  1. £15m would be a joke but not unexpected. Personally I hate Charlie boy. He's an absolute twat and would rather him not here.

  3. For me we've seen players like ferguson come and go without ever making an impact (Alan O'Brien anyone?). Time will tell but personally I don't have much expectation. Back on Jonas, he's the only player we have who can take on his man and get at the opposition. He may not score or directly assist as many as we'd want but without his play I guarantee you we'd have scored a lot less.
  4. As Ugly Mackems suggested earlier, Jonas wont be that great a miss. Has put a few good performances of late, but overall has disappointed and failed to deliver time and time again. I hope we start next year with wing men who have the ability to get crosses straight in rather than fanny'ing around on the wing. Admittedly Jonas delivery regularly disappoints but you are missing the other aspects of his game (something that most people who don't get to the games often do) such as those Barney mentions. I'm not suggesting hes world class or anything but you're living in a fantasy land if you think Lualua or Ferguson (two players who as yet have never started a premiership game in that position or even regularly came off the bench) are going to come in and be better than him. And when was the last time, under the current regime, we sold a player in any position and used the money to bring in a replacement of superior quality?
  5. I find Livefootydoctor is a canny site. It has links to all streams of live matches free. Anything on sky sports or espn is there as well as a shit load of of other matches. Sometimes it goes down which is frustrating but other than that it's got everything you could want.

  7. He's done absolutely nothing for us so far. Don't get me wrong, i'd love nothing more than him to step up and be top player for us. But so far he's not shown he can
  8. It will be interesting to see the reaction of people like Christmas Tree when Jonas does leave and it suddenly becomes obvious that the young players we have like Lua Lua and Ferguson aren't in the same class and all of a sudden we have no one that frightens the opposition and we are all too easily played out of a game. We won't sign a replacement and the squad will be weakened. I have no doubt about that!
  9. He's out of contract in the summer aint he?
  10. More likey outcome will be Lua Lua sold to Brighton.
  11. Judging from the live performance of it, the new Antlers album is very good
  12. Heard this yesterday. Apparently it's true.
  13. Fast and Furious 5. Had no expectations given that the first four were pretty shite but the bird loves them so I played along and quite enjoyed it. Unlike the rest there was something aproaching a plot and it was pretty entertaining.
  14. I don't think theres a chance of three teams finishing on more points than we have now, in fact I think the makems already have enough. The other teams will just keep dropping points to each other.
  15. This TBH. We are desperately short up front. Shola on his day is a useful player but he's never fit and inconsistant as fuck. Lovenkrands is past it at this level. Ranger is still raw and might never make it and we still don't really know where Ben Arfa will fit in. Williamson does ok but we could do with better and Taylor's looked shocking recently. I doubt Routledge will be back also.
  16. Great result and generally a good performance. I though Colo was pretty much immaculate, Tiote looked class, Barton was top class in the first half but faded in the second, Shola showed he is a premiership striker when he tries to be and Jose looked back to being up for it again. On the negative side, Lovenkrands game was all about pace and he's lost that now and is so easily knocked off the ball it's unreal. Guthrie will never be a premiership player as long as I have a hole in my arse. Giggs is what? Forty? And in the last ten minutes showed that he's still got far more of an engine and far more pace than Gutherie will ever have. Honestly, his engine for a young lad is pittiful. He also doesn't want to take any responsibility on the ball at all. Yes if a pass is on he can sometimes use the ball well but he won't hold onto it to try and make something happen. He just gets rid of the ball and passes the problem on to someone else (quite often someone who's in a worse siuation than him!). There was one occassion near the end where there was no obvious pass on so he just knocked a five yard pass to Tiote who had to beat three players just to lay the ball off to a man at the back. I know I'm biased because I think he's gash but really there is a reason for me thinking this and it's because he is! Simpson was a bit concerning in a similar way last night and when I think about it, most of the time. I've been very happy with what he's done this season and I think he's made excellent progress. But he does need to take more responsibility to try and make something happen with the ball. I don't expect him to be at the same level as Jose but I do think he can offer a lot more to his team mates than he does. Overall though I'm more than happy and have no fears about relegation at all now. When you look at the run ins of the bottom teams you just can't see them picking up anywhere near enough points to overtake us (or the Makems tbh) even if we don't win another game (which given we have Blackpool, WBA and Birmingham still play, I'm convinced we will do).
  17. He openly admitted that in his very first comunication to the fans he lied when he said Carroll wouldn't be sold. When he starts off on such a footing how can anyone be expected to believe him? I really don't get how that gets classed as a lie to be honest, if he'd been flogged for £10 million fair enough, but £35 Million I'd have changed my mind (and did) about wanting to keep him at that price (or even £10 mill less truth be told). He said he'd been given the guarantee that Carroll wouldn't be sold at any price. Then he said he'd never been given any such guarantee and he'd just said it to put people off. That's a lie any way you look at it And with regards to changing his mind when the price was set, I don't for a second believe he was even consulted about it. He will have been told simply that the board had decided to take the price and then he may or may not have been told he would get the money to spend. Whether or not it was good money (which of course it was (as long as it's re invested in the playing squad)) is completely irrelevant.

  19. Never been massive on Battles but enjoyed the odd listen. This one seems pretty good but I did enjoy the songs with vocals more than the others.
  20. Yeah that and the Gary Numan one stood out on first listen. I thought the Weeknd album started off well but ended up sounding like some straight forward rnb shit which annoyed me greatly. I've listened to the first three or four tracks off Tomboy and it's looking pretty promising. I think Tomboy is great, really accessible and full of great production. Last Night At the Jetty and Surfer's Hymn are the ones on my playlist. The end of The Weeknd album is not so great but tracks 1 to 7 are all very strong. The RnB revival has been going on a while, i bought my brother that How to Dress Well album from last year for xmas, which is based on degraded samples from cheesy RnB. He didnt think it was any good though I've got that too and I think it's ok but I just thought the Weeknd album started off quite dark and dubstepy but the second hald of the album was just like the cheesy RnB that HTDW took samples off. The song above is really quite good like.

  22. Battles and Art Brut have both leaked now.
  23. I think it's a tough call between Tiote, Barton and Nolan. I think our attack looks completely toothless without Barton but you can't ignore the goals Nolan's scored as well as his influence as captain (I think he might well be the best captain we've had in the last 25 years) even if he sometimes seems to do very little in games. But overall I think you have to go for Tiote. He's been an absolute revelation and I've no doubt at all that we'd be knee deep in the shit without him.
