  1. A new album would be of interest but Brown's appalling live so a tour wouldn't interest me in the slightest. Their two albums are both outstanding.
  2. Are you smoking crack? Best is gash, never a premiership striker in a million years. The five players mentioned are clearly the best at the club and losing any of them from the team is a massive blow but recently I've felt we missed Barton most as our attack becomes extremely one dimentional without him. Simpsons definitely worth a mention like. He's not close to the others mentioned but I've been really impressed at how well he's upped his game. I think most of us thought he would really struggle but there's not been many occasions (lennons equaliser does stick out as the one) where he's came up short.
  3. Dog Soldiers. First time I've seen it. Good fun 7/10
  4. Was Guthrie actually playing? I know he wasn't his usual fuck up self but does doing nothing at all really constitute a good game for him these days? I can understand why people are calling for Colo to be played in midfield given that Guthrie and Barton with Raylor on the wing is the most likely alternative. But I agree it would be crazy to take him out of the back four.
  5. Thought Jonas was shite for the most part. Played in one decent ball in the first half (and that ended up being to no one although I think that was due to a lack of players running in rather than anything wrong on his part) and was awful in the second til he scored. Shola had a blinder though. Lovenkrands turned out the most important player though with a goal and an assist. Impressive considering he was anonymous for the most part. It has to be said though that gutherie was fucking useless!
  6. Fleet Foxes didn't do a lot for me on first listen but TV On The Radio is very good as is to be expected. Mazes by Moon Duo is very good too.
  7. I quite like his album tbh. Some of it doesn't work though
  8. Nice to see there is hope of some of our ex manager doing something useful! What I've heard so far of the new Dodo's is pretty good. I've always quite liked their sound in the past without really connecting with an album but this one might be the one for me.
  9. Selling Carroll and not replacing him has left us with a strike force that's championship standard at best. We always knew without Carroll we had nothing up front so we knew we needed to add to the squad. But instead we weakened it just so he could top up his bank balance. That's why it's Ashley's fault (to say nothing of all the other shite that's led us to this point). Yes the players were pathetic yesterday, yes the manage was too but ultimately the buck stops with him.
  10. Used to see Clarkey, Steve Watson, Howey, Sellers etc in the town all the time on a Friday night if they were injured back in Keegans day so I don't personally see anything wrong with it. I've got more of a problem with them going to tuptup. The place is fucking wank! Back to yesterday and Pardew is again looking like a shite manager. He should never have risked ricky, he should never have played Campbell (and never should again) and to leave it as long as he did when we went three down to change it was fucking clueless. At best he's no better than Hughton, at worst he's no better than jfk. I don't think we'll go down because it is a very big ask for all of those teams below us to get more points than we do in the run in but we a looking terrible at the minute and we've gone from having a run where we could have been looking at challenging for a European spot (given what's happened in the cups we wouldn't have a had a chance anyway but we could have certainly been right up there) and guaranteeing our safety to putting ourselves right in the shit. As always big thanks to Mike.
  11. The new mountain goats album is rather brilliant
  12. Just watched despicable me and thought it was gash. Really? Watched it again myself yesterday and really enjoyed it again. Thought the minions and the littlest bairn were class. No toy story like of course.
  13. Used to do shindig all the time and rockshots every now and then. Stopped for a few years when the pill hangovers started lasting til a Wednesday and then I had the bairn. Was at shindig at legends on a Friday night about a year and a half ago which was a canny reminder of what used to be. Lately it seems that if I go out early afternoon on a Saturday I struggle to get much past one in the morning before I'm goosed.
  14. Congrats gloomy. Just hope your mrs knows what she's doing, that's what I did!
  15. Unknown. Really enjoyed it actually. Was pretty much exactly what I wanted it to be. Nowt too complicated or ridiculous just an entertaining thriller. Bad Lieutnenant. I can't for the life of me see why Herzog is so highly rated. Admittedly after Fizcaraldo and Nosferatu, this was actually a step forward but yet again I'm just wondering what the praise is for. Cage was really annoying too which tbf is what I've come to expect these days. What happened to him since the likes of Red Rock West, Leaving Las Vegas and Wild At Heart?
  16. Considered one of their best in America I think. Personally I prefer it to Sgt Pepper but it's not as good as Revolver.
  17. Perch is a poor centreback, an awfull rightback and beyond bad at leftback. There's no way I'd let him near the team even at this stage. I take it Kadar is still out? He'd be the ideal to play against Stoke otherwise.
  18. Dorrans wouldn't want to sit on the bench, N'Zogbia will thankfully never return, and I can't understand why you'd want to replace Best instead of Lovenkrands or Ranger. Because he's shit? Admittedly Lovenkrands is now past it but at least there is some potential in Ranger. Mind you, for my money we don't have a striker on the books who's currently premiership standard. Strola does it in patches but he'll never do it consistantly. Unless Ben Arfa's going to play as a striker for us we desperately need two new starting strikers for next season.
  19. Superman and Batman have so much material to mine from the years the comics have been going that it should never be a problem to continue to make films from them. The quality or lack of will just end up coming from the people involved in making the films. So I don't really see them as a comparission to what they're going to try to with Blade Runner. That said, I'm also quite happy to see them create something more from the orginal film and agree that no matter what come from it, it won't take anything away from the original. The first two Terminators and Aliens aren't tarnished by anything that came after them that didn't work as well (personally never thought Terminator 3 or Alien 3/Resurection were that bad anywhere just nowhere near the quality of the first two). It could be brilliant and add something the ledgend or it could be shite that pay no attention too but it's worth looking into.
  20. Pardew's first real test and he's failed it big time for me. Footballs a simple game, just play players in the right position, the last thing you want is to have three players out of position which is what we had between ricky going off and Taylor going off. It just puts you on the back foot right from the start. We would have been far better starting with Guthrie (which shows how fucking short we are) or Lovenkrands on the right. At least that way we could have kept the back four (which has been pretty good all season) unchanged. Added to this (or perhaps because of it) we just didn't look up for the game from the start, and this isn't the first time at home we've started this way! We desperately need Barton back for the next game because without him we are serious short of anyone in midfield who can create anything.
  21. He does the same thing all the time, backs off to the point that you think the attacker could run him right the way back to the goal if he wanted! As a centreback you won't get as exposed as will at fullback where wingers will run at you a lot more. Playing him there potentially cost us the game yesterday.
  22. I fear we are going to see Gutherie on the right (well we won't as he never makes any attempt to play wide when he's supposed to). That coupled with our poor striking options means this has a draw written all over it for me.
  23. The blokes a cunt. I would expect nothing else from him. Like Stevie says, he's properly dropped them in it there like. What a fuckwit!
  24. The Kings Speech. Was ok, well acted but not particularly interesting.
