is this just a method you're using to slip in the fact you're going to Holland again? It is really good mind, although I'm not a massive fan of the Nikki character who features quite heavily.

Re: BRII, don't you find that a lot of Japanese films have exactly the same characters in it? the crazy one, the stroppy hero, the wailing girl, the quiet deadly one, the fat funny one?

Woodgate was a crock who we sold as soon as Freddy heard that he could make a couple of million on the deal. great defender though

creepiest thing I've seen on this board in a while. struck me as the kind of thing a Texan family say to their next meal just after they've attacked the school bus and kidnapped the cheerleader, the jock, the nerdy sarcastic one and the outcast

Was talking about this in the pub before and it stumped me. Since Shearer.. when was the last big money signing that actually came good? we're talking over £8m here. Robert- Good but incosistent and rendered useless by Souness' football Luque- Doesn't seem to have the speed of thought or determination to suceed in the Prem Martins- jury's still out on this one, but I have big reservations re: his movement and finishing Owen- crock and doesn't really want to be here, but no-one doubts his talent. Woodgate- see above, but sub doesn't with didn't

MC Knobehead anyone remember this lad, struts up and down Northumberland St rapping along to whatever black fella (calm down Gemmil) he's listening to on his walkman. Oblivious to the world around, how much of a tit he looks and that he's whiter than a KKK Rally. One for the lads in Leeds Scarey Mary 50 odd yr old who merrily sits in the Hyde Park pub talking to herself and mumbling, but if the place is just that right level of busy where it's filled with chatter, but not so loud you have to shout, you can see a glint in her eye as she engages in a full blown argument with herself. I mean Finger Wagging, Eye rolling, gasps of Shock, the whole kit and kaboodle. Great fun to observe, but terrifying to sit near. Bernard Dunno his real name, but he's a middle aged man who come into the Hyde Park Pub on the weekend on his todd. Wanders about a bit, looking at all the 18yr old freshers, holding two drinks at all times as if trying to give the impression he's with his mate who's just popped off to the loo. He even came in Fancy dress on Haloween, dressed as the least convincing vampire... Dracula wouldn't be able to bring himself to bite this pathetic old bastard.

I barely even remember what subjects I took at GCSE... shows how relevant they are. My Dad is Governor of Astley High School (probably suggested by my mam to get him out from under her feet now he's retired), he's looking into making radical changes there, including switching from A-Level to IB. I know that the highest scoring state school and Private school both used IB, but I don't know how big a switch it would be from A-Level teaching. He also wants to change the menu for school dinners and asked me what I thought about the Jamie Oliver thing... I mean, bloody hell... I'm not the model of good health am I. It's nice to see him actually get excited about something, cos he's been bored shitless since retiring. Which reminds me, I have to deliver a speech at his "do" on the 2nd... haven't even started writing anythign yet

At the end of the day it's more the exam boards dictating what is taught in schools. Nothing really the schools themselves can do in terms of dictating the syllabus. There are just various modules available to be taught. 2/3 of my A level subjects have coursework, which is alot preferable as it gives an indication of the student's ability through the course of a term, as opposed to 2 hours in a pressured situation. You can get someone who does well in the subject in class, but has a mare of an exam and fails. With coursework, such a scenario isn't as devestating. when I was a kid I much preferred exams to coursework because I found them easy and more structured than essays and the like. unfortunately this didn't prepare me for higher education so the culture shock scared the bejeezus out of me. Has anyone on here taken IB? I've heard they're better guages for a kids potential at Uni than A-Levels.

Maybe you should try watching one all the way through then..... No, I don't think so Got to admit they're pretty much ezxclusively enjoyed by boys mind. It's all a bit silly, but undeniably entertaining. I mean think of it this way, he drives the best cars, sleeps with the most women, sleeps with the prettiest women, kills the bad guys, has LOTS of cool toys, delivers god-awful one-liners without feeling shame. every man wants to be him tbh speaking of which, when is Casino Royale coming out?

I kind of get the impression that the teaching practises employed now are geared towards getting students through the exams, and not (as they should be) giving a genuine understanding of the subject to the kids. It strikes me that modern 6th formschooling is the same as Driving lessons, you're taught to pass the test and only learn to drive after the examination. my analogy is crap but I know what I mean

and if it doesn't come down you can buy us a pint right?

officially our worst start to the premiership. Some of the blame liea with Roeder, some with Souness, but the Chairmans grubby fingerprints are all over this result. bad appointments, bad transfer decisions, bad diet, bad PR... ] fuck I'm depressed, not with grabbing a point away from home against a team who haven't conceded a goal at home this season, but about the manner in which we played the first 80 odd minutes.
