Ashley snubs takeover talks for cocktails
Ketsbaia replied to Scottish Mag's topic in Newcastle Forum
Bah. Serves me right for getting my hopes up this thing may be close to a conclusion by the weekend -
The Mail. That makes it about as reliable about as all their stories concerning child eating immigrants.

Why Born here? What possible difference could that make? I think he means if the websites are going to be represented at the meetings they really need to be localish. At least that's what I hope he meant.

Thats fine though, maybe I didnt make myself clear in the first post and that might explain Fish's answer. What they are talking about is having 50, 60, 100, 250k NUFC supporters worldwide who pay a small annual fee (£5 was mentioned as the sort of figure) to be recognised as a supporter, giving them some rights to put their points forward, take part in meetings if they want but more importantly their subs would pay towards running the thing (nobody however would be paid anything to take an active role) and allow a voice to be heard. The association would be recognised by the media and ensure that the only statements that hold any credence are theirs. No radgees from Walker or wannabe gangsters who proclaim themselves the "voice of the fans". Edit: Oh and more importantly you'd get a membership card Cool, I'm up for a card like. I want a card.

I agree with Stevie's point. N-O, Toontastic, Skunkers, TOTT etc. clearly have pull and have fans post on them from all over the world. They've got to play an active role in it if they support the idea.

I'm with Parky.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...icle3885412.ece So who is lying? Didn't MA also claim in his interview with the club magazine that we were free of debt barring the £20 million owed out on players like Luque. I do get the feeling he's had his PR team on massaging that statement for most of the weekend. Interestingly, that fella who was on SSN said the main concern from potential Arab investors was the alledged conduct of the fans. No mention of the financial problems.
-
Apparently, these guys won't flaunt money like Man City will and will run the club like a business. But it will certainly be more than what Ashley is offering so I would imagine £50m a transfer window. Where'd you hear that? Have they went from denying it to laying out a plan of action in less than an hour?
-
They're the same quotes lifted from the article which say he's going to sell.
-
Sky saying the deal could go through within the next 48 hours

If we're going to get an Arab owner he may as well filthy fucking rich

At least one journalist is standing up for us
Ketsbaia replied to Dr Kenneth Noisewater's topic in Newcastle Forum
Why? Winter is generally decent and seems to have a soft spot for us. IIRC he wrote a fairly unflattering article on us a few months back. I may be thinking of someone else mind. -
Does anyone else think it's fairly sick we can now bet on which airline will go out of business next?

I've called Henry Winter every name under the sun over the past few months but this is a decent article. -
I wish the lardy rentaquote would just fuck off. Every fucker knew the club was up shit creek financially so why he persists on denying it I don't know.

I like the sound of it and the fella behind it seems to have some very good ideas. I don't agree with some of the numbers, such as the amount of fans he can attract, but apart from that it sounds good. As Gemmill said if people keep shunning these ideas they'll never get the chance to work. I'll be interested to see what happens and whether this'll die a death if we bring in a new owner who we're satisfied with. If not and it grows i'll be willing to put my hand in my pocket.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7616401.stm An interesting article with some encouraging spiel from the 'experts' about how attractive Newcastle United is.

Didn't he appoint Wise, Jminez and Veteretrterre I don't think so. I always got the feeling those appointments were made by Ashley himself. I think Wise appointed himself. He does seem to have became the party guest no one has the balls to ask to leave, like.
