  1. Any club will struggle to fill a stadium of that size in the current economic climate. Astronomical prices and a general indifference towards football don't help either. Reading through Glory-Glory i've realised why I dislike Spurs so much - they're far too similar to us. Some of the shite the come out with could've been plucked from the minds of the gurning, tracksuit clad spastics that 'represent' our club on SSN.
  2. I'd put my life on Gutierrez being a Yid in disguise.
  3. Very likely it's about as fictional and overblown as ours was.
  4. Back to the point of the thread, i've just noticed the words "Naming Rights" emblazoned across the front of the stadium. Unless they're going down the Mackem route of giving their stadium a bizarre title then that obviously means they're going to bend over and get fucked in the arse for a couple of extra pennies from Sudafed/Waitrose/Preperation H. I'd be hugely fucked off it Fat Ash or anyone for that matter tried to sell the naming rights to SJPs
  5. I love the inevitable fall out prior to the Newcastle-Spurs league matches Shame it only happens twice a year. We must've had a rogue Yid pop up on this board every game for the past few years.
  6. I can see him making them harder to beat but wins may be tough to come by. I can't see Roque Santa Cruz scoring when getting nothing but balls hoofed in his general direction for 90 minutes.
  7. Ooooooh. Stevie's going to have you.
  8. Oh dear And Enrique was bloody good against Pompy.
  9. Out of a job as of a few minutes ago. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ers/7784967.stm

  11. Kinnear, despite being Ashley's patsy and being prone to making ridiculous substitutions at the worst possible time, deserves a chance. Maybe the win yesterday has just given me a renewed sense of optimism but I think he's effectively learning on the job and we're making small steps in the right direction. He deserves a huge pat on the back for the work he's did with the defence regardless of what you think of him otherwise. I wouldn't want him here past the summer mind.
  12. Howcome? There has to be quite a few clubs after him now Which clubs are going to be able to offer him the money he wants and the first team football he needs to get back into the England squad? None of the big four seem interested/able to offer him first team football, City can get any striker in world football and nee one else can really afford him. Providing we haven't offered him less than he is on at the minute there is a chance that he may stay. I dont think he will go in January to be honest. Kinnear is spot on. The £4m or so we would get for him wouldn't get us a replacement anywhere near his calibre. But come January he is free to discuss contracts with any other club. I'm sure a few clubs will be looking at him if he's on a free. The guy is on fire! Am I right in thinking both Everton and Villa want him. Villa can afford him that goes without saying and Everton I think would pull out the stops if it means signing a player of Owens brilliance for free. I don't think Villa can afford him. Lerner seems to be running a fairly tight ship moneywise and I can't see them breaking the bank for Owen. I can't see Kenwright allowing Moyes to go for Owen either since he wants out of the club. I disagree, Lerner seems to say the money is there if you want it, they spent pretty big in the summer just gone they signed davies, sidwell, luke young, milner, friedel etc. They spent well over £20m in all, Didn't accept any bids for Barry. I think the only player they sold was Luke Moore! There's a difference between signing those players who are on fairly low wages and spunking £100k+ a week up the wall on one player.

  14. They're not a perfect partnership but neither were Shearer and Ferdinand, both are scoring goals though which is what matters. Martins seems to be setting Owen up with a fair few chances in the games they've partnered each other which is encouraging, his movement has improved when he hasn't got the ball too as he's dragging defenders out of position more which is what someone like Owen benefits from. 13 between them in the league which isn't far behind some of the more high profile partnerships in the Prem. Martins seems to be drifting out on the wing and helping Jonas from time to time too. The cross he supplied for Owen's first real chance was a very good one. Kinnear deserves some credit too. He seems to have done something no manager in ages has done and made us a more solid outfit at the back. Now he just needs to stop talking shite and stop dicking around with subs and we may be okay this season

  16. Hopefully it'll be the same terms as he was offered before Keegan walked. I'm not holding my breath though.
  17. Is anyone else beginning to think that Owen and Martins might actually work together?
  18. We're just fucking useless tbh
  19. True I guess, for me most things are preferable to Ashley right now. Something else mentioned in another report about the same guy was that he would be very interested in returning Keegan to post. Keegan isn't the be all and end all. As much as I love the bloke I don't think any buyer should feel forced to bring him back in. In fact i'd hope whoever buys us doesn't bring him in as i'd like to see us move on. I agree that he's not the be all and end all, without a doubt had he not have been brought in by Ashley things may have been different but he may be the best we could hope for as thing go at present and I'd be sure he'd be very tempted to retake the role no matter what division we were in. If he came in I wouldn't be upset. I wouldn't be upset if he came back but i'd dread the fallout when he leaves. We can't have another couple of months like we've just had. My personal opinion is that if we manage to stay up this season bring Ketsbaia in and give him four/five years to build a team.
  20. The malaise has well and truly set in at chez Ketsbaia. I've never been so sure of anything in my life. I reckon it's WBA, Blackburn and ourselves for the drop. The only way we'll get out of it is if Wist 'Am have a complete nightmare in January.

  22. Get rid. She's either trying to play your or she's a proper head mental. Tell her that you've talked and talked and talked and you still don't know what she wants and you've had it. It's clear there is no future and while it may hurt to cut the cord the longer it goes on the harder and more painful it will be.
  23. Very similar, just lacking a "wide of the mark" and interview with Steven Taylor
