  1. Great win today against those bin dipping cunts. I thought Perch was brilliant and Williamson got better and better throughout the game. My only complaint was that we didn't get the ball to Ben Arfa enough as whenever he got it he was making things happen. I think he only got the ball three times in the second half and each time he worked the ball into the box and one of those times led to the second goal. We need to make more use of him as he's going to create loads for us if we do.
  2. This is key. When was the last time we had three players seeming capable of scoring so regularly. You could possibly say Caroll and Nolan were a dual threat but you certainly have to go back to Sir Bobby's reign to have three.
  3. If Colo is going to be out for four games both Perch and Williams are going to have step up big style. Personally I think it's going to cost us big style. If we win on Sunday we'd be eleven points clear in sixth with seven games left which would be a fantastic position but with those two in the centre I think we'll struggle.
  4. A combination of Pardews poor recent tactics and Ba playing deeper (which seems to be his preference) is resulting in him not scoring at the minute. I don't think he's gone off the boil though. Still looks as good to me.
  5. Pardew needs to sort out his tactics like. He got lucky yesterday that moving three players around didn't bite us in the arse. It made no sense at all to do what he did, it left us unbalanced on the left and bereft of any creativity in midfield. But in countless other games since Christmas it's now cost us points. The high line against Fulham in the second half, playing Ryan Taylor right wing at home against inferior teams like Wolves and the scum, making a substitution while we were defending a set piece against Wolves, playing Obertan god knows where against Arsenal! He's got a lot more wrong than right ever since the Manure game and unless he sorts it out soon I think we're going to have a big struggle to stay as high as we are now come the end of the season!
  6. Fucking hell, truly horrible to see that. Hope he pulls through. Fair play to the cockneys who seemed very respectful straight away. I must say mind, I hope none of his friends or family were watching that commentator going on about the other players he'd seen similar things happen to and had died. Yes we're all thinking about Foe and O'Donnell but he really didn't need to say it. Thankfully Barnes tried to be a bit positive saying there's probably plenty of other cases that have ended positively.
  7. Stunning turn of events there!
  8. Nice little boost ahead of tomorrow. Unbelievably the club seems to be doing most things right (stadium name changes aside) at the moment.
  9. Looking forward to having no work on Monday as I'll be well pissed whatever the result (ie no matter how many we beat them by).
  10. I didn't even think they were owt special last night. We were just that inept! The positive is that we played like that against a team that we wouldn't be expecting to get a win against anyway.
  11. Total cunt. Should face further action for that for my mobey.
  12. Ricky would get straight back into the team and allow santon to move to rightback in place of Simpson. Barton or Milner would both improve our right flank as neither Squidward or Ben Arfa have performed so far. Bassong would be better than Williamson but I'm not sure I would have him over Taylor. I never rated duff so I'd have no interest in having him back but Nzogbia would at least provide an option. I know we're all excited about cisse but at this stage I can't believe anyone wouldn't welcome back Carroll when we know exactly what he can give to the team. Players such as Beye and Given may have been better than what we have in the past but they've declined so now they wouldnt get a game. The point of the thread is clearly to try and show that we are now better off with the players we currently have, and it can certainly be argued that in general this is the case. But if you're trying to suggest that this has been intentionally done it's a nonsense tbh. Most of the players that have gone have left not because we decided it was best to let them go so that we could move the team forward (you could argue this could be the case with Nolan or possibly even Carroll) but either because of our relegation or because they weren't happy with what the new regime have been doing with the club. You can credit the choice of players that have came in to replace those who have left but I don't think you can credit the reasons behind it.
  13. We beat Manure with Cabaye and Tiote playing. Any team in the league would badly miss two players of that quality against any team let alone away to the third team in the country! I think we have enough up top to worry them and grab a goal but I think we'll just get overrun in midfield and it'll end up a similar result to the Liverpool game for us.
  14. It's great watching away games with the realistic hope that we'll get a result (the promotion season aside we've not had that in years) as well as not seeing us drop stupid points at home on a regular basis against inferior teams. The work ethic the team has goes a long way to explaining why this is the case and I think both Pardew and Hughton deserve credit for that.
  15. Aye obviously I don't want any of players injured as that clearly weakens us. But I want Best to be a million miles away from the team so that him being unavailable doesn't matter to us in the least. As long as the two Dembas are fit then he shouldn't get a game anyway but personally I would be looking to use Ben Arfa and Shola ahead of him an probably Lovenkrands also. Although I don't think there's a lot between Best (little skill, no anticipation, brain dead), Shola (lazy as a fuck, half asleep, one paced) and Lovenkrands (past it, slow, weak) and if we are relying on any of them we will be very weak. I'd like to see all three of them shipped out in the summer with some better back up brought in to replace them (I can't believe this would be that much of a challenge!).
  16. His goal scoring ratios only marginally better than sholas btw and most of his goals have been scored in the lower leagues.
  17. Moronic that our own fans can't see that more often than not his performances actually work against us than for us. The more he plays the worse it is for is simple as. If we lose either of the dembas we're fucked because we have no quality in reserve, that doesn't change whether Best is injured or plays tbh. My sarcastic 'yay' was because I think he's shite. I could have just as easily said the same for Shola (I prefer him slightly but it's just degrees of shit) because I'm a happier man when both of them are out of the team.
  18. Best has only ever scored in seven of the forty odd games he's played for us btw. For me that's not even good enough for back up!
  19. But he's been shite in most games he's played (the last three for a start). Sholas no better, I'm not trying to say he is. The sooner we get shot of both of them the better, theyre both gash.
  20. Best is no better than Lovenkrands for me. Theyre both championship players. If the dembas get injured wer're fucked with any of best, Shola or Lovenkrands as replacements because they're all shite.
  21. Yay because he's fucking hopeless and I'd prefer to see him no where near the team again. Admittedly Shola is equally as inept but at least when he gets taken our of the team it seems to make him buck his ideas up so his next few games are half decent. Best is always simply shite. Let's just hope the dembas stay healthy til the end of the season and we never have to see either of them again!
  22. Until the second goal i thort he offered nothing going forward. Put in his usual excellent shift though.
  23. Btw their fans were a disgrace when Raylor was taken off. He got wiped out by warnock who clearly should have been sent off (no doubt nothing will be done because that was a challenge that could actually break someones leg rather than a petulant little tap) and not one if them applaud him off despite his obvious pain, rather they have a go at him! Utter cunts. Oh and merson, fuck off you mug. Big club my arse!!
