The OFFICIAL Transfer Rumours Thread
David Kelly replied to Anorthernsoul's topic in Newcastle Forum
Sterry and Cameron both went out on loan today. Apparently that dong that the mackems are after is one of the most highly rated young players in France. Never heard of him but I've stopped paying what little attention I was to French football now. -
They've had a great start but they're one of the favourites for relegation. Obviously Leicester showed last season that anything can happen, but I'd expect them to fall away pretty quickly. Think this is a great move for him tbh.

Moussa Sissoko signs for Spurs for like £30m or WatEVA

Aye, I've no confidence in Penfolds's ability to play hardball. Personally for anything less than £25m I'd make him rot here.- 1745 replies

The OFFICIAL Transfer Rumours Thread

The fact that he seems to have done fuck all for a few years is the only thing that bothers me about signing him. If we're signing him in addition to Atsu when we already have Ritchie, then I'm not at all concerned by it. We've been really lacking in wingers for years (when was the last time we had two good wide players?) so if we end the window having Ritchie, Atsu, McManaman and Aarons then I don't see any reason to be upset. -
I've always felt that you need to have more ability if you're small than you do if you're bigger. I think this why most of the average players have more size about them. Clearly if you have the talent it doesn't matter if you're big or small. Many players over the years have proved that. None more so than Messi. I don't know whether Armstrong has the ability or not. I know he scored some very good goals for Coventry in league one last season so I'm confident there's some sort of player there. Until he gets a chance higher up the league we're never going to know how good he can be. There's some talk today about him going to Rotherham on loan and that sounds ideal to me. If he can do well there I'll be more confident we can have a good player on our hands.

He's certainly the best winger we've been linked to recently. I think it looks a cert that it will be Atsu and probably Mcmanaman too though. -
I wasn't massively keen on the ending but I still thoroughly enjoyed the series. I thought his adapting to life behind bars was one of the best bits actually. Although I'm still not really sure about Omar's motivations. I'm on to Gamorra now which is brilliant so far. Slightly spoiled it for myself by having the link on kodi for episode 1 bring up episode 11 instead, but I'm still loving it.

Last thing I saw him in was Will and Grace and he didn't look particularly well then. Was surprised to hear he was only 83 as he looked older, but then again he never looked particularly young. Love Willy Wonka, Young Frankenstein and See No Evil. RIP

Can't say I'm thrilled by Murphy. He's always looked a donkey to me but I suppose he's got a decent record at this level. Clearly Gayle and Mitro are our first choice strikers so it was never going to be likely that we'd be able to bring someone like Dorst in. And I can't imagine there's any other teams in this league who have a player with as good a record as him as their backup. I had hoped we might be able to get someone like Lambert but I suppose not. With regards to Atsu, I don't think any of us can have seen much of him play as he's not played much apart from at Vitesse. That is a concern but he's been a regular for Ghana and you would have to think he wouldn't have ended up at Chelsea without having potential. I think I was a bit more excited by the prospect of signing a player with a broken leg though. -

I didn't really get far with Electra. I didn't have anything particularly against The Punisher, I just wasn't as into the story as I was with Fisk. -

It was the punisher bits that I found quite dull tbh. I'm sure I'll get back to it but I'm enjoying Gomorra much more at the moment. -

If we do go up, I'm not so sure the squad as it currently is has enough quality for the premier league. We didn't spend much when we were promoted last time (from memory) and we were pretty comfortable. I don't think it would be the same this time. -
It's just the last couple of pages that have turned into the bizarro Kodi thread.

I got a bit bored of Daredevil in the second season. Only managed about four episodes after enjoying the first. It's put Jessica Jones further down my list of shows to watch. Watched Timecrimes the other night. Canny film with a lot of similarities to Primer I thought. Watched a film called Edmond last night with William H Macey in. Very weird. -
What has this board become when CT is giving out technical advice You lot need to have a word with yourselves.

Looks an upgrade on Dummett but you could have probably put a video of yourself up and looked better than Dummett. -
CT is right that the first half was pretty grim. We were slow and lacking in any real drive. I did think you could see the difference Mitro will make though as we had the option of playing balls into him to hold up. Unfortunately the delivery into him was severely lacking in quality. Perez was utterly hopeless until he got his bang on the ear and scored with his next (immaculate) touch. That goal massively changed things. As I've thought for a while, our confidence is very brittle after pardew, carver and the wally, and we needed the goal to boost us. The second half was much better with a quicker tempo and numerous very good chances. Shelvey and Diame (until he ran out of steam) were much more involved and Jesus and Sterry pushed further up the field and contributed more going forward. Gamez performance would be best described as composed. He clearly looked several classes above the opposition and a certain other leftback that was on the bench. It should have been five by the end and for confidence I would have really liked to see us grab a couple more. But a comfortable win and another clean sheet with some players getting some much needed game time is nothing to be sniffed at. Just a shame about the injuries. Doesn't sound like the head wounds are much of a problem but Aarons looked distraught so I wouldn't expect to see him any time soon. Which raises questions about signing another injured winger.

Apparently Mbabu is heading back to Switzerland on loan. I'd have preferred to see him get some experience at this level but I suppose it's difficult loaning out players to Championship rivals. I think Armstrong is going to have the same problem.
