  1. Sounds to me that he was a bit naive in buying the club, its only just occured to him how expensive it is to run a club of our size and stature. He obviously is tight with his cash, thus being why he's been successfull and now he's haveing to outlay some hard cash he doesnt like it. Hardly fills me with confidence that we've only signed one player on a free and seem dorment in the transfer market......something strange about this situation.
  2. Still a good age and has quality in abundance, for that price we should be in the hunt and his wages arent over the top neither when you think that sidwell is asking for the saem amount! Also mite help Gutierrez settle and vice versa......
  3. Well green i know mate but they are good mates and do a stirling job for u21's obviously you want an experienced centre half in themix to but theres a distinct lack of quality out there.
  4. We all look forward to the new season with great anticipation, reading the newspapers, browsing the websites, watching skysports news just to get an idea of what players are going where and who we are in the hunt for. Keeping a close eyes on our competitors and druelling with the prospect of a prosperous season. We have had a few dire seasons lately, maybe we've been over expectant, a little impatient or downright delusional, but after last season which in many way's was a season of massive upheavel, transition and underachievment i genuinly feel we can look forward to next season with great positivity. We have a decent squad, a young squad, we have an ambitous manager and with the support from the owner we can mount a challenge on top six and look forward to europe again in the forseeable future. After all we ARE the biggest club outside the top four. We all were dissapointed on missing out on modric but the lure of london lights is nothing to be disheartened by. We have a great stadium, great fans and when we hit the bigtime again there will be no better to be. I look forward to this season and my vision is this: Finish in top 6 Turn St James into a fortress again....win 80% home games 15 out of 19 = 45 Points Become hard to beat away from home Groom and develope youth players with 1st team football (Tozer, LuaLua, Kadar,Carrol) Re-claim the entertainers tag we once prided ourselves with In... Jonas Gutierrez Eren Derdiyok Pablo Aimar Anton Ferdinand Per Cjin Skjelbred Line ups. Given Beye Taylor Ferdinand Enrique Jonas Barton Aimar N'Zobgia Owen Martins Given Beye Taylor Ferdinand Enrique Jonas Aimar N'Zogbia Owen Derdiyok Martins Use Tozer as backup LB, Kadar and Faye as backup for CB, Butt used in tough away games, Skjelbred eased in, Duff as backup LW, Milner backup RW, Derdiyok eased in, Smith,Viduka and Carrol as backup FWD Pretty rosy i think!!
  5. haha theres a few photoshop whizz's on here ay! Do you guys see this baheng featuring this season?
  6. And who would that that be? Justin lee collins??? hahaha
  7. ah, that's put me right in my place then to be fair we've seen no evidence at Newcastle that he's a good player, but plenty of evidence of his off-field shenanigans, I'm all for the lad getting help. But I don't really think it's in the clubs best interest to retain his services and the club comes first. Thats like a car dealership findin one of his cars's wheels have fallen of and saying "Ah its not my best car so we'll just scrap it, not worth the bother" wheres the sence i that? see in my head it's like the car dealership finding their mid-range car has a bowl of spaghetti for an engine, and Edam for wheels. It's not going to be a problem that will go away. It's not like he's broken his foot, he's broken the law. Not for the first time either. He has anger management issues which are not being resolved, he's had chance after chance and is spurning them... on and off the pitch. I'm not saying pack him off now, but I don't see him at the club long term. Fair enough mate, i just think we can sort him out and get the best out of him. After all he must sit down at night and think "what the fuck have i done"

But yes i see your point but in the clubs best interests wouldnt they want to help sort him out whe he is a 5mil pound asset?? Thats like a car dealership findin one of his cars's wheels have fallen of and saying "Ah its not my best car so we'll just scrap it, not worth the bother" wheres the sence i that?
  9. What a spastic. Come on, that phrase being used as an unsult is totally unacceptable. Always has been too, not just modern day political correctness. I agree with you mate. It's a great sounding word but totally unacceptable. A lad I knew at school came into registration one morning and proudly announced: "My dad says he has to call me a Scope now!". haha Funny but lame
  10. What a spastic. Come on, that phrase being used as an unsult is totally unacceptable. Always has been too, not just modern day political correctness. Pretty harsh imo i actually seen some sort of resemblence
  11. Do you drive a corsa perchance? Dont patronise me or try to be condesending mate....i just believe in helpin people through there minefields. This boy needs help and he's a good player......and no i dont have a corsa mate......focus ST actually
  12. What abunch of overreacting exagerating idiots! He is a good player and yes he is a fool and done stupid things but jesus we've all made mistakes, we've all worked with someone we dont get on, we've all had a fracas on a night out! The fact he's a footballer and the media hate us makes this into a massive deal, and it doesnt help we theres a section of our fans who are complete pricks and think they've never done wrong in there lives. Dont you for one second think that the boy has issues, and its good to see the club have realised this and are helping him get over them. But for as long as theres the minority, shoot him, hang him, let him rot brigade out there the boys never gonna get a break! Give him a chance to right his wrongs im sure he will......
  13. Well im supsrised spurs are letting him go, must only presume berbatov is going now where? Id certainly have defoe here, he is a natural finisher and i rate him alot, but do you honestly think we have the cash to buy him? 10-12 mil i reckon?? then were on about diarra 5-6 mil, then wes brown 4-5 mil?? For i think ashley needs to back BSA fully with that sort of money i just dont think he will......swings and roundabouts
  14. I presume alot of you havnt seen much of him then? He is actually quite skillful and can strike a ball sweetly, he's just your typical box to box engine room man! I dont know who said it but yeah diarra arshavin and defoe or ashton please! cant find much else on youtube im affraid
  15. nah its not good but i just think theres more to come from smudger
  16. you see, the problem I have with that argument is why would better players come to Newcastle while we are playing Bolton-type football? Even if Sam achieved success that way, the whole team would have to be re-built to compete at a higher level. good point mate
  17. Well in my eyes theres no debate! He is a good player and should not be subjected to the shit some do on here! As a manc what was your impression of him? Scored a few beltin goals for yas! He's playing out of position, which is Allardyce's fault. Unfortunately, he seems to have been bought because he's 'versatile'. When I say that I mean that SAF tried him there once or twice so that means he must be. That's bollocks, he always looks like a striker playing in midfield and the fact he's almost got more cards to his name than Hallmark is indicative of that. When he plays upfront he always looks busy, quite Sheareresque in a way barring his finishing. Problem is Viduka, Owen and Martins are all going to be ahead of him in the pecking order so he'll rarely get a run out there. Shame because i think you play, smith and oba or smith and owen you'd get a good partnership. Instead we get to watch an imobile fat useless ozzie instead!! So basically you think Smith should be first choice striker? Viduka may be useless but he actually puts the ball in the net. Something Smith hasn't done in the PL for over 2 years is it now? To be fair on the lad he was out injured for one of those years, but regardless, his record shows that he is never going to be a regular goal-scorer I prepare to be shot down, hold on il get my parachute....
  18. jimbo your a tosser! But yeah skol i think thats a pretty fair a just assessment to be honest. Think if ramage can come back strong will do well. Enrique should be played at left back but think the fact he cant speak english plays a part. Milner needs to up his game or move on, though i do like the lad. Well then martins i too would love to see him turn into a world class striker and do have faith or hope or whatever it is, the lad has something but needs to be in a confident side. We have a GOOD squad despite jimbo being jimbo and talk out his arse week in week out. We just need time to grow as a unit, not read the papers and concentrate on our football! We'll finish 8th this season and maybe get into intertoto cup...next year we will come back a much better team.
  19. we accepted it when we appointed souness and have been ever since, its come to be what to expect im affraid
  20. yawn.......shall we go and buy kenwin jones?
  21. Pretty much agree with most of that though iv never rated geremi, he's shit and always has been imo. And for smith well, ordinary??? no, underachiever yes! Rozenhal is poor, but i think if BSA had stook with him instead of chopped and changed he would of built on his good start.
  22. Well he played 228 times for leeds and scored 56 goals, so whats that? Just under 1 in 4 games....see not bad really but could be better! Take serious injury and constantly being played out of position, no wonder he hasnt scored for us yet, but given time he will! Every one is entitled to there opinion but i stand by mine he is a good player and does not deserve the level of stick he gets on here!
