Hippo Heed appointed Engerland manager
David Kelly replied to Geordie1973's topic in Newcastle Forum
He's managed to get the England job after being fucking shite for years. You can understand why he might think he is bulletproof. -
Fanny frigging, freak felchers v Norwich - Wed 28/09 @ 19:45
David Kelly replied to Happy Face's topic in Newcastle Forum
3-0 to us. I'm going to Spain tomorrow so I'll miss it but my cousin has quite decent record when I've given him my ticket so I'm feeling confident. I don't think they will come and try and play like Huddersfield or Wolves and I think that will play into our hands. -

I think if he was a club manager he could get away with this, but as the international manager he should surely be setting the standard so I don't see how he can continue in the position. I agree it will be far funnier seeing him sacked for something like this than for being the utter fraud of a manager that he is. Even if it does make it likely that Bruce or Pardew would replace him. -
Film/moving picture show you most recently watched

Hunt For The Wilderpeople. Another gem from the guy that directed What We Do In The Shadows. Sam Neil is excellent but the fat kid is even better. Swiss Army Man. Really weird film with Harry Potter playing a corpse that helps Paul Dano by farting, getting a hard on and spewing water. I quite enjoyed it. Caberet. I'd never seen it before and thought it might be a musical that could be more to my tastes. It wasn't really. A Flock Of Dudes. I don't really know why I watched a film with a title as bad as this but it was ok. Pretty lightweight comedy about a guy who decides to 'divorce' his mates. Bit of an odd, completely pointless, cameo from Ray Liotta at the end of it too. -
When I Think About You, I Touch Matz Sels

I wouldn't write him off at this stage, there must be a reason why he was named best keeper in Belgium for two of the last three seasons. He's had a bad start which has knocked his confidence and I think confidence is a bigger thing for a keeper than any other player. I suspect, once he gets his confidence back he will be a totally different player. But how long do you keep persisting with him until then? Personally I think it's time to play Darlow. Apart from anything else, I don't think it's a good thing to basically say a player won't be dropped regardless of how he plays. We've had enough of that over the past few seasons. And Darlow last season and in the two cup games has showed that he deserves a chance.- 38 replies

The Utter Beige v Colback's Used Nickleback Tampax Suckers
David Kelly replied to sammynb's topic in Newcastle Forum
They're not having the greatest time of it but I still think they have got better players than most of the teams in the league so I don't think a draw away to them is a bad result at all. I'm happy with the way things are going and I think we look well set to go up. I do think we need to play a big man up front though, and preferably alongside Gayle (or Perez). I don't think Diame is particularly suited to playing the role he's been given so far. He's not a forward but he's being asked to play as a second striker it seems. I think if he's moved further back we'd see the best from him. I'm not totally sure where he will fit in further back at the minute mind you. Shelvey and Hayden are both playing well and if we play two strikers we won't be able to play three in midfield, unless we go to wingbacks in a 5-3-2. We potentially have the personnel to play that way with Lazaar and Yedlin, but it would mean leaving Ritchie out and he's probably our best player. -

Not his fault we didn't win the game and him getting abuse on Twitter is fucking ridiculous. But he's showing less and less confidence. In the two games Darlow has played this season he's been far more confident and composed. He deserves to be playing imo.- 38 replies

Canny way for Middlesex to win it. Hat trick and ten for for Roland jones.

It's resulting in quite a funny finale to this innings as Lees has just took two wickets through tossing up piss easy balls to the batsmen. He looks quite embarrassed. Should be an exciting innings for Yorkshire.
-
Crowd don't seem massively happy with what they're doing. I'm sure Somerset are a lot less happy though.
-
Aye that's what would happen with a result. I would like to think that the Middlesex players will want to win for the sport more than the money but you never know. Looks they've come up with a plan to give Middlesex a chance to score runs now. Lythe is chucking them up for them to hit boundaries.

Anderson Paak, Radiohead, Whitney, The Avalanches, Bowie, Isaiah Rashad, The Monkees, Nick Cave, Paul Simon and Underworld are my favourites for the year. There's a few more that I've enjoyed such as PJ Harvey, MItski, Frank Ocean, Angel Olsen and M83 but I've not got round to giving them too much time so far.
-
You'd think Middlesex would have to start trying to smash it shortly and set up a position for a win. It's meandering a bit at the minute though. Surely neither team is going to come off wondering.

Bresnan and Sidebottom have been grinding this out for what seems like an eternity. Bet Frank goes first ball when they come back on. Rushworth has just left Richardson stranded on 99 for Durham against Hampshire. Looks like Hampshire are going to be relying on the Warwickshire/Lancashire result going their way now as I don't look like they're going to have the time to set a score and then bowl Durham out.

Well before my time that unfortunately.

Aye I just looked it up. Couple of Benson & Hedges wins.

The whole transfer seems a lot like my marriage. She thought she could marry me and change me into what she wanted and I went into it thinking she wanted me for what I was. Both relationships were doomed from the start.
-
Didn't realise they've never won it. Thought they did when Botham was there. I've heard the their pitch has been a disgrace this season and is the main reason they're up there. I suppose Middlesex would deserve credit for winning it on Lords pitch that is notoriously difficult to get a result on.

Was a really dull game, particularly the second half but we did what we needed to do. Yedlin was good and I think him and Ritchie can form a really good partnership down the right. Lazaar had a bit of a shocking start. To his credit he pulled himself round but the general feeling was that he didn't really look like a fullback. He's fast and has got very quick feet and he was looking to get forward all the time but he was getting caught out of position a lot. It may be that he was just trying to do too much and once he settles down he'll be fine, but on that performance, you can't see him getting many games at leftback away from home. I thought Murphy did pretty much what you'd want him to. He won and held most balls up that were played his way. I still think we should be playing two strikers though to get the best out of all four of them. Diame isn't suited to be playing as far forward as he is. He should be playing deeper so he can make runs from deeper. Darlow continues to look far more assured than Sels.

What should the next match thread call NUFC?
David Kelly replied to Happy Face's topic in Newcastle Forum
Howay man, kids could be reading this. -
NJM and Money Sports seem to be the best at the moment for me for matches. Generally for sport channels I use Zem. Adryan, Adrian, Halow and Phoenix are also useful. Sports Mix seems to come and go but when it's working it's usually stable and good quality.

I think there's a lad at Somerset that was talked about as a possible spin option also (I'm thinking Leech but that might be wrong). There's also a couple of young ones like Mason Crane coming through. I don't really see the point in Batty though other than if one of Ali or Rashid pick's up an injury, they want someone with experience coming in. Seems strange that Dawson hasn't been included though since he seemed to be the next in line this summer.

Not sure if there is a tour as such but there is definitely some training in Dubai that Jennings has been called up for. The two Coughlin's have been called up for training too. The younger one for the young Lions and the older one for the fast bowing training.
