  1. Had a sneaky feelin Smith was gonna be drafted in and Nolan upfront. Looks like we are going there for a draw 1st and try and sneak a win. Why not just go all out man? Any rivers kicking about...preferably ones i can see but if not i dont mind listening
  2. We will be competing with the likes of Wolves next season....for i understand your point i just think we need to be patient. He are rebuilding and it takes time. Stay up next season THEN season after look to 10th place finish and so on so forth.
  3. Il be hiding on the grassy knoll
  4. I know i was being sarcastic man. ...................or continuing to talk up Best a) Helps rather than hinders a player who is still ours whether thats a good thing or not. Does something to keep a potential resale price"up". Telling the world we want rid would drive the price down. My personal opinion is that you are right up to a point. Best does have the look of a panic buy. But in managing the situ now, Hughton has got it right - as he has most things this season. You are right in that sense, biggin him up will help him and us like you say a/b. But i honestly think CH believes what he is saying...he beleives Best is good enough.....which if true then we can kiss goodbye to the hope of a new striker next season. Worrying.
  5. This guy keeps churing out some brilliant articles. Keep it up George...people will start to listen the louder you and we talk/shout. We are all daft lads deep down...to some extent!
  6. Just when i was starting to have a little faith in Chris Hughton he somes out with bollocks like that. Could he not have just come out and said... "Signing Leon was a panic buy that has gone wrong, at the time we didnt know how shit he was so we will be letting him leave in the summer" "Fabrice has done nothing since his goal against Watford, but im happy for him, he has picked up a nice amount of money sitting on his arse but that stops at the end of the season" Come on Chris...say it how it is man!
  7. CHRIS Hughton has handed Newcastle's forgotten man Leon Best a vote of confidence - insisting the striker still has a part to play in United's Premier League campaign. Best is yet to open his account for United and has slipped down the pecking order at St James’ Park in the wake of Andy Carroll and Peter Løvenkrands hitting form. Shola Ameobi’s timely return to fitness has relegated the former Coventry forward to an unused substitute over the last two games, and Hughton admits it has been “difficult” for him. The Newcastle boss has defended his contribution, though, arguing he has played a pivotal role in the push for promotion. He is adamant his time will come – and rubbished talk of selling him in the summer. Hughton said: “There is no doubting Leon’s ability – we see that in training – but it is a difficult time for him. “When you are a striker joining a new club, first you want to play games and more importantly you want to score goals. “The unfortunate thing for Leon is he has seen the form of the other strikers around him, which has resulted in his opportunities being limited. “My way of looking at it is I would rather have him at the club than not have him. “Of course he also applies pressure on that striking group. “He is a player who has scored goals in the Championship, it is just unfortunate for him he has been among a group of strikers in good form. “Since he has been here, he has been a very valuable member of the squad – but of course he wants to be playing and he wants to be scoring goals. His time will come. “Leon is a player we still want for next season. We see his abilities; he had scored ten goals for Coventry before he came and has had no problems settling in to the club. The area he wants to be doing well in is scoring goals, and at the moment that has not gone as well as he would have liked, but I still have a lot of faith in him.” Hughton has admitted he “likes” Portsmouth’s on-loan midfielder Jamie O’Hara – but denied any contact with Spurs over a possible summer switch. After a breakthrough season for Pompey O’Hara is being courted by a number of Premier League clubs and would be open to the idea of a move to St James’ Park in the summer. Newcastle are keen, but wages may stand in the way of any possible deal. Hughton said he was one of a number of players he admired but said nothing was imminent. He said: “I know Jamie O’Hara well, but I can only think the link is because of my time at Spurs. “He has had a very good season. He wants to play and he needs to play, and that is why he went to Portsmouth and has done well. But there has not been anything from us on him.”
  8. No not at all...i agree completely with Craig.
  9. Not sure what team we will field tonight. Would CH sacrifce Guthrie for the steal of Smith in the middle or Play Nolan up top with Carroll? I hope we dont revert back to that...not when our best attacking side is doing so well. Barton could even get a start? I hope we play the same team that tonked Blackpool...providing Enrique makes it. Hard fought 2-1 win for us...Carroll and Lovenkrands.
  10. If at the end of last season we had escaped relegation by that one point and then went on to make the same sales and purchases would you be looking forward to the season? I wouldnt. Hindsights a wonderful thing eh pud? If we had of stayed up then those sales and purchase would never of happened...well not all of them. But thats not what we are talkin about is it mate? Who do you think WILL go?
  11. I just dont get it. Everyone jumping on the bandwagon AGAIN. That article was fair enough tbh. If we are to have a decent year next year then continuity and momentum ARE important. That means keeping the squad together. CH talks about areas that need adressing (RB, CM and CF i hope) and areas that need cover (LB, LW and RW) whats wrong with that? Its not like he is saying we dont need to sign anyone is it? Chill out man. Im willing o stick my neck out and say none of the following will leave: Enrique, Coloccini, Saylor, Gutierrez and Carroll. If any were to go id think it would only be Raylor and Best.
  12. Gillespie was a much better winger. I do like Routledge though.
  13. Leazes you cant just wing it...there HAS to be some sort of base plan to follow, targets to strive towards....

Pathetic wind up....some people would actually beleive that though....spastics.
  15. O'Hara and Hutton from spuds for 8mil and id be fairly happy......for a start.
  16. Granted the treatment we recieved from the villa fans was pretty shit but i still think you cant tar them all with the same brush. I hate Birmingham, its a shithole of a place and i fuckin detest the accent but that guy came on here wishing us well....doesnt really send out a good message of us geordies when a guy was being congratulative and in way of thanks gets shit slung at him.
  17. Fuckin love it! Totally unrelated...anyone else see Alexanders two pentalties for Burnley thday against Hull? 2 of the best penalties iv seen in a long time...especially the 2nd. Good effort fella.
  18. Stevie Stevie Stevie the lad was congratulating us ffs.
  19. Well done my son!!! I had £2 on Hello Bud...good fuckin run until last fence! Chisms dont pay out 5th place.... fuckin wankers. I also had the toon 3-1....not a good day for me! Get nowt for nearly!
  20. Ratings anyone? What were the goals like? MOM?
  21. That is what got us relegated. Don't agree, we had good enough players to keep us up, we were relegated because they were badly managed, earned too much and couldn't give a fuck about the club. Well yes your right but losing Given, Milner and N'Zogbia and not getting sufficient replacements are what fucked us inho.
  22. That is what got us relegated. Although if we were to get relegated again and FMA would receive another parachute payment, it is not rocket science to know that being in the PL brings more money in than any parachute payment. Yes the pressure and expectancy is higher in the PL but i dont think many would tolerate another year in the wilderness. So too save his arse, get a few more people on board and make his life a little bit easier you would think that this time, this summer, he will do things the way they should be. I hope he has learned his mistakes, if he hasnt then he is an even bigger idiot than ever conceived before. A fool that doesnt deserve his millions. This summer is make or break for him, he knows it, if he isnt willing to stump up whats needed (25mil) then he will put up for sale again.
  23. Some dont like the black shoulder thing but i actually quite like that design. Gold looks alrite but blue would be better. Different to what we are used to.
