Jonas has been average so far. Seems to have lost his will to take the man on. And when he passes, he just stands there. Just started to notice this recently. His work rate is no better than others. Defending is shocking, and will give up the chase when backtracking. He's definitely been poor recently and I agree he's not wanting to take men on at the minute. Personally I think his confidence looks shot. I still think we're a far better proposition with him in the team though. So is his work rate poor or no better than anyone else? It's far superior to Routledge for example or if compare him to other wingers we've had such as Robert, Nobby or Ginola he's way better. Tbh this is the first time I've ever heard anyone question his work rate. His delivery certainly but not work rate.

Are you on glue? Nah mate, am just fcking nuts! Clearly

Fucking amazing band and Morrisey's done some brilliant (if less consistent) solo stuff.
-
Why would you sign a player who plays in one position to play in a different position? That makes no sense at all! I agree with Holden that he looks pretty slow too which is the last thing we need with Nolan and Barton being slow as fuck too. Oh and Gutierez's work rate is very good especially for a winger. His defending may be lacking but it's not for lack of willingness to work.

Don't know how anyone can shop in primark. I've got little idea about the quality of the product but the shops fucking horrendous!

Aye the Memoryhouse The Years EP is very good and definitely of a similar style. Yeah the first two are very good also and probably more highly rated, I've probably preferred each one over the last though. Dark Smaland by The Instruments is another similar one that I'd recommend. Never got much press but I prefer it to anything of Beach House tbh.

Don't let them wind you up mate. As you know the likes of TB, mesel and others you know never used to miss ever. We got relegated in 88/89, came bottom was just after we'd sold Gazza, and in the space of 4 year we'd got rid of the three best players in the country, Gazza, Beardsley and Waddle. They all wanted to stay but had to leave because of the lack of ambition and new signings. The first season we were down was 89/90, first season of Quinn and McGhee, and this is honestly this I was only 12 but I remember it vividly, the first game of the season was against Leeds and on the way to the ground there were hundreds of blokes with USFC t shirts on basically outright abusing us for going in. There was an official boycot, and we got so much stick "McKeag lovers". The bloke who sits next to me now he's 47, looks aboot 57 mind, he told me and I can't remember this there were 10,000 people at rallies in Social Clubs all over the city that Leeds game with speeches against Gordon McKeag, he admits though that they were all fucked off when they heard we'd beat Leeds 5-2 (the favourites to go up) and Quinn got 4. So that was the crack. Anyway the average gate wasn't 16,000, was about 23,000, but at the end of the season we lost 0-2 at home to the mackems in the play off semi final, worst night ever honestly I cried all the way home, and to make matters worse the mackems lost the play off final against Swindon, but still went up because of a Swindon betting scam (ironically against the toon). So the next season even your floating voter was fucked off, the boycot was still on, and we were even worse on the pitch, the football that season was THE worst I've seen in my lifetime, me and the lads still went but most other people jacked it and joined the boycott. I tell you how bad it was we lost 3-0 home and away to Notts County, and I remember the crowd cheering our own player Mark Stimson's sending off. The whole point of the boycot was to force McKeag out and get The Magpie Group in, which was obviously headed by Sir John Hall. In the end because of our boycot (the ave gate was 17,000 not 16) Hall got control and we kicked on from there. Anyone who has the audacity to criticise Newcastle fans on this is a fuckin arsehole mate, they were the worst of times, the highlight of going to the match was the hot dog and onions at the end of the game, the odd streaker, and the Indian noise bloke in the East Stand. I'd for forgotten all about him. He just disapeared one seaon! I must be about the same age as you mate and I have to say I can't really remember too much about the protests at all. I remember there was a lot of people stayed away back then and Sack the Board chants were common place but I can't remember too much else. I do remember the Leeds game and how good Quinn and John Gallagher looked (shame he picked up that injury because he looked like he would turn out a star!) but can't remember too much more from them days. Fortunately I was on holiday in Florida when the played the scum so it doesn't stick with me a much. Watching the Boro game on the big screen on the last day of the season sticks with me like. What age are yee like mate? 31-33? The sack the board chants happened even in 88 that's when I really started noticing it. I remember we won 2-1 at Anfield one week, the next we were 0-3 down at home to Coventry at half time, and someone in the Gallowgate started singin sit down sit down to the tune of Play up Pompey, then everyone joined in and next thing you know the entire Gallowgate was sitting down on the terraces, was amazing, you think the amount of pisses people had on them terraces and there's 15,000 sitting down having a sit down protest. Fuck knows what good it was supposed to do, about the same as younguns turning up at 12 on Saturday to sing Ashley is a FC etc.. 34 mate. My memory is shite but sack the board chants just seemed to go on for years to me. It just seemed like the norm then. That Liverpool game was my first ever away game. Wasn't Macfaul sacked after that Coventry game? It's quite ironic that that season was probably the only time I can remember the old board spending any money witth Bessant, Thorne, Hendrie and (the massive success that was) John Robertson all coming in. Aye. See that Liverpool game me granda who died before a was born used to be head signalman at The Toon Central, which meant me nana had 16 free rail journeys anywhere for the rest of her life every year, and she took me to London that day cos the oldies used to be mad for Harrods in them days. Was only about 10, and I remember it cos on the way home all I could think about was how the toon went on at Anfield, and this bloke got on the train at Doncaster with a green paper like wor "Pink"* and I asked him if I could have a read to see what the score was. Looked straight at the back page and there it was LIVERPOOL 1 NEWCASTLE 2, I couldn't fuckin believe it, I screamed the train down and me nana went mental kicking off with me. Liverpool were the best side in the world at the time don't care what no one said, they felt 100 times more invincible than any of them do now. LIVERPOOL 1 NEWCASTLE 2. The thing was being a good catholic boy, I prayed to god that if we were to win, I'd go to church every week, did I fuck go but it was magic that. Especially when you seen what happened Mirandinha kissing his badge in front of The Kop with a late pen. The next game we played West Ham and Colin Suggett was in charge and that was to be me first away game cos me sis had just moved to Uni doon London, she was to meet me and me dad off the train at Kings Cross, but our train turned up 3 hours late was 255 by the time we got to Kings Cross, I cried all the way doon. Good old British Rail. You're reet re them signings, but we sold Gazza for £2m which killed a lot of fans, Goddard for about £500k and Neil McDonald for £600k, and all they did was reinvest that, they didn't spend a penny. Jokers. Aye it was an amazing day like, you're right they were seemingly invincible at the time and from memory (like I say mine is shite like) we totally outplayed them on the day and were thoroughly worthy winners. Properly kicked off after the game in stanley park too. Fuck off knives and bottles all over the place, I was scared for life at the time.

A cynic might point out that the total amount matched the Beardsley fee. I suspected that might be case like.

Good to hear, nowt worse than a "yes boss" assistant. Definitely. Slightly concerning that Pardew thought it was a good idea given the impact Ranger had.

I read maintaining 'continuity' as not spending any money as well like. Aye I thought that too. This was called last week tbh! As an asside, I'm told that Pardew was all set to take Ranger off after Barton scored on Saturday but Stone told him the crowd would go beserk if he did that and suggested Nolan who was blowing out of his arse instead. Supposedly this is straight from Stone.

His save from Torres was a game turner. More of a miss than a save tbh. His save against Arsenal was definitely a match winner though! It could have easily gone through his legs. Any save on a 1-on-1 is good. Agreed Torres shouldn't have given him a chance though. I'm not knocking him, he did well but Torres shoudln't have allowed him a chance. I do worry he doesn't seem to save enough like even though I struggle to fault him for much (other than the first Arsenal cup goal).

The Venky's Group, owners of Blackburn Rovers Football Club, has today confirmed the departure of manager Sam Allardyce and assistant manager Neil McDonald withimmediate effect. First team coaching duties will be taken on by Steve Kean (currently 1st team coach) for the immediate future. We have taken this decision as part of our wider plans and ambitions for the club. We would like to put on record our thanks to Mr Allardyce for his contribution to Blackburn Rovers Football Club. http://www.rovers.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,...2243513,00.html Cheers

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
David Kelly replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
I know what you're getting at but I don't think the two things are mutually exclusive tbf. I don't think anyone's blind to the fact that Ashley is the root cause of all this fucking shit. What Pardew has seemingly done though, and knowingly, is accept a managers position which looks like it is even more marginalised/emasculated than the one that Hughton was occupying previously. And quite wrongly, that was a limited enough role to start with. I don't blame anyone for wanting to work; Pardew's a jobbing manager at the end of the day and I imagine most people on here would rightly take a pretty dim view of anyone telling them they weren't entitled to try and earn a living, but at the same time he has to be completely honest with himself about what he's taken on. Because he's done it with eyes wide open and people will make their own minds up whether that amounts to some small form of complicity in the overall strategy being pursued by Ashley, because obviously it contributes to allowing it to happen. I reiterate though, it doesnt in any way blind me to the fact of what/whom the root cause is. Spot on post this. Ashley is the problem but this cunt is knowingly allowing himself to be part of it. They both deserve our contempt. The worst thing we could do would be to lose focus on fcb but that shouldnt let pardew of the hook either.- 10610 replies

FYP. We've no idea why he appointed Pardoo, have we? Whatever his reason I can't see that it's got anything to do with success on the pitch.- 10610 replies

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
David Kelly replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Having got myself in a more sober and awake state than when I was posting last night, I don't actually blame him for getting Hughton sacked or think that he particularly was conniving with the chuckle brothers about it either. But I do firmly beleive he knows what he's getting himself into, in that he's not here to try and win things or even establish us as premiership club. He's here to do Ashley's bidding and bring through players and sell them on until the fat cunt is satisfied that he's raped us as much he feels necessary. To me Pardew is complicit in Ashley's self serving agenda and as such deserves no chance from us at all. Obviously I'll be happy to be proved wrong but I'm certain I won't be. All three of them deserve nothing but our contempt and that's certainly what they'll be getting from me.- 10610 replies
