  1. Get a grip man. Get over it. 35 fuckin million pounds.
  2. I honestly dont think FMA had the intention to sell AC. Andy Carroll had his head turned by Liverpool and Dalglish. Kenny has done a good one on AC. "Andy...you've had your problems in newcastle but come here, become our legend and i'l pay you 50k a week" I dont have a problem with FMA actually...35mil+ is alot of fucking money for someone who cost us fuck all. Yes we should of been building a team round him, yes its nice having a geordie number nine but we will get over it. It doesnt fill me with confidence going with a strikeforce of Shola and Best but it will keep us up. Plus i think its more likely now we see Barfa as a striker when he returns. We will stay up, we've done ok without AC and we will continue to do well, just, that money BETTER get spent on the squad in the summmer...and some. I think its only right we expect a figure of around 50mil being spent on the squad now. Im dissapointed aye but not gonna lose no sleep over it. We'll stay up and so long as the money is spent in the summer, and spent wisely then its all good.
  3. Not sure, who is available ? I just think we should buy players who the manager thinks are top quality or have the potential to be good premiership players, irrespective of the price, within sensible budgets which goes without saying, but the point people still appear to miss is that we are the 3rd biggest club in the country and better than that if successful so why not act like it ? And I say this knowing that Manu have global appeal nobody can match, Man City and Chelsea are bankrolled outrageously but there is absolutely no reason why we should not be buying players of the quality and show the same ambitions that the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool do all the time. Not doing this, and operating at the levels of the smaller clubs in the premiership is negating all our advantages of our fanbase and being the biggest one city one club in the country. If some people are OK with this, and say we are "fine" then that is up to them, but personally I think its a pile of bollocks and just not good enough. What and get ourselves in a stupendous amount of debt...AGAIN. If im honest i think the way FMA is running our finances is the right way to go. We stay up this season without spending much then we've clicked. A modest outlay on a few quality players in the off season and another good place finish next year THEN we can talk about spending good money on quality and us then tapping into our potential. Right now, for all our size or our history we are just another PL club. Steady, sensible progression over the next two years will see us in a much better position to then look into re-stamping ourselves as one of the best clubs. Right now size means fuck all.
  4. I dont think we will nor do i want us to sign Ireland. For that matter i dont think we will sign anyone. No movement at all. But if we were to sign anyone then id hope it was Keane on loan and Tarrabt permanently.
  5. We'll see. We'd be rejecting offers now anyway, whether we intend on keeping him or not. The time to get smug about rejected offers is 1st Feb, cos then we'll know that we weren't just holding out for a bigger offer on the last day of the window. Is that the same time the humble pie gets eaten......I doubt it. Humble pie about what? Nobody wants him sold, but people are rightly concerned. Why do you have to try and lord it over people and insist they eat humble pie? When I say that the time to be smug is on Feb 1, that's not strictly true. What I should say is that while the rest of us choose to be relieved that we kept our best player, knowing what you're like, you won't be able to stop crowing about how you predicted it all and acting the smug prick. And a better time for THAT would be Feb 1st. Although tbh there's never a good time for that sort of shit. So Im smug for being pleased we've YET AGAIN, turned down an offer, but others in this thread who claim the deals being done all along shouldnt eat humble pie on 1st Feb.. What utter fucking TOSH. ASM is right, come 1st Feb, the usual nay sayers will be spouting about how the clubs just waiting til the summer to get more money.....and so it goes on. TIT CT, you're a fuckin pleb man, not so much as Skidders like, but you are talking about selling Carroll in January/August etc, you are talking about WHEN Carroll will be sold. Mate, nothing is as sure as this club will, eventually, lose Carroll and Enrique to one of the top clubs attempting to win the trophies and play in europe, and they will be happy to leave when the penny drops when they realise they have to make this move for their career ambitions. Do you want to know what will help convince them to stay, and build on this "platform he has started" ? Its quite simple man, all Mike Ashley has to do is buy a couple of quality players like Carroll and Enrique to show them that THIS club is trying to go places, this will also correctly bring about a u-turn in attitudes among supporters of the club towards him and his ambitions for the club. It's THAT simple man. Tiote? Ben Arfa? exactly and not too expensive either. so do you think it is possible to put together a team to consistently play in europe and/or the Champions League rummaging around the basement transfer market ? I wouldnt say Tiote nor Barfa were basement bargains...far from it. Clever business. You can assemble a quality squad without spending alot of money if you have a quality scouting network in place and then know how to manage them.
  6. I'm all for articulation and intelligence but fish why do you talk like that? I doubt you would converse in such a way whilst frequenting your local.
  7. have we had our bad patch yet? no, and every team gets one, if you think we're going be where we are at the end of the season you're mental. We've a bad spell to come and most other teams around us have had theirs frankly. Flying high in 7th means fuck all when your less than 3 losses from the relegation zone, and there is plenty of teams below us capable of over taking us and sending us back into a relegation fight, do you really think even a team like Villa will be below us end of the season? Yes along with Wolves, West Ham, Wigan, Blackburn, Bolton, Everton, Liverpool, Birmingham, West Brom, Blackpool, Stoke and Fulham.
  8. Pardew is a better manager than a lot of people/maybe cretins have given credit for. However, he can't give NUFC the team befitting their status and potential doing the job with his hands tied. Well yeah...he wont be able to spend the sort of money we were once used to LM but that comes more so from the fact that we were in the Championship last year than FMA's running of the club. Like i said at the time, i think the relegation season was a positive and much needed albeit a black mark in our history. We've come back into the PL without spending alot, a huge gamble on FMA's part but one which looks like, and would be a very very good gamble. Many teams have come up and spent big and went straight back down. We've dodged that bullet and are looking likely to finish top 10 and possibly in a european place with a bit of luck. With the TV money, sponsorship, league placing and other monies received for this season then FMA will in affect of done something fantastic for our clubs finances. I would then EXPECT us to start spending money which befits are status. Once more for the record....i hate FMA for some of the things he's done to our club and i'd sooner he left but underlying all the bullshit...he has done and is doing some good. Also...i think Pardew has the potential to be one of our best managers....cliche i know but given time and backing he could do very well. With Carver alongside him too.
  9. Again i liked Pardews interview after the game. He's honest and open and to the point. I honestly can see 'potential' as a manager....likes the attacking game and he wants us to be responsible at the back. I just wish we had some clout so he could bring in a few more faces. We do need a striker, wide man and cover at left and right back.
  10. Even more so if Carroll was playing. Like I said a second goal was desperately needed in both matches and twice now it's come back to haunt us. I was worried the moment I heard there would be 4 added minutes. 4 points is massive and could be the difference between us staying up and getting relegated. You still think we're in danger of going down? regardless of points, I think the performances show we're good enough to stay up. 8 points between us and 18th. 9 between us and the bottom. A dodgy run on our part and that gap will get closed. Which makes dropping points like this when we're playing well even harder to comprehend. This should have been a fourth win in a row. On 34 points I'd feel comfortable. This is a good run of form - it won't last. We're wasting opportunities. Either way I've always said that I'll take survival any way we can get it. If it's a case of hoping for the best on the last day then I'd take that. Disappointments like this will soon be forgotten on my part the moment our survival is confirmed. 7 points from 6th with a game in hand and key players coming back very soon. Carroll, Barfa and Tiote. Get a grip! I hate pessimistic fucks like you.
  11. Agreed. Wi the amount of experience we have in our side we should of held out. School boy errors last week and this....that shit needs to be cut out and pronto.
  12. We are no way at all going to be relegated....id actually say that we are much more likely to finish top 10. Im still confident that with big AC, Tiote and Ben Arfa in the side we can finish 7th.
  13. Well well well once again we fuck up in injury time. We should of been 3-0 at that point, a striker is most definitely needed. Lovenkrands is finished, Ranger needs loaning and then shola and best should be back up to carroll and a new striker. We played well and created enough chances to kill the game off, just didnt have to quality to execute. Frustrated...Again. On the positive side however....we are 7th! Just annoying would could of been 7th and 2 points clear.
  14. We've not been bad nor have we been good. Jonas looks like he's up for it and can see him making the difference in the second half. Shola and Best linking up well, if only Shola connected a bit better with one of his half chances. Working very hard though and making it difficult for spurs to build any momentum. One criticism though....we are playing like we are the away team. Lets get on the front foot boys.
  15. 7's is much better! Forster Taylor Colo Baron tiote barfa Carroll
  16. Forster to come back and become our number one. Joe Hart did it.
  17. Aye actually so is alan smith...hard as nails.
  18. Goalkeepers Harper...500k Krul...4 mil Forster...4 mil Defenders Simpson...4 mil Enrique...15 mil Colo...15 mil Saylor...7 mil Williamson...3.5 mil Kadar...2+ mil Raylor...1.5 mil Midfielders Ben Arfa...15 mil Jonas...8 mil Barton...5 mil Routledge...2 mil Guthrie...3 mil Gosling...4+ mil Nolan...4 mil Smith...1.5 mil Vuckic...3+ mil Lua Lua...2 mil Strikers Carroll...25 mil Ameobi...3 mil Best...2 mil Lovenkrands...1 mil Ranger...1 mil I'd let the following go for an acceptable bid come the end of the season... Ranger, Lovenkrands, Smith, Guthrie, Routledge and Raylor. Obviously not all of them would leave, leaving our squad even shorter but i expect a few of those at another clubs next season.
  19. Aye. Whats annoying me is the fact we are now 9th rather than 7th. With that game in hand we could of went 6. Dont get me wrong im delighted with 4 points off them but really is frustrating and im sure the boys will be hurting a bit. Harper really has to shoulder the blame. Harper 5...Looked nervous all game, one good save and one monumental fuck up which cost us! Enrique 8...Solid, assured and good going forward again...should of passed to best. Simpson 7...Looked good, tidy and alert...certainly getting better. Colo 9...Outstanding.Simples. Willo 6...Shaky and unsettling at times. Barton 8...Worked his arse off, few great balls...witch hunted again ffs. Jonas 7...Done well, few good runs, few good balls...too many wasted balls as usual though. Nolan 8...Great finish, worked hard, chased and covered alot of ground. Captains performance. Smith 7...Done well until taken off. (Guthrie) 6...Poor, didnt get into game enough. Shola 7...Worked hard, some good touches but should of scored. Best...7 Again worked hard and looks sharp....maybe he's not as bad as we 1st thought.
  20. Well...was a quality game, we deserved to win but thats the way it goes. Sunderland did battle well. I hope Harper stands up and apologises to the team because that was one royal fuck up...really should of held that. Basic goalkeeping. Missed the chance to climb two places. That could dent our european push. Still...we've proved once me that we are the best team in the north east. FUCK OFF STEVE BRUCE.
  21. Use sopcast its quality. We were better team 1st half...should be one up but hey ho we'll do them second half. A win would put us 7th...3 points behind the scum with a game in hand. Id push nolan upfront with shola and bring routledge on for a bit of pace. Come on boys
