That opportunity where we broke on them and Cisse had Colo and Sissoko (I think) in support. Papiss made the wrong decision every time. Either take it on his favorite right, or push it across for whomever was bursting into the box to his left. -

Moussa's played best out wide though. I'd be happy enough starting SdJ & Cisse, then exchanging the forward line for Mitrovic & Perez later on. -

That's not true though is it? I mean, I'm not a hammerhead shark, but I can definitely identify one. -
It should be a decision made after the Arsenal game. If we've been utterly destroyed, have a couple of injuries, are 18th in the league and Man Utd are having a wobble, then we should sack off the FA cup. However, if we've clawed our way up the league, have decent squad depth, we should almost sack off the league game against Man Utd and look to get past Watford in the cup.

bogtrotters, eh?

We've got Arsenal and Man Utd either side of the FA cup game against Watford. Unless we surge up the table and can afford to lose a couple you've kind of got to play a weaker side in this game. Hopefully we'll have signed a few players by then, but I'd be amazed if our 1st team played twice in 4 days. Suppose, given it's Man Utd at home on tv, they might be able to re-schedule for later on?

Mate is toying with the idea of leaving London and commuting in, some of the places he's looking at have cinema rooms with projectors rather than just massive tvs. Not sure if domestic projectors have caught up with tvs yet though.

What about an HD projector setup?

Of course it's better served. There's things you actually want to get to on Tyneside. What the fuck is worthwhile in Wearside? That Glass Museum thing?

What's the Metro issue?

How's that poverty treating you CT?

I don't know from where they muster the nerve to call St James' "the landfill", when their ground is roundly mocked for it's litter strewn pitch. Don't bother searching for pictures of "Rubbish on the pitch at Sunderland" it's just photos of our lot.

You'll get what you're given and be happy for it. There's kids in Africa who'd love 91.4%

SdJ wasn't as sharp in possession as I would have liked, attacks often seemed to break down when he got involved. That said, he was instrumental in transition play; Changing defence into attack. Cisse deserves plaudits for the shift he put in, but a better striker probably would have scored against a lackluster Liverpool. Thought Dummet played at near his best, but his best is nowhere near good enough. Ibe, Milner and later Firmino time and again tore him a new one. Also, up the other end of the pitch were huge gaps that a more complete fullback would have been able to take advantage of. He needs replacing as a priority. Colo, de Jong & Janmaat were very, very vocal and that paid dividends. There was a moment in the second half where we were defending a throw in, when a runner from midfield was spotted by Janmaat and he instructed Anita to cover. Now, big Vurn had a good game (best since West Ham), but he's still guilty of being unaware of the runners from deep. Would that run have lead to a goal? Who knows, but I'm glad we didn't find out. Taking Colback off made sense, he was on a yellow and tiring. Bringing Gouffran on made selling Abeid rank up there with selling Hughes in the "Most Regrettable & Inexplicable Transfers" by Newcastle. The second goal is the kind of goal we should be replicating game after game; Win the ball in the centre, immediately work it out wide, runners through the centre, high probability cross, goal. Lovely stuff. tl;dr We done a good sportsing day -
Cabaye completed 91.4% of his passes yesterday. That's the kind of player we need.

Not as bad as it could have been, but the test will be when we concede. -

Frankly, all I want is a committed performance. Don't mind if we lose 0-3 as long as it looks like there's some heart in the squad. January can't come soon enough.
