Does it matter who owns the Toon ?
spongebob toonpants replied to OllieBurton's topic in Newcastle Forum
Ruud Gullit Graeme Souness Glenn Roeder Sam Allardyce. Please - defend these managers and tell me where they would have took us at their optimum level of performance. I was there in 1982 against QPR when Keegan struck the ball & "the crowd sucked it in to the net" I followed the Toon home & away & shared in the magic of the Keegan years. I followed the toon when KK was manager & saw some of the most exciting & adventurous football I've ever seen. I was there for the "messiah's" return this year & - you know what - I sensed then something was wrong. It wasn't the same somehow. The crowd were relatively subdued. The atmosphere was depleted, despite the cardboard hats, cheerleaders & associated bullshit. Keegan FAILED to inspire, the results didn't come & when it came to the crunch, as per usual, the little f*ck*r walked... The ONLY reason KK returned to Newcastle was because his business was in the sh!t & he needed the wonga. I swear, in 1984 when he took off from St James in that helecopter he was piss*ng on us OK you win. Go back to typing shit jokes in big fonts -
Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse...

Keegan turned him down, he must of thought Edgar was good enough or he was already planning to walk by then. Zayatte looked solid against Arsenal on Saturday too. You are a trier, I'll give you that -
I was in with the away fans that day, tbh it left a bad taste in my mouth. Which I washed away with Satay King Prawns and cheeky little Sauvignon Blanc. fucking philistine, you should be drinking a Pinot Grigio with SKP, or perhaps a nice Sancerre if you're feeling flush. Philistine? armpit. arsehole. calling. hairy A aged sensamillion is a far better accompaniment for a tasty SKP! fyp

More obsessed than Leazes and without the love for the club

oh good, another thing to add to the Keegan legend.

Apart from the moving to local rivals bit isn't that pretty much what Owen did at Liverpool? Yet you don't hear them harping on about it, then again the fact that they're not so insecure about their place in English and European football as Spurs may have something to do with it. Yeah that small detail. At least they got some wedge for him. One of the best CBs in the country at the time, walked out on a free. If that hadn't happened I am pretty sure Defoe would still be a spur too. The point I'm making is that you haven't gotten over it because you haven't moved on as a club. Spurs were a mid-table club when he left, Spurs are a mid-table club now - if you had any significant success in the period in between I don't think your fans would be half as bothered about Sol Campbell. It proved that Arsenal were, are and will remain for the foreseeable future the bigger club. They Spurs fans continue to prove it with their behaviour That's pretty much what it is, he went to Arsenal where he won league titles and FA Cups, as you say, Spurs fans are just bitter that they're local rivals have been so much more successful and that Campbell played an integral part in that success. You people don't get to the football much do you? Both part of the new fan phenomenon that is ruining the game. Aye you've got me figured out

They are planning on giving the spelling gadgee Cameron was on about a job

Has he actually resigned/had his resignation accepted/been sacked or anything yet. I have no idea what the official situation is
-
I am starting to think this more and more. Ashley is obviously very keen on gagging those who work for him. Joe coming in and babbling on about Keegan and takeovers just seems so out of place
-
or quieten the protests

Nigerian takeover only 48 hours away?

I was assuming it was including a transfer kitty. Just having the money to buy the club and none to run it wouldnt make much sense -
Joe Kinnear named new manager

I have had thoughts along this line. I will be remaining sceptical up to the point the sale is official -
first interview Ive read of his that seemed reasonable

Wrong! Citeh? Plus you can hardly call getting the England job walking away from Fulham. Well you can but you've got to be a sports journalist, a psychotic dwarf or Mike Ashley. He resigned from City. I'll concede point about not walking away from Fulham as he was going to the England job. The point about the clamour for the England job as I seem to recall (but not very well) is that there was no-one English that anyone else wanted. Plus to be honest you can't really judge how well he was doing at the top level considering Fulham weren't in the Premiership at the time. What does that even mean. The reason that there was no one else that anyone wanted is because they all wanted Keegan. The only way people can spout this crap about him walking away at the first sign of trouble is because he managed over ten years without getting the sack. The vast Majority of the time at Newcastle and MAncity both legendary for sacking managers at the drop of a hat
-
That explains the clamour for him to be manager of England when he was at Fulham. Its impressive how you manage to get every point exactly wrong in your post well done

All obviously going to get the push when the club gets sold. I imagine they all have stupidly lucrative long term contracts, so will all become stinking rich for their roles in this farce. I cant describe the hatred I have for these people

+1 I agree completely. This walking out shite sends me into a frenzy, why does nobody mention he has never been sacked.
