lock the doors and windows and choose whatever method of extermination you like! Keep it quiet enough, having taken out every last one of them and then repeat the process with the ones who didn't make it that week! You mightn't get them all but it'd be a hell of a start!
  7. I'd genuinely have every last one of them rounded up and shot. The country would be unrecognisable overnight without this vermin. I've been going on about it for years and alot of people didn't seem to realise it was going to get worse and worse as more and more of them appear, start getting away with more and more and breed like fucking rats. Its the first time in evolutionary history that the human race has devolved, they are a sub-species of human as i certainly don't class myself as the same species as them. And the fact that these fuckers outbreed actualy humans is disturbing, the fact that their kids and grankids will be ten times worse is the stuff of nightmares!
  8. Basically he's going to end up with on or near 20 goals as a young player in his first ever season in the prem, playing in a poor team who create little and play the wrong way to get the best out of him, so i think he's made a pretty decent start. Yes he can do more, and his movement, touch etc. could have been better, but without his goals this season we would have been absolutely fucked.
  9. atmosphere must come across very different, as we were usually loud today and the team got plenty of support, where as the Chelsea fans were the same as their team just not up for it I'd say the same, the atmosphere this season is rarely anything other than abysmal, but today was louder than usual (though still poor). And the away fans were so bad that people were chanting about them being the worst aways fans this season.
  10. Talked up Taylor a few times now... Cue Anal Oliver writing an article that Jose wants to sign Taylor to play alongside Terry (and then for England) but that Roeder and Fred have told them to fuck off as we keep all our geordie players!!!
  11. Yes, the official prem rule of anytime a player from Chelsea, manu etc. goes to ground its a foul irrespective of what actually happened. It could also be pointed out to him that Milner was taken out twice in the first half by the fullback, both bookable offences and the ref did fuck all. As well as in the second half when somebody chopped Martins down as we tried to break, the ref did nowt, played on gave, them a nothing freekick and didn't go back and book the player for the foul. The likes of Mourinho, Fergie and Wenger have no ground whatsoever to whinge about refs when they continually get everything their way, its the little teasm at the bottom who have cause to slag refs off as they get fuck all.
  12. Imagine the very idea of somebody who knows how to run a professional football club ever being allowed near St. James!
  13. I think it's rather a demand from Wenger. And i wouldn't argue! If a manager came to the toon and won what the likes of Wenger, Fergie, Mourinho et al have won i'd let them do and say what the fuck they liked in every aspect of the club!
  14. That is about as damning of them as any criticism we give them on here! If Anal in his love of all things geordie like Clark or people who "understand the club" like Roeder and Terry Mac can only bring himself to describe them as "fair" then he's basically calling them worse than shite! So in a way, if you look at it like that, he's finally got something right for once!
  15. If somebody is 50-50 then they shouldn't be playing at all, its not open to debate. If you're at best half ready to play then what use is that, he'll just get injured again.
  16. His point about long balls is totally valid, though Watford to my knowledge aren't "North" and they launch hundreds of the bastards, so its not just teams in the north! The rest of it is just typical arsenal whinging, to disguise the fact he's not hard enough to last in the prem and he's struggled to make any impact.
  17. Its strange how much the one game can affect the reaction to a whole season, but i think you're right. Another utterly shite performance and there will be a big reduction in an already small number of people likely to stay. Personally i'm not hanging around to applaud them for what's been an awful season, offering basically no achievment or entertainment. I applaud them at the end of evey game where its warranted and support them throughout all games. I don't boo them or give the stick, collectively or individually, as i'm a supporter and will always be, but i'm not going to stand around and revel in utter mediocrity, its just going to be uncomfortable for everyone. Those players who care will feel a bit embrassed at having to go round and those who don't give a toss will look like they're being dragged round as well! You can get the first round in at the Trent then. And then the plan is to all drink as much alcohol as it takes to forget the entire season ever happened!!!
  18. Sounds more likely as Mourinho is intellgent and would likely be right about us, rather than picking one of our best players as a weak link! Didn't realise Mourinho drafted scouting reports as well. Busy bloke tbh Unlike you who has plenty of time to type pedantic posts on a message board which add nothing to the thread. Continuing the tone of the thread? Half of it, mine added nothing but wasn't pedantic, however this one is!

  21. If only the bit in bold referred to Roeder and not Zog. Lets be honest, this season Zog has been mostly injured or way off the pace when he played, Most of this is explained by his trouble with injuries, the death of his father, being messed about by Roeder and us having such shit coaching and management. Throw in the fact he's a young lad and they often have a dip the year after they've done well and it wasn't unlikely he'd have a poor season. But he obviously has potential and ability, and showed before this season what he could do and if we lose him it will be yet another crap decision made by the club and its management. With the ammount of players we are lookign to shift out of the club we can ill affor to start dumping the ones we should be keeping!
  22. Aye, I remember hearing that. Don't know if there was any substance to it mind. I can remember Jose's leaked document said he was our danger man. Also, said that Given was weak as well IIRC Errrr, he is in certain departments Still best keeper we have had (certainly in my lifetime). Every player has a weakness. Looking at the Newcastle team he would be last person I would define as the weak link. If Given was genuinely our weak link i'd be happy to see that team represent us instead of the current one which has at any given moment anything up 10 players weaker than Given!

  24. Still, in his defence at least he won't blame the injury to Duff for any future results, in fact i doubt he'll even mention injuries at all, because Glenn Roeder doesn't do things like that!
  25. Always thought he was over-rated meself Most of these soloists are, can do all the techniques but all the songs get tiring after a minute or to and it lacks heart. Give me "Layla" over "For the love of god" anyday. Depends what you're rating them on to be fair. In terms of technical ability and what they can do with a guitar they are amazing and so their ability isn't overrated at all. If you're rating them for their song writing ability, and how they use their ability to produce music you want to listen to more than once then that's a different thing alltogether and alot of them might be found lacking in depth there! Yeah but steve vai was beaten in a guitar duel by the karate kid! cant be that good That is true, and the Kid didn't even have mr Muyagi at his side training him for that one!
