  1. but he doesn't say smith will be used there. So he could mean 5 strikers inlcuding luque and the four others mentioned above and class smith as a midfielder which is where i believe he will be used most.
  2. What a thoroughly brilliant piece of journalism. How hard is it to be interesting and mildly funny as a journalist? A game which as a sports journalist becomes your life? You would never EVER see a piece of reporting like this from Alan Oliver. Alan if you're reading this, I know genuinely you're not a bad bloke, you're not I've spoken to you a few times, but you're pish, and too old, can you not take over the Rugby from Duncan Madsen? I think some of the pieces as have been mentioned show lazy reporting. If we come lower than 7th, or below Everton I will pledge £100 to a worthy charity. Fuckin 9th. Some of them mention a weak squad, the piece in today's Racing Post has us 9th, because we've only made "a few" buys. I can't remember us making 7 QUALITY buys in the space of 2 months ever. I'll stick my neck out and say 5th. Fuck Tottenham. Jol for the sack 25/1 - seen worse bets. Fucking hate Jol, hope the twat gets the sack. Personally with an average season we will finish 8th and with a good season 6th. If injuries are avoided and our defence is as good as it looks atm then 5th is a possibility. However, id easily settle for sixth in BS's first season.

    Cicinho

hes virtually a right mid lol, barely defends
  4. agreed, but buy diop and wack him in midfield ahead of butt, but as this threads about current line of players thats not going to happen
  5. Van der Sar too. I've never really been a fan of Van der Saar and not just because of the club he plays for. I think he's massively over-rated and can quite as easily have a shite game than play a blinder. Cech is away on his own IMO with Given next in line. Behind that you've got the likes of Friedal, Reina, Van der Saar, Jaaskelainen, Niemi, James, Robinson & Green who I think are generally all on a par. I agree with you about Van Der Sar. Man Utd fans started worrying last season that he'd drop a bollock in each game. He flapped at one or two in the Community Shield on Sunday. I'm not sure about Robinson and Green in your list though. I think that Robinson has far too many mistakes and Green was kept out of West Ham's goals by Roy Carrol Friedel and Niemi look fantastic on motd with their shot-stopping, but tbh, I've not seen enough of them to know about their all-around game. I agree with the robinson part as well, hes just a fat bastard, foster for england number 1

  7. tbh i think there in more need of a keeper, well were, than a striker. A decent keeper is vital and although they say goals win matches, sunderland are not going to score four goals a game when they are conceding three. They desperately need to keep it tight at the back and craig gordon will help that. Good keeper, ridiculous price but it's what they needed so fair play to the tossers. You never know, they could avoid relegation
  8. Source: The Times Dont think we will get him but that report shows how much enrique is valued as a footballer by BS. Im looking forward to seeing him play
  9. Its the usual pre-season optimism, we'll all be kicking the cat come Saturday at 5pm. Don't have a cat, so il kick my dog I quite like my dogs, il just go out and look for a cat my sisters a dog il kick her

  11. and plus the bolton fans must be pissed off, there's nothing about them or what they are predicted on the site lol
  12. haha damn straight but in fairness this is about the only time he's praised us and talked us up. Now we need le tissier to say something good about us and we will be winning the league

  15. Its stuff like this that defines managers like Allardyce and why they can attract players and get the best out of them. Roeder, Souness et al would have signed him and basically dumped him in the middle of town and said sort yourself out from now! Also Big Sam has been talking about easing the new players who haven't played in the prem into the season, not just chuckign them all in at the start when they mightn't quite be ready from pre season and also making sure we start with plenty of prem experience in a game like Bolton away. I'm sure we'll see one of the new defenders get a game home to Villa though. Sam just continually impresses you as somebody who really knows what they're doing, and is in a different leage to the previous muppets! Yeah, hes completely the opposite to souness so what im saying is hes a fuckin GREAT mananger lol
  16. Maybe he will get injured again on england duty and we will be given 10million odd lol... i live in hope, if not hope he stays fit
  17. I was thinking the same, don't let him anywhere near enrique
  18. Newcastle new-boy Alan Smith has saluted the Magpies faithful for their response to his debut performance in a pre-season friendly with Sampdoria. The former Manchester United striker bagged the only goal of the game, and the England international says his first performance and goal for his new side was capped off by the superb reception he received. Smith's debut came days after his £6 million switch to St. James' Park, and the 26-year-old is targeting a successful start to the season. Fantastic support "I thank the fans for the reception they gave me, it was incredible," he told the club's official website. "This is a massive club with fantastic support and I'm delighted to be here. "I couldn't wait for the game and it was great to get 90 minutes under my belt. "I was trying to time my runs to get on the end of things and thankfully I managed to score. "I just can't wait for Bolton now and it's important we get a good start to the season."
  19. So you agree JawD, Baggio's penis really IS small. I haven't been there but he definitely does
  20. Yeah if you wanted a crazy murderer in your team lol
  21. Or a souness comment on how to reassure people about transfer dealings
  22. I don't want to see that from any of our players tbh. I think it shows grit and determination and the fact he cares about scoring a goal so much in a friendly gives me the impression he's up for the fight this season.
  23. Yes i know, just the fact that he believes almost signing a player is an achievement. Loser
