  1. The Devils Backbone. Another good film from the director of Pan's Labirynth.
  2. well you have to say they're not exactly going to bother the charts............. Well going off the shite that does bother the charts I'm pretty happy about that. You should try downloading some of them Rob, you might find out that 2007 has actually been a pretty damn good year for music. All of the albums that these songs are off are excellent.
  3. There is only one person who will be given a decent amount of time before the boos start if we aren't Brazil within a month, and that's Shearer. Hopefully he can end up doing a Keegan like job but I dout it. For my part I wish he would just be appointed manager so that we can get it over with it although I don't advocate getting rid of Allardyce at all. Not sure about that, I reckon a fair amount of fans would be just waiting to take shots at Shearer so they could be proved right. I'm sure there would be, but most of the idiots who boo and start calling for the managers head after one poor performance are from the Keegan era on and to them Shearer is god who can do no wrong. He'd probably be able to get us relegated and still have them on his side for a while.
  4. He's clearly made some mistakes particularly in terms of team selections and bumming Smith and Geremi but I do beleive he will get it right although in the next two games it may well get worse before it gets better. We have to get some stability in the club, I admit I was calling for the head of the last two clowns we had in charge but they were clearly awfull appointments from the off. Their records suggested exactly what we were going to get, but SA's record suggests he will get things right. We have to remember that under Robson we had two bottom half of the league finishes before he got it right. Sam isn't going to correct things overnight, there was far too many problems for that, but I do think he will sort us out.

  6. Something like ten from those below; Radiohead - Reckoner LCD Soundsystem - North American Scum Iron & Wine - White Haired Man Andrew Bird - Dark Matter Animal Collective - Peacebone Modest Mouse - Spitting Venom Blonde Redhead - 23 Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Satan Said Dance Patrick Wolf - The Magic Position Grinderman - Go Tell The Women Kevin Drew - TBTF New Pornographers - Myriad Harbour Of Montreal - Heidalsgate
  7. For me he was just pipped by Gerrard as being the worst player on the pitch. The pair of them stood out in a team full of fucking awful performances. I agree with others who have said Crouch and Beckham were the only ones to come out with any credit (possibly Lampard too for showing the bottle to take the pen).
  8. Lacking a grip on reality is another thing all together though!
  9. It's just coming up with burn process failed at 8 x (11,080 KB/s).

    Burning DVDs

I'm having trouble burning some dvd's I've copied on my laptop. I've never had any problems before but I fucked about a bit with the computers settings (not a clue what I did here) and now the dvd's just won't burn (copying is working fine). I've tried using an external dvd drive and the same error messages (in both dvd shrink and nero) still keep coming up. Anyone got any ideas? I tried doing a restore but as far as I can see it will only let me reboot from yesterday. I'm on the mighty vista btw.
  11. It is a canny film that like. The Thom Yorke song at the end seemed to fit nicely in it too.
  12. Are we in a time warp or something? Welcome to August!
  13. A toss up between Hitchcock, Howard Hawks and John Huston for me, with Hitchcock just shading it. The other two (particularly Hawks) mastered a much greater variety of genre's than Hitchcock who's efforts in anything other than thrillers were less sucessfull. But the run of stonewall classics that Hitchcock produced from 1935 to 1963 (39 Steps, The Lady Vanishes, Notorious, Spellbound, Rebecca, North By North West, Strangers On A Train, Vertigo, Rear Window, Psycho, The Birds, Dial M For Murder, Suspicion, The Man Who Knew Too Much) has never been touched and I doubt it ever will.
  14. Heard a rumor that Souness is actually being lined up for the smoggies!
  15. Wenger has winger who favour cutting inside, he does it so they drag the opposition fullbacks in field and his fullbacks can overlap and get in behind their defence. Perhaps he wants to do the same here. I think he was just so bemused by what happened on Saturday he just forgot to tell them to switch back!
  16. Harper Beye, Roz, Faye, Enrique Milner, Geremi, Barton, N'Zogbia Viduka, Owen I like Cacapa a lot but I wouldn't like to test his confidence on Saturday and I think we will need Faye's arial ability against Jones. Smith has done nothing to suggest he deserves a place in the team so the centre of the midfield comes down to a toss up between Geremi, Barton & Emre and I just think Emre gives us less physically against a team which basically only has physical players. Owen is still a much better player than Martins if we can provide something approaching service to him, but we also need someone for him to play off so if he's fit Viduka is the obvious choice. We're a much better team than those clowns but I must admit I'm really shitting myself about Saturday. I always feel like this like but after our last two performances it's much worse.
  17. What was really worrying about Saturday is how we completely fell apart in every department after the opening goal. It was a freak strike that no keeper would have stopped but our reaction was terrible. The players heads were all over the place and Allardyce didn't seem to have a clue what to do tbh. Keeping N'Zogbia and Milner on the wrong sides, keeping Smith on (when he was shite before his booking and much worse when on the verge of a red), bringing on Martins in place of Enrique and bringing off Milner when he had finially started to do something (he had admittedly been shite most of the game), all of this was more like something we would have expected from Souness or Roeder. I never expected SA to immediately return us to what were under Robson but I never thought I would see one of his teams looking so unorganised or gutless. I'm in no way suggesting we should be changing the management but there is clearly a long way to go before we can expect to see a good team.
  18. The fickle nature of our fans is becoming worse and worse. I used to think it was a myth put about by the southern press but with the way many of our fans have reacted to this and the Reading game it clearly isn't. Cacapa is a quality player and despite his nightmare on Saturday I still believe he's the best defender we have. That said, I'm not sure I would risk his confidence against the scum on Saturday.
  19. I agree, you've gotta be twisted to enjoy that one. I didn't think much of ACO either but Kubrick's films have grown on me a lot recently (especially 2001 & The Shining) so I might need to reevaluate it.
  20. Zodiac. Didn't think it really matched up to Fincher's best work but it's still good. I wondered how how they would make it work since that killer was never found but the way it ends up, with them basically telling you who the police thought it was but without really going for that as being definitive, was well done. The Thin Man. Brilliant comedy/noir with a permanently pissed hero. The type of thing they just don't make any more.
  21. It's not too bad but it has dropped a lot from when I first bought it. This might be an option but is it available outside the US?
  22. Mine did the same last week. No problem adding stuff once restored though, I'm up to 19Gig so far. The second generation one(s) I had were a nightmare. Sent two back to apple and they send you another reconditioned one before they even look at yours. Excellent customer service. Just register at apple.com and tell them about it, they'll send you a pre-paid box to send it back to them. Even if it's miles out of the warranty? Ah, well, I'm not sure about that. You not got new for old insurance? House insurance you mean? I think wor lass skimped on that so I think I might still be fucked. It sounds like the hard drive is fucked and there's not much can be done if that's the case and you haven't got extended warranty already - it would probably be cheaper just to get a new iPod (and yes, I know you specifically stated that wasn't an option you wanted to entertain) Yeah, tbh I expected that was the case (although I have ran I diagnostic on the hard drive in the past and it came back ok) and I'm going to Florida in May when I was planning on getting a new one. But I was hoping for a short term solution if nothing else.
