Before Geremi, Emre, Smith, Martins, Rozenhal, Viduka, Butt? Well Geremi and Emre aren't playing anyway and Butt is pretty effective at what he's supposed to do (playing alongside other defensively minded players doesn't help him). The others could do with being shipped out too (especially Martins who is also gash) but I think more than anything else I am just pissed off that Milner is just as ineffective as the rest of them but seems to somehow avoid critisicsm and even get's talked about for an England call up when it seems blatently obvious to me that the lad has abolutly no quality and if he did have we would have won more games this season.
-
He looks like he has half decent games but he produces nothing. He's our main attacking midfielder and that's why we create fuck all.
-
Surely he should be suspended by the club for this!

I know he is probably more of our fans favourite player at the moment than anyone else (mainly because I think we hate most of the rest of them) but it really is becoming clear to me that he's not anywhere near good enough. Yes he works hard, has a great attitude and seems to be a better pro than most of his team mates who are much older but he has absolutely no quality in his delivery. I'm getting absolutely sick of him just kicking the ball in the general direction of the box as if that makes a good delivery. Somehow he even get's to take set pieces despite virtually everyone hitting the first defender. I know there are probably stronger contenders within our ranks for stick but somehow Milner seems to be spared from any criticism on the basis that his attitude was good when he had his transfer pulled at the last minute last season and it's getting on my nerves now. He would be one of the first players I would replace at the moment.

Best place for the fuckwit tbh.

Good to see Krul looks like he's doing well up there but Caroll seems to have been pretty unsuccessfull at Preston.
-
We could sign John Terry as well and it still wouldn't make any difference to us. When you have an attack as feeble as ours you can't keep the pressure off the defence for five minutes so it's ineviatble that they crumble eventually no matter how good they are. We desperately need some quality in the middle and on the right if we want to start creating some chances for our forwards because playing with two anchor men and a winger with absolutely no quality will get us no where.

Just watching the end of The Hitcher, fucking class! -
Panda Bear and Battles were the best albums of the year by some distance imo. Both outstanding. They weren't in fact but they were both good and Person Pitch in particular is excellent.
-
I fancy The Long Goodbye too. I'm sure it's quite a bit different from the film (which is class) though.
-
Have you actually read any of the Chandler / Marlowe books btw? Well worth checking out. Unfortunately I rarely have the time to read books these days what with the wife and bairn but those books would certainly be high on my list when I get round to it.

Cheers lads, 40 hrs should be just about enough until I can get a new DVD recorder to copy off any stuff I need.
-
This is a very interesting point. I've got nothing against us playing a 4-3-3 but doing it with the wrong players in the wrong positions makes no sense at all. I actually do think we have a number of players who could make the formation work but they aren't playing where the need to. N'Zogbia should be left wing and Milner should be on the right. It's not rocket science but Allardyce seems to be dead against it for some reason.

I'm finally getting the + this week and I'm just wondering if you can copy things you that you have recorded onto a porn drive (and if so how) and how much space is on a standard box. Cheers

I thought it was complete horse shit. I thought I was unhappy with Kill Bill vol 2, but this drags Tarantino down to a Rob Zombie level of uninspired drivell. Inland Empire It is an incredibly dull film, and vacuous to boot. Everyone in Hollywood is a whore wracked with self doubt? You don't say! Is this a revelation that warrants three meandering and incomprehensible hours on the thought process of an actress? But then again it did intrigue me. I did after all sit there for the full 3 hours. And through the entire end credits (which I never do) and then for a little bit longer to think about it some more. And I want to watch it again to see if I can get my head round it, but it's the cinematic equivalent of a Paul Mckenna cd to cure insomnia, so I can't see that happening. Maybe I'm being harsh because I'd just watched Sicko beforehand and that was about a real issue (you know, people whose kids have died and that) wheras this is plainly pretentious guff about people who get paid to play dress-up. This is an unfair comparison as Inland Empire has a sense of humour about it's subject, just not a particularly funny one. I liked the Beck and Nina Simone tunes. And the Locomotion. I've also not seen all of Lynch's other films and there seemed to be a lot of references to the one I have, so maybe you need to be more familiar with his oeuvre (christ I'm more pretentious than Lynch) to 'get it', but even if that is the case, I still think a film should stand on it's own. The really annoying thing is reading back all the reviews by people that love it. I've not seen one be specific about where it's excellence lies. It's all vague gubbins about how brilliant it is that it makes no sense and how labrynthine it is, is that a good thing now? Feeling lost by your story teller? Mind, Laura Dern was good. But she's canny in Jurassic Park too, which was a much more fun experience. I've still got Mullholland Drive there to watch too. Looking forward to that. Mullholland drive is fantastic, one of my favourite films but based on your above review I'm not sure you will like it (although I've not seen Inland Empire yet I suspect there are a lot of similarities to Mullholland Drive and Lost Highway). Death Proof is horse shit but it's meant to be and I thought the action scenes were hillarious. MD is awesome. In many ways better than IE...imo. Cracking isle of lesbos scene too! -

Finally finished Fitzcarraldo and I must I was bored senseless by it. Kinski puts in a good performance but that's about it. -
Thank fuck he's gone. Disgrace of a professional tbh.

I should have said sounds like what we need going off what others have said! -
Can't wait for this. It's the most I've anticipated a new film for a lot of years.

We're crying out for someone who can play a killer ball (when was the last time we looked like splitting a defence?) and while I haven't seen this guy play he seems like exactly the type of player we need. -
It was a very good performance last night after the first 15-20 minutes when we looked shakey as fuck. Yes they were and are far superior technically to us but by showing greater hunger we earned the right to get into some good positions and put them under a lot of pressure. For my money we deserved the win, Given had a lot less to do than Almunia. Obviously the challenge is to keep this going against weaker teams like Birmingham because tbh this should be the way we go out every game. Players tire and there is more addrenalin to keep it up when your playing the likes of Arsenal but if we start a game this way then it puts you on a good footing for the rest of the game and should allow us to use our superior ability than the weaker teams.

I predict he would last about ten games before his head was being called for!
