I notice fatty made sure he got more than Hall per share! Greedy bastard.
-
Believe this when I see it like. Out of interest, how old is he now?
-
Fantastic news this. With fatty's shares out of the way the rest will quickly fall meaning he will hve complete control and hopefully be able to pump some cash in for transfers very soon. Fuck me the first week of June isn't over yet and we're very close to having our new owner installed and four new players on the horizon. And Bramble has gone. It really doesn't get much better than this!
-
I agree they would be ahead of him but he would offer a bit more cover (especially since Duff is likely to be out till November). He plays more as a central midfielder now anyway.

I don't think there's any really outstanding candidates tbh. Taylor shows the passion I would like from a captain but he is far too young and raw, Given has the experience but he's not even the most vocal of keepers and personally I would never have a keeper as captain, Nobby is experienced and has captained his national team if I'm not mistaken but I don't think he's going to be a guaranteed starter this season and I don't think he shows the type of agression we need, Butt is another who is quite a quiet bloke really, Owen as others have said selfish by definition in the role he plays and like a keeper I wouldn't really go with a striker as captain, Barton shows the qualities on the pitch I like to see from a captain but we all know about his mental issues. With the players we have at the minute I would say that the above are the candidates and tbh none of them tick all of the boxes. If I had to choose I think it would be between Barton and Butt and it would probably depend on how Allardyce sees there roles next sesaon.

Buy being the key word there! I don't think that simply because something is free we should neccesarily get it. He's no better and would just be a drain on the wage... so what exactly is the benefit in signing an aging average left winger? Be he free or not I agree we shouldn't be signing someone just because they are free but he is a tidy player who could do a decent job filling in on the wing or in the centre. I wouldn't give him a long term contract or big wages and tbh I wouldn't really care less whether we signed him or not. I just think our squad is so thin we could do with padding it out a bit and unless Ashley gets full control and offers a massive transfer fund we are going to need some free transfers to do that.

To call Zenden hopeless is way off the mark in my book. He might not be going to set the world alight and I wouldn't want to spend much if anything on him but the reality of the situation is we have a paper thin squad and he is someone who could cover a couple of positions and play in a number of formations. He would be a vast improvement on having to call on the likes of O'Brien and Pattison!
-
He's having a medical now apparently. I would think that means he's not bothering to talk to West am.
-
Butt would certainly be in the midfield!

Aye come on Jimbo get your arse into gear!

Tbh I don't see the relevance of his wage. We have to pay that whether he plays or not so we might as well try and find a use for him and if that's at rightback so be it. If we can find a buyer for him then fair enough but I'm not convinced one is forthcoming.

I can see the reasoning behind it tbh especially for England. There is a need to be as attacking as possible against Estonia as they are shite and will keep everyone behind the ball. It was painful on Friday night watching Carragher trying to support Beckham, he's clearly not got that in his game. Dyer should be able to give Beckham support and an option on the overlap, his pace should also help create more space for others in the team and the obvious concern about his defensive weaknesses shouldn't really be at all exposed (especially with the cover Beckham gives). Most really top teams have very attacking fullbacks these days many of whom have been converted from being attackers. Whether or not it could be worked for us, especially against teams with quality on the wing remains to be seen but Nobby has taken to it like a fish to water (admittedly he already had considerably more experience there than Dyer) and that was under Roeder!
-
If only we had a defence and midfield to match that attack we would be looking pretty well set!

Casino Royale - Not bad at all. Didn't feel remotely bond like which is probably the best thing they could do. The romance wasn't at all believable though. -
Unlike Bowyer he's also a player whose game is improving not deteriorating. I do like him as a player, he seems to be the type who will drive his team forward, but we would still be lacking someone with some creativity!

Newcastle to meet Ashley as billionaire buys control

What's the odds on him being in a bed next to Pud and getting an ear bashing from the lanky streak? If he was next to Pud we'd have seen plenty of photos on here by now surely! Photo's of fatty in bed. That thought should see me off food for the next few days -

Breaking news: Viduka signs two year deal
David Kelly replied to ohhh_yeah's topic in Newcastle Forum
Yeah, they really do look in the shit. Viduka was massive for them, and probably helped Yakubu out as a partner and Woodgate could easilly get an injury anytime. And whenever Boateng gets an injury or suspension they tend to collapse! Such a shame, i mean their fans are fantastic and deserve so much better! I really couldn't care less about them except for as you 'their fantastic fans' -
I'd be really fuked off if we lost him to them cockney makems. Don't see them being able to afford his wages like!

Boro are looking in a pretty dodgy situation if you believe what these reports are saying. They're about to lose their best attacker and they've already spent the majority of their transfer budget on a player who is well overdue another injury and was there last season when they were shite anyway. -
I like Parker personally and would say he's our best midfielder. I think he has struggled through Roeder's cluelessness and getting his full fitness back after the hernia operation. I think Allardyce make a strong midfield based around him if we had someone who could do the attacking job in front of him. That said, I think a lot of the crowd have now turned on him and he's become unsettled so a move might well be the best bet if we can get this sort of money and a good replacement.

For this reason I wouldn't fancy going into the season with just him as our main striker but if we keep at least one of Owen and Martins, have Shola and hopefully another we would be looking in pretty good shape. -
I saw him mentioned in the Chronicle last night. I fucking hope not, from what I've seen of him he's a big plank.

Exactly, I would also add that he is a very skillfull player who has the ablility to open up a defence for others. Tbh I would say he's a cheaper alternative to Gudjohnsen.
