  1. He floated the company, made an absolute killing as the shares were overpriced. He is now buying the company back for less than he sold it Its pissed the people who lost money on the shares off, meanwhile he now has a big bag of money AND the company.
  2. I hope the second part of that post is true. If not then the first point has made me feel (slightly) better about the Redknapp type prospect
  3. The best place to get accurate imformed definitive answers is on a message board. imo
  4. Where is the "lets get it out of the way so we can move on" option
  5. Thats my theory fucked then, cheers doctor
  6. I really hope you are right. Ashley is a billionaire, hopefully this is where we find out he is going to use his cash to fund his ambitions, otherwise why would he have bought the club in the first place.
  7. I've gone the other way - initial delight is now tempered by what looks like lack of lined up replacement. Please God not another trawl through mediocre British managers before settling. I hope the Redknapp thing is people taking the "british" remark and making 2+2 = 5 So basically those who wanted him sacked are unhappy, and those who thought he should get more time are pleased.
  8. Thats exactly how I feel. This is now the first chance to really find out if Ashley is likely to make a good chairman or if we are looking at more of the same for the future. We are about to find out what our new owner is all about
  9. I reckon the meeting went along the lines of SAM: We need to buy Kevin Nolan Ashley: OK Ive heard enough
  10. Would I be guilty of Stokeing the rumours if I asked if a sex tape was involved
  11. anybody know what is going on here?
  12. Thats hardly a fact - the courts seemed to beleive it was worth locking him for. I dont discount the posibility I may change my mind but at the moment I hope we never see him anywhere Newcastle again.
  13. Because if he blows £30 million on shit then gets the sack at the end of the season (which in my opinion is looking likely) then, well, we'll have £30m pounds worth of shit footballers the next manager probably wont fancy. I didnt suggest he should blow 30 million on shit though, I would assume there is some sort of process where targets ae identified, the improvements they are expected to bring discussed, a level of fee we are willing to pay agreed between board and manager, and then they try and get the player signed. This sort of discusion is stupid. If we are to have any chance of any success at all there has to be a structure that can provide it. Allerdyce may well not be the man to bring success, but he certainly wont if he isnt even allowed to try and improve the team. If they genuinely dont think he can do the job they have to get rid of him. No-one is convinced he will definitely succeed, but if they arent going to sack him they have to provide him with the means to succeed. Failing that they need to find somebody they will support and install them Mort Ashley and Allerdyce all have to be in agreement with where we are, where we want to be and what we need to do to get there or we will end up much worse than we are now. If theyare going to sack Allerdyce at the end of the season because Mourinho or the like has been lined up then fair enough. We should be asking if Ashley and Mort know how to run the club in a way that will bring success, how they deal with Allerdyce will help us find out
  14. If the squad can be improved by players that are available at a fair price, then of course Mort/Ashley/allerdyce should be trying to buy them. Why is this even a question?
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiBFp_0PCbI ok I give up at the smartarse insert clip shite
  16. I saw Beckham last night - we both went to see the same concert
  17. three nil to the toon, nailed on, no problem whatsoever. The BBC are dogshite at picking games, the underdogs never perform and the games are ALWAYS over way before half time, just sit back and enjoy it - nothing can possibly go wrong Im off to betfair to get my 50 quid on
  18. Bloke boasts about buying a car with cash won by gambling to spam his website hilarity ensues Its made my morning back at work more enjoyable. As a sidenote- man alive do car owners love a niche forum or whaa??
  19. I would have thought there would be some sort of gross misconduct clause in the contract, and I would imagine getting banged up for abh or whatever would be enough to activate it. There seems to be a bizzarre lack of paper gossip about it considering the circus we normally attract. It is possible I have been enjoying myself too much to notice mind. Without prejudging the situation, It looks like I had him all wrong, I fell h.l.&s for his psychobabble bullshit, thought he was sorting himself out and had great hopes for his Newcastle career. I now hope he fucks off and doesnt come back, I dont particularly care if he gets sent down, or for how long, I am happy for justice to run its course, but whatever the outcome I dont want to see him anywhere near a Newcastle shirt again. Hopefully he will be dealt with quickly one way or another, and we dont get dragged into some soap opera - I would be perfectly happy to never hear see or hear his name again.
  20. Partyng on NYE is for teenagers, secretaries and the socially inept only. Definitely amateur night. I live ten minutes from the sea, so its possible we might take a walk down and watch the fireworks. I have got a shitload of booze in the house though, and I am planning on giving up for a while, so I will probably get bladdered, knock on all the neighbours doors, and yadder on drunkenly to them for a couple of hours. I havent spoken to them since last year, I dont think they like me. I hope they've got some decent booze in
