  1. Mbemba does have a knock. Not at all surprised about yedlin, lazaar and Atsu not playing yet but Gamez not even getting on the bench at this stage is starting to become strange.
  2. No coverage at all. Doubt there will be many midweek games with TV coverage. Especially on European weeks.
  3. I just think 6 wins in a row is very difficult for any team in any division regardless of the opposition. I'd happily take the point.
  4. Jennings might have picked a canny time to carry his bat for 201. Top scorer in division one by a mile with 7 centuries, including 2 double centuries. Should be in contention.
  5. You have to wonder if the guy who made it has ever actually seen Shearer.
  6. The 'bloke' was gone ages ago. RIP to the lass.
  7. I quite enjoyed Bone Tomahawk but yes it's very slow moving.
  8. Well we beat them twice so if those were the only games of ours he watched that maybe explains that nonsense.
  9. As long as it's us I don't really care about anyone else. Although seeing Villa fail would give me pleasure too and seeing a surprise smaller club go up with us would be nice to see.
  10. If Lazaar isn't miles better than Dummett then he's a horrible signing. With regards to Atsu, the wings is the position where we've got the least options. Gouffran has surprised everyone the last few games but if that doesn't continue Atsu is the only real option. But Rafa clearly is a fairly conservative manger so I don't think we're likely to see two attacking wingers and two attacking fullbacks away from home very often.
  11. Possibly but Burnley were in a very shakey financial position at the start of last season iirc. I don't think you would see them going out and spending like us or Villa. Their board are very conservative too. They've spent next to nothing the last two times they've been promoted. Either way, it's obvious if you miss out on getting promoted first time these days, it becomes a lot more difficult next time around.
  12. Aye I thought that's a risky decision for him. His position hasn't exactly been cemented in the test team so if someone comes in and does well then he could have fucked himself right up. His high score against Pakistan and Morgan's return to form make the pair of them a bit more secure in the shorter formats. It probably gives the likes of Billings and Ducket a chance to stake a claim.
  13. It's pretty slow paced like Sicario but there's really good performances from Bridges (to be expected), Pine and Foster.
  14. That may depend on who the relegated teams are. If it's the likes of Burnley and Hull, they don't have too many assets they're going to get a lot of money for like we have been able to. They'll be straight onto their parachute payments if they want to spend. Us and Villa are far bigger clubs than them to so financially we're a lot better off anyway. Burnley spend very little last time they came down. Admittedly the size of the new tv deal does change things a bit but I don't think it will too much for teams like that.
  15. Not sure about that. I expect Murphy to be backup but I can't see any of the other three wanting to make the move here unless they were told there's a good chance they will play. I expect Rafa to regularly change things so one way or another they should get plenty of game time. Gouffran and Anita doing well at left wing and rightback might have changed his thinking a little bit, especially away from home where they a both probably going to offer more defensively than Atsu and Yedlin. If Lazaar comes in and plays well though, you have to think he's going to easily take Dummett's place.
  16. I'm certainly not saying Huddersfield are the best team in the division or that they will be where they are come the end of the season. But they beat us and are four points ahead of us. I don't really think you can say we have been comfortably better than them so far. I think even their fans would say we have a better side but they have made a great start. I think Villa look like they have a much better side than last season but they need to get over the hangover and the longer it lasts they more difficult that will be. At the moment they don't look like a threat but I think they have the ability to change that. Should they turn things round and go up, I'd say they're not close to having a competitive premier league though.
  17. Totally agree. Although I think he would have held Murphy, Lazaar & Atsu back anyway after their international duty and I also think he won't be wanting to start the new signings straight away so that they get a chance to get used to the rest of the team.
  18. Aye they need to work out how to make best use of their attackers but they have three strikers who have scored well in this division. They've signed that Aussie from Palace for centre mid. Not sure if he's played yet but he should be a bigger presence for them in the middle in this division.
  19. And fans who don't have children with siblings.
  20. Huddersfield might argue about us being comfortably the best side in the division when they're sitting nicely in first place four points better off than us. Totally agree about RDM though. He did well at Chelsea when he inherited an excellent side and was basically just a caretaker. But hasn't done a lot to suggest he can build his own team or turn a team around.
  21. Phoenix is still working for me, but I rarely use them for live games. Halow, Adrian, Adryan, Zem, NJM and lately Sports Mix has me covered.
  22. I see it looks like Borthwick is going to follow Stoneman to Surrey from Durham. Big blow losing those two but not altogether surprising. At least Stokes has signed a new deal and Wood's return for England makes it more likely he will too (not that either of them play much). The second team have won their league so hopefully there's some players who can step up.
