  1. Williamson is as good a million pound as we've spent in a long while. Not a great player by any means but he comes in and does a job and rarely let's us down. Colo definitely helps him though.
  2. Still not convinced with Sammi tbh. He looks like he wants to get involved, run around a lot and try to take the opposition on (which gives him one up over Obertan like) but he's produced very little so far.
  3. You ever meet her dad? ) Hughesy?
  4. I agree booing him or cheering him off is totally unhelpful but i can see why it's happening. For the good of the team and the lad Pardew needs to take him out of the team. He's being hung out to dry really when he needs to be given a chance to come off the bench and make an impact and get the fans back onside.
  5. The thing is (and I'm not alone in this as I've spoke to a lot of people who agree) I'm yet to see this supposed pace. If he has it he never uses it. He's too fucking gutless. He gets the ball and immediately looks for someone to offload it to. Now this is bad enough if you're playing in the centre but you need your wingers to actually have a go at the defence. They either need to beat the fullback or get a yard of space and put a ball in a la Nobby or Beckham. Squidward does neither. He just runs up to the fullback and turns back. He's a fucking waste of a shirt and a liability every time he plays. Playing him and best is like playing with nine men.
  6. The goal was fucking amazing. Probably not seen anything like it since Pedro or Gazza. Lit up what was otherwise a fucking awful game and pretty pitiful performance against Blackburn reserves. He needs to start against QPR on the wing which unfortunately means we'll have to stick with Best and Shola up front but that's all we have until Ba (assuming he isn't sold first) is back.
  7. Is this a piss take? Last season Ricky was arguably our best player. As he was the season before and as he was in at least the second half of the relegation season. His first season he had a few wobbles but even then he had a lot of bright points. This whole myth about him being shite when he first arrived is comical tbh. With regards to Santon, he's impressing more and more but I agree that he'll be more effective at rightback. He certainly looked that way against Blackburn. It was an exaggeration for effect tbh. His first season he wasn't up to anything is my real point, 'a few wobbles' is being overly generous. He ended up a great player for us (two absolute stand out seasons) and then he went which was a massive blow, but you're still talking about someone who went at least a year before he proved worth buying. It didnt really matter because we were shit and had been for ages and ended up relegated, but for a team with any upwardly mobile ambition (as we purport to have now) you can't afford a player to be sub-standard for a year. See the stick Obertan is getting for evidence of that.Equally Enrique would have been slated for his first season out of Spain if it'd have been at Liverpool. It didn't really matter for us because we were gash anyway and on the slide. So going back to my point, Santon has looked decent enough already, which is important given the basic trajectory of the team. You can't compare Rickys first season to Obertan. I can't be arsed to look back to then but I'm sure there was a lot of positive comments about him whereas there has been a slating for Obertan across the board. Yes you can say Ricky came into a team doing shit and Obertan has come into a team doing well but really there's no comparisson in their performances. I'd actually say santon and ricky are quite similar in their starts.

  9. Aye, what was his crack? I just thought that was why we brought Perch, Best and Squidward on. You know just to say we can piss on you even when we have this shite on the pitch. Was that not why he did it like?
  10. Brilliant game and result last night. Loved seeing Pardew take the piss out of Fergusson at the end
  11. Spot on there. We didnt make it anywhere near difficult enough for them. No corners at all. Not surprising though considering fucking squidward won't even attempt to beat his man. Sameobi did more in five minutes than he dud the whole game!
  12. I don't really see how Ben Arfa could leave us any shorter at the back as long as he's replacing either squidward or vuckic as neither of them are really contributing at all.
  13. Obertan has been shite yet again. He offers nothing going forward or defensively. Jonas has been equally ineffective going forward but at least he puts a shift in. And has anyone actually ever seen this pace of squidwards? To me he just strolls along whatever the situation! Harris has hardly been in the game but in the position he's playing it can be very difficult to make an impact, especially at such an age. I think we need to make a change to occupy them further up the pitch otherwise it will be backs to the wall for the rest of the game and I can't see any chance of us holding out.
  14. Prefer to look at it like we have: Best - Average, has looked better when he is the main man though (Carroll being sold, Ba's slow start) Ameobi - Average, can produce at times though. Ben Arfa - Whole load of talent but can give it away a lot but players like that will and it's worth the bit of magic when it does come off. Vuckic - Cracking eye for goal if not very raw. Sammy Ameobi - Unpredictable. Lovenkrands - Capable of being in the right place at the right time Don't think Ranger will be back before Ba anyway. I think I read Ba is only liking to be missing for 4 games anyway. But yeah it's a massive failure for at least 3 transfer windows now. Pathetic that we have obviously put all our efforts into one player with absolutely no back up plan. Even if they are (they will be) being tight twats there must be forwards out there who are out of contract in the summer so will be available for a knock down price, or others have mentioned a loan would do but Ashley with his inability to tell the difference thinks a loan is like renting a house so a waste of money Actually it's more like; Best - Shite Shola - Usually shite due to the fact he doesn't bother his arse. Unlike Best though he does have ability but only uses it twice a year. Ben Arfa - Has been trying too hard since he's come back from injury which has led to him not doing the simple things. Can't see him ever being prolific in any case. Vuckic - Not a striker is he? Sameobi - As above Lovenkrands - Has lost his pace which was his only real asset and now the premiership is too much for him (possibly always was).
  15. Obertan may have only played a small number of games overall but he's doing nothing to justify his place. He looks awful. He may get better but sticking with him at the moment when the crowd are reacting the way they are to him won't help him at all. The reaction is certainly unhelpful but its there now so it's better to deal with it and give someone who might possibly do something positive for the team a go.
  16. There wasn't a lot of booing that I heard other than for the referee. The team have been collectively poor for these last two games and haven't seemed to make the same effort as previously so I was expecting to hear a fair bit booing tbh. The cheering for Obertan going off (and it was for that rather than Ben Arfa coming on) certainly isn't helping anyone but Pardew has created this situation himself by persisting with a player who offers fuck all and looks scared to take on his man all the time. For his own sake as well as the teams he needs to be dropped now.
  17. with the shite display he's had last two matches maybe we'll get to keep him. Similarities to Rickys last few games for us?
  18. He set up Ba's second goal. He'll get the assist, but he played it 2 yards behind Ba, that goal was all about ba who controlled and laid it off, then reacted fastest to the loose ball. It was played into space to be fair though which was much more than best managed. All of Bests passes were in space. It was just space next to their players! Mind you I think most of his 'passes' were actually failed attempts to control the ball!
  19. I don't. His passing was awful and he got caught on the ball too much. Our wank second striker and right winger's piss poor movement may have something to do with that but I really don't think his head was right. That might be because he's leaving or it just might be an off game but I don't really think you can blame it on Cabaye not being there. Players have to be able to play with other players than their first choice partner every game. Most decent teams these days change their line ups far more than we have been.
  20. Vuckic didn't get on the ball enough but nearly scored the best hattrick ever. BEST AND OBERTAN ARE SHITE!
  21. How anyone can even debate who would be the biggest loss to us is completely beyond me. Colo is leading our defence and making Taylor look better than he's ever looked and even making Perch look half like a footballer. Over the last three seasons he's just got better and better and losing him from the team would turn what has been the strongest defence in my memory into just another weak defence that we've seen time and time again. Yes those other three players are top quality and they will all be a miss when they go but Colo is the only one who would that would not only leave the gap of the player himself but also destroy his section of the team.
